Here's a "Yes" to passports! And we bring them with us everywhere we go in port! I have heard of taking photo copies of your passport into port, but only a real passport could get you a flight off of that location. This is just our thing...everyone does it different! Well, and like Jetskigrl said...someone could fall and get injured in their bedazzled mickey hats and matching shirts on the Mango Rum Run...you might need that passport!


BTW...my wheels have been spinning with the Mango Rum Run. We could go all out...and get a DISigner to make us up a logo. Iron the logo or embroider it onto a shirt. Figure out a way to bedazzle or customize some mickey ears. Or use a logo and make all of us a neat tote bag for our rum goodies! I don't know...any creative folks out there! Any thoughts?


My goal for this weekend is to compile a list of all our DISers for our cruise and post them on post 1. I'll let you all know when it is completed!

That would be so cool Crystal. I would love to see what they come up with for a graphic, LOL. The tote bag idea is awesome!!! Of course, I'm sure a door magnet would be needed also

Speaking of bedazzled Mickey Ears, they have some really cute styles in the make-your-own-ears sections. My dd has some cute pink fluffy ears and I think there are some that are already pretty close to bedazzled

Jetskigrl..I'm doing the same thing you are. My husband hates to travel so its me my 2 kids DD(14) DS (11) and my mom! I don't like to go alone so she does the traveling with me. We have a blast! Tried hard to get the hubby to come along, even promised a side trip to Kennedy Space Center, but he says someone has to stay back and take care of the animals (1 horse, 1 dog and 2 cats) So CADisneyMom you won't be the only "single" traveler when our kids, no matter their ages, ditches us. Welcome to the Dream cruise!
Oh and by the way what the heck is this mango rum run I keep hearing about?

Mango Rum Run - I believe that there is a high interest in whoever wants to get together on the Nassau, Bahamas port day to go and get some Mango Rum. The Mango Rum Run has now turned into a time for DISers to meet, be silly and have some fun! BTW...does anyone have any specifics on this rum? I googled Mango Rum Bahamas and came up with these brands...Don Lorenzo, Barcardi Limited, Captain Morgan Parrot Bay and Ron Ricardo. Also...does anyone know the location? I just was wanting this information to give to a DISigner for a logo.


Jetskigrl - Great idea about the design your own mickey ears on Disney Store! They even have some pre-fab ones that are pretty glitzy! I also like the tote bag idea!

Welcome to our group Woosh, CADisneyMom, & Cy n Ty! We have got an awesome group here which is going to make a great Disney cruise even better!

We've got an active group here, this is great! CY, I think you're the first brave guy to join the group (without having the info relayed to them through their DW anyways!)--I guess if you don't want to wear bedazzled Mickey Ears, maybe we can come up with an alternative!

As far as the Mango Rum, we can thank MJVans (Michelle) for getting us all hooked on that one! Michelle will know where to get it, I think she said her brother had picked some up & brought it back for her. I love the idea of having a logo for the Mango Rum Run--they could really come up with something cool for that I bet! We'll have to find out who's all interested & figure out a good time to do the run! At this point we aren't planning on venturing off the ship that day so that will be my only reason for heading into Nausau--and a good one it is! Do we need to contact the rum company to have them start to up their production right now?

I picked up passports for all of us back in March when they first started to talk about increasing the prices. I figure since my dsis is a travel agent you never know when she's going to find an amazing deal that we need to jump on right away anyways!

For our summer vacation plans we are heading to Wisconsin as far as I know--our family loves anything to do with water & there are plenty of options there, especially at the Dells. I'm in planning mode right now for August--all of you heading to Florida in the summer are braver than I am! I went to college down there & had my fill of hot, muggy Florida summers--although you can't beat sitting in the library during a tropical storm trying to finish a term paper! We went to the Toledo Zoo last week & absolutely loved it--I haven't been there since I was 8 & was amazed at how well everything is kept up. Crystal, you're a brave soul heading on a trip with the MIL's family! I have always wanted to go to Pigeon Forge for vacation, the only thing that I don't like about it is the traffic issues. That looks gorgeous down there & I love having all the touristy things to do. I may still have to keep that as an option! Do you stay on the outskirts to avoid the traffic or are you right in the middle of things?

