Disney Dream 9/29/2011 3night

I am thinking that a glue gun and some material over cardboard make work nice. Just needs some type of mickey shapes or something! I also read that alot of people have one gift that relates to the hometown of the person delivering which I thought was a nice touch!

I made one last year-- granted it's not the quality that others have but it worked fine.. I bought some material and used a glue gun and it was ok... Truthfully, some people on our last cruise had a disney bag (like the shopping bags at the disney store) and others just decorated a shopping bag and it was much easier to put the goodies into..Whatever works!!

As far as the cruise, we live in South Florida so will either drive up the day of or the day before (we did that last year) we had a great dinner at Grills, rode the go-carts next to the CI&S... We have a reserved a cabana for our CC day- (party of 10 so it's not too expensive). We can't wait for it all!!!!:yay::yay:

Good to see the group getting more active. My kids will be 10 (girl) and 13 (boy) at the time of the cruise (September birthdays). We are flying in the night before and staying at the Hyatt at the airport. My kids are lucky enough to have Thursday and Friday off of school for Jewish holidays so they won't miss any school. We are also joining the FE. I think we will use some type of tote bag. We are planning on doing the Discover Atlantis excursion.

We are in 2nd seating for dinner. It starts an hour past DD bedtime. I was going to try to change it to the earlier one. I think that is TOO early. I didn't want to have to leave CC early just to get back for dinner So for 3 nights I think DD can be off of her schedule.

Anyone know if they offer in cabin baby sitting?

I think you are out of lucky with the in room babysitting. Is your daughter a good stroller sleeper? I think you could wheel her in to dinner if needed. From the photos of the nursery they have cribs there, so maybe you can put her to bed at the nursery and pick her up and do the transfer to your room?

One of my boys was a great at the transfer. I could take him out of the car into the stroller and back several times and he would sleep through. The other one not so much.

We however are all for ruining the kids schedule! Well as long as it doesn't ruin us.

We made reservations at the nursery for the last night. That's the night we are going to Palo. I didn't want to stick her in there every night though.

Sometimes transfers work perfect with out a peep. Other times not so much.
DD is a tad high maintenance! This is the reason we chose the 3 day cruise.

I know we can rent a stroller on the ship. Any idea what kind? I was thinking to bring an umbrella stoller but I don't think they recline right?

Like I said I'm ok if her schedule is off as long as she is not cranky!

:welcome::welcome::welcome:

WELCOME to those of you who have just joined us. Been pretty quiet around here until now!

I'm Stacey, and I'm with the group of people for the wedding at Castaway Cay. None of us in that group have any little kids anymore. I'm waiting for my grandsons to get old enough to cruise. :earsboy::earsboy:

This will be my 11th Disney cruise....17th total.

Will have to check with the others in my stateroom about FE's...but with the wedding and all the items we'll be bringing for that, I doubt if we'll participate this time.

We'll be at WDW for a couple of days before the cruise, heading straight home after.

I think of the group, I'm the only one who has a tentative excursion planned for Nassau. I want to snorkel....can't stand the thought of being ON the ocean and not getting IN it. After the wedding, we won't have a lot of time for beach play at Castaway Cay.
My biggest plan is to explore the "new" ship.

We decided not to do any excursions, instead we splurged and got a Cabana on Castaway for the day!

:banana::banana::banana::banana:

Hey Amanda-
What cabana did you get?? I tried for weeks and finally the last one (17)became available. I'm still trying every day to get a little more in the middle of the beach but am so happy to have any one!!!

My DD is 10 as well, (also have a DS (8) are you going to use the kids clubs? I don't know if my DD will want to do Oceaner or move up? We are also doing the Discover Atlantis and then back to the ship to enjoy it. What time is your Discover Atalntis excursion?

Hey fellow cruisers. Got a question about my stateroom. Last time we cruised the Wonder, we had a inside stateroom but this time we have a Family Oceanview so I was readin gon the boards and saw where they said that some balconies have a solid white board and some are clear plexiglass. There was supposed to be some type of chart that showed which type however I couldn't find it, has anyone ever cruised where they have experinced this? For the amount I am paying, I would like to make sure I have a great view and not be disappointed, with that being said, does anyone have a recommendation on decks, location of ship as far as mid, front, port side, starboard side, etc? Just wanted some thoughts

Nikki,

If you end up getting a closer one please let me know before you let the other one go.

I am checking every day too!

Thanks,
Lois

The solid wall verandahs are in the back of the ship. There is a great thread on the main cruise line forum that shows all of the rooms. Let me see if I can find it, and I'll put the link to it on here.

As far as location....I don't really think it matters on a shorter cruise. ONBOARD is the best location.

My kids are looking forward to the kids clubs. I think Olivia would rather move up and be with her brother but don't know it that will be an option since she will have just turned 10. On the other hand she might like some of the activities in the younger group. I just think there will be too many kids in there for her liking. We are doing the 11 something Discover Atlantis tour. Actually wish there was an earlier option.

We were able to get #5!!! We have Gold status for Castaway Club so we were able to book early! We are actually doing a b2b cruise and had tried to get one for the 4day cruise but none were available. This ended up working out perfect because my brother and his family will only be able to join us for the 3day cruise.

NEXT cruise I want to get a cabana. Plan to share with some other couples, so the cost isn't so outrageous. :thumbsup2

Hi Lois-
If I can find one before you do I will wait to cancel mine until I get in touch with you -- good luck- it really is a crap shoot whether or not one will open up. If you don't end up with one go right to the excursion desk when you get on board and get on the wait list..

Thanks Nikki!

I will keep checking and then get on the wait list if luck is not on my side. I don't think that it's a make or break so I won't be that disappointed if it doesn't come to be.

Amanda - very exciting to have #5, it's my understanding that it's one of the best spots.
