Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

The sign that says, "Let the Dream Begin?" I don't know if it will come out in a higher resolution, but you could go to the cruise graphics thread and find tjbaggott's signature. Go to her 4shared files. Click on Disney Cruise. And our DISign appears on the second row. Let me know if it works...:goodvibes

Hey All...
Well, we are back!!!! It was an amazing trip to WDW!! But I have to say, the highlight of the trip was meeting mjvans and family in person! We chatted for a minute before the dessert party but we were seated on opposite sides so we didn't get to talk much during it. But afterwards, we met up again and spent the rest of the evening together (park had EMH until 2:00 am and I think we went our separate ways about 1:45 am).

We had such a blast visiting with them and the kids all just seemed to click immediately. My DS (7) has the biggest crush on her DD. He went from being a Mama's boy to following her around and asking to ride next to her on every ride  It was so cute.

But the hardest part was when we were leaving and my kids were sad because they weren't going to see them again. Well, that is because my kids still don't know about the cruise (and everyone was very careful not to talk about it that night in front of them). So they are going to be even more excited when they find out that they will get to see them again in April!!!!

OK, now I need to read back and see what I have missed the last couple of weeks on our thread! It did make it much easier to come home from vacation this time knowing that we have another wonderful adventure planned!!

Hi all, it has been ages since I have check in on this thread. We were talking about the cruise and DH asked if we were going to do the FE thing again. I told him I had to check to see if someone had organized it yet. So how do we get on the list? :) I did a deck plan with the cabins noted of those on the FE list last time, I can do that again if needed for this cruise when it gets closer :)

Also, we are doing the B2B with the April 7th cruise. We would love to connect with others who are doing that to hopefully connect someone with my dd who will be in the tween club and be a bit shy about going without knowing anyone.

Hi Michele,
We are doing the B2B with the April 7th cruise also :-)

Thought I would pop in and say Hi. It looks like everyone has been busy. Our summer is almost over. Kaykay starts school the Tuesday after Labor day and Kyky starts Preschool. It is starting to cool down here. It is 71 degrees. We are all running for our jackets. That is so funny. In the winter we get tons of snow and temps run around 10 degrees on a warm day. Before we know it, downhill skiing will be starting.
Can't wait until the cruise. So excited to meet everyone. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of there summer.
I will definately start the fish extender shopping... :cool1:

Oh I am so jealous of your trip!!! Sounds like you guys had a BLAST!

This week I am volunteering at the local consignment sale (which claims to be the biggest in the US). I was there last night until.... wait for it... 1 am!!!!!!!! We had to kick people out! I mean I am all for a bargain, but after 6 hours of shopping if you are not done, you need to reevaluate your shopping ability (we open the doors at 6 and these chicks were not moving until we sent the security officer over to tell them we were closing) My feet are KILLING me today and I wish I was soaking them in the warm waters off Castaway Cay

EcbLovesMickey- I just noticed your Deck 7 club picture. LOVE IT (and want to steal...er, I mean borrow, it)!!!

How do you get the pictures on your signature? Do you have to upload them to another site?

So as soon as I got back from WDW, I began planning for the cruise! That is the only way I know to take the sting out of having to leave! Has anyone yet made plans on their arrival in the Orlando area prior to cruise? We will arrive in Florida on 3/29 but not sure if we will stay at WDW the whole time or get a hotel close to the port. Last time we stayed at Ron Jon's in Cocoa Beach.

Seriously, the highlight of our trip was meeting Patti and her family too! I can not tell you just how much I enjoyed meeting them! It was beyond amazing!! It was like we had known each other all our liives! It is rare that a family can click so immediately!! One more reason in a list of many that I am so glad the "Dream" is a reality! We have soooooooo much in common and I wish we could have spent more time just hanging out and talking!! I was just so afraid I was going to let out the secret, and I seriously was not interested in stuffing my face with any more brownies! Our children bonded immediately. (Patti, your children are just precious!! ) It was so refreshing to have our kids get along so well! This was the only night that I can recall that there was no whining or complaining! Thank you Patti! :yay:
Truly, it was a magical night and I am so looking forward to many more now on the cruise! We have a superb group here and I look forward to meeting the rest of you as soon as we board!
ps.....after we met Patti and her family and could see the instant connection our kids made, there was no way I could keep the secret! My kids were so exhausted the night we said goodbye, but the next morning, I told them we would be cruising with friends!