Cindy--how did the girls make out with their camp? I know we had lots of storms rolling through that week & I was hoping it didn't go through were they were staying!

Cindy--how did the girls make out with their camp? I know we had lots of storms rolling through that week & I was hoping it didn't go through were they were staying!

Hey Kathryn, girls are still at camp, now mid way through the 24 day stay. The recent storms made me nervous but they haven't mentioned it in any of their letters. They say they are having a great time. They have some 'adopt a pony' program where a pony can be cared for by three campers who are responsible for it. That's pretty much all they talk about when they write! So far no word of sunburns or bee stings either, thankfully. DH and I have been looking forward to this for so long, we actually went out to eat three nights in a row when the girls first left but the fun has already worn off and now I just miss my girlies. I'm sure when they get home I'll want to send them back to camp!!! Ah kids, what joy.

Hey Kanga+2roos....I used to live in Toledo so I grew up going to that zoo more times than I can count. We moved west (AZ and CA) until 1993 (now in Illinois). My sister, mom and brother live outside toledo so we went last summer...you're right I was amazed at how well they have maintained and upgraded.I laugh that one of the animal buildings is now a restaurant. So are you guys Cedar Point fans? Grew up on that too...in fact heading there Aug 2! This is definately an enthusiastic group of cruisers! Will definately need to have a Dismeet. Hope our enthusiasm can withstand the next 9 months!

BTW...we have 22 cabins now listed on our DISmeets list!

I'm just sittin here chillin after the fireworks drinking my Mango Margarita! All this talk about Mango Rum drove me to the drink aisle & low & behold there sits a bottle of premixed Jose Cuervo Mango Margaritas! I have to say, it's a really good mix & all of you Mango Rum Runners may want to search it out to get your fix--okay, so it's tequilla, not rum but hey, I can't wait another 9 months for the rum!

Woosh--yes, we did grow up on Cedar Point as well, definitely was one of our yearly trips. Ah, good memories! I haven't taken my boys there yet--we've done Kings Island & loved that but figured we'd hold off till they can appreciate all the huge roller coasters at Cedar Point.

Cy--I can see that you are going to fit into this group just fine!

Cindy--wow, 24 days at camp? I have to admit, I'd be like you are, DH & I would be loving our first days of freedom & then I'd be more homesick for the kids than they would be for me! I'm glad their having a great time--definitely get in as many date nights as possible & enjoy your couple time! We're hoping to get in a date this weekend to go see Grown Ups--that looks hilarious!

Crystal--you did a great job on the list of dissers. That could not have been easy--I know I've back tracked a couple times to see who is all out there since a lot posted one time to let us know they're on the cruise & that's the last we heard from them. Thanks for all the work you put into our group!

I had a nightmare about the cruise last night. I had packed clothes for everyone but me. Lol, I know it sounds so silly but in my dream it was catastrophic! I woke up in a panic... ugh, I hope this doesn't continue for 9 months! Maybe I just needed a shot of Mango rum before bed

We have been vacationing for a few days, boy did I miss alot. We went camping in Ludington (for those of you in MI) and it was actually a beautiful weekend, although is it ever not windy there?

My DD9 and DD7 have gone to sleep over camp just once and it was only for a few days, I can't imagine sending them for 3 weeks! I bet they will have plenty of stories when they get home.

I am so jealous for those of you heading to see the mouse before our DREAM vacation, we only get to head that way once every couple of years. I hope the dessert party goes well and you find brownies to help keep your secret. I remember when I booked ADR for CRT and I couldn't tell anyone for months to keep it a secret, it almost killed me.

I don't think we are getting passports for our family, I just figured it was another added expense that wasn't really needed. Although now that we have added bedazzeled mickey ears to our crazy DIS meet and a mango rum run excursion to our trip I may have to rethink my passport, at least. Although if I fall and break my leg, I am hopeful that my fellow rum runners will at least get me back aboard the ship. What's a broken leg anyway when you have mango rum and are only a day away from Castaway Cay!