Welcome back home from WDW mjvans and jetskigrl! :wizard: It sounds like you all had a great time...don't you love the DIS!!! :thumbsup2

I hope everyone is doing well! Here things are getting busy again...we leave for Miami this Saturday and cruise on Sunday. We can't wait for this trip! We need a break! However; the thought of school starting once we return is quite depressing! Where does the time go??? :confused3

Well, at least we are getting closer to our Dream cruise date! I know that this is especially good for those that are keeping it a secret! :goodvibes

Anyhoo...off to do more laundry...:laundy: Just returned from Maryland (Husband was in a wedding) and today we quickly raced out the door to a baseball pool party. :rolleyes1 I guess you only live once...might as well fill up the schedule!

As far as pre-cruise plans go, I think we are planning on coming down Thurs or Friday and hitting WDW. We were supposed to go this Thanksgiving, but decided to save our money (and our sanity) and go a few days before the cruise instead. Haven't made reervations or anything yet though

I went ahead and made a reservation for the Country Inn and Suites near the port for the night of the 2nd. I'm still not sure if we are going to stay there or at the airport Hyatt, but wanted to make sure that I had something reserved. I'm thinking about surprising the kids with a Limo ride to the hotel from the airport, LOL. I think after the 6-hour flight, I will be better off getting closer to the port.

I know....I can't wait to tell them that your family will be on the cruise with us!!!! Ohhhh, I don't know how I am going to keep this secret until Christmas ;-) It is so true about the whining too, LOL. We didn't hear a single complaint out of DS all that night, LOL. He was too busy chasing your DD around, making sure that he got to sit with her on all the rides ;)

I hope you and your family have an awesome time on your cruise!!!!! Yep..things sound busy for you guys.....but a good busy :)

Oh Crystal, I forgot to tell you.... We took your advice on using the spray anti-perspirant for our feet and the only time that DD got a blister from her sandals was the one night that she forgot to use the spray, LOL. She thought I was crazy for suggesting it, but it works!!

Those of us who are doing the Back 2 Back with the April 7 cruise, how long did your travel agent say you would have to be off the boat for? I am hearing a lot of different things ranging from 1 hour to 5 or 6?!?!?

Also, should we all plan something fun to do together during teh wait time? Like a scavenger hunt or something to keep the kids occupied? Maybe we could do a people watching BINGO game or something :)

Back in 2008, we did a back-to-back cruise.
We were off the ship less than 10 minutes. It took about the time to walk through customs, back up the elevator, and back through the ears. i think you also check in, but since there is no lines, it went really fast.

Note my use of past tense. remember that disney could change the process at any time, and this was 2 years ago. however, i think they try to minimize the hassle, letting you get the most of the ship on that day. some things are closed, but it was interesting to watch the work being done to get the ship ready for the next cruise. we did laundry and swim. it was great.

we are also on the B2B dream cruises (4/3 and 4/7). Our kids are DS12 and DD 8.

Hello Everyone! I need some pixie-dust here...I have to get up at 6AM tomorrow and attempt to get Candlelight Processional Dinner/Tickets! :scared1: They go on sale tomorrow for everyone...it is going to be a mad-rush...and probably a long phone call. Anyhow...we have several dates to play around with...and are not picky about the restaurant. :goodvibes

I hope everyone is doing well! We are almost all packed for our cruise...decided to skip the formal nights...that cuts way-down on luggage space!

Have a great rest of the week!
