Disney Dream 9/29/2011 3night

ElenaRN,

I think that we are going to do the day at Atlantis via the Comfort Suites. If you book a room there for the night you get full access with wrist bands to Atlantis. There is lots of info about it on other threads that you will find here. I checked the rates and it's $166 for the night that we need. There are about $35 in additional fees that you have to pay when you get there.

That being said I am not sure that I would want to do that with my 9 month old. You would have to split up to do any of the water slides. Maybe your daughter could ride on one of your laps for the lazy river (even though I hear it's not that lazy). I would post this question in the general cruise planning section, surely there are people who done this and can give you feed back. I might stay closer to the ship and use the nursery to hang by the adult pool for a bit.

4flmoores,

Welcome!

What an exciting surprise for your girls and how nice for you to be able to relax after spending time in the parks! We are traveling with another family and they have 9 and 11 year old girls.

I think I would be interested in joining the FE! Someone would need to explain all of the details though since I am a newbie.

What is everyone's plan for the day in Nassau? Last time we did the Atlantis day pass. We were wondering if it was worth the $ this time with a 9 month old.

Looking so forward to this trip!!

ETA : Thanks for the warm welcome!

There is a nice sticky on FE under the FAQ section of this thread (I think.)...at least I thought so the last time I looked....anybody?

I am so excited to cruise Mickey Style again. When is everyone getting in town and are u all staying the night before the cruise? We are still up in the air about it. We are going to WDW after the cruise. I would live to meet up with y'all! How r the FE gonna work? How many do we want to do? One per night or one per cruise? Just wondering, heard it happens both ways!

Regarding the Atlantis.. we are cruising with another couple without children. They said they would be our babysitters whenever we wanted to do something the baby couldn't do.
I am just so indecisive bc on a 3 day cruise it goes so fast. Last time we did the 4 day, so we had that one day at sea to explore the ship.

We are flying down at the crack of dawn on Thursday, a 6:17 flight! So no stay over for us in prior to the cruise.

After we are going to spend a night at the Contemporary and do MNSSHP. Then we go back home on Monday. There was such a debate about the kids missing school, one of our bunch is starting middle school this year. So we decided that one day out of school was plenty.

As for the FE, it doesn't matter to me how we do it. I'm just so excited. I think that my kids will love coming back to the room to see what treasures have been left! Now when I am in stores I have been considering all sorts of things for the FE.

Maybe it will depend on the final number of people that we have. Amanda, will you chime in and give a rough head count. I have been trying to keep track. I feel like we have roughly 6-8 staterooms participating.

Elena,

Lucky you bringing along another couple that will babysit for you! In that case with 4 adults and one sweet girl, I'd go for it. Even though it seems that there will be plenty to do on the ship without ever stepping foot on Nassau.

Have a great day!

Lois

Mama, that is why I am so indesicive. I know there will be plenty to do on the ship. I also know how much we enjoyed the amenities at the Atlantis (pre-DD).
I'm going to price it out and see. I guess it all depends on how much they are charging for LO.

We are considering driving in late the night before and either staying with a friend or somewhere close to the port.
Mama what ages are your kids, if you have one starting middle school, that would be close to my DD. I am wondering if she will be bored in the Oceaners Club or not being only a month from turning 11.
We have a great day planned at Castaway but I think we are going to take it easy on Nassau day, we may just do discover Atlantis. DH and I did the Atlantis beach day back on our first Disney cruise in 2000 and I felt like I missed out on a few things on the ship and it was an "okay" excursion because of where I live, the beach there was very similar to what I am use too.

What do you have planned for excursions and just in general on the ship. What time is your seating for dinner? I am loving have the 2nd seating but have heard it may not make for a nice viewing of the Pirate party and would have to go to the 2nd portion.

:cool1:Ok working on my 10 posts so I can PM! What is everyone going to use for their FE bag, I see some pretty elaborate ideas out there and I can not sew nor do I want to spend $40 on one. I am real good with a glue gun though.:thumbsup2

Our travel party is our family: me, my partner and our two DS one is 7 and the other is 9

Next door to us are great family friends: DW, DH and their two DS one is 9 and the other is 11.

My friend and I discussed where we thought her older DD will be. I would think that she will be at the tween place (can't think of the name). I think that there are kids that are 10 that get access there but I'm not sure how that works. I don't know if she'd rather go make new friends or stick with her sister and our two boys. I am going to play all of this by ear.

Also, we don't have any "adult" things planned and none of us will mind if the kids are with us the whole time. Although I keep saying that we will be drinking champagne and dancing! I would think that especially on the first night the kids will be happy to go to the club. On the pirate night, I would think they will want to see the fireworks but whatever they choose will work.

Here's our plan as of now... Get to Florida, our flight is due in at 9:00 am, take a car service to the port. We have 11:30 port time so I think it will work out perfectly. We have late seating so we have plenty of time to settle in and explore.

In Nassau we are nearly certain that we will do the Comfort Inn/Atlantis thing. I am torn though, it does seem like fun to stay on the ship and have it to "ourselves".

I am still dreaming about having a Cabana on CC but they were sold out at the 90 day mark when I was able to try to get one. I still check every day to see if one becomes available. I think that we will do the snorkel, float and bike riding package.

I think we will try to get off the ship and take car service to the Contemporary. I am hoping that the kids will be happy enough to hang by the pool until it's time to go to MNSSHP.

I, too, do not want to spend $40 on a FE. I have looked through many of the threads about the FE and saw that some people have uses bags sort of like tote bags. I can also work the glue gun. :thumbsup2 Maybe I should start working on it so it's not that big of a chore.

Mama Lo
I am so glad you have some boys! My DS is 8 so right in the middle of your two. I have read if the kids are within a few months of the age limits of the clubs that it is allowed for them to go up in age group or down if they want to remain with siblings! I don't know what they will want to do and am also going to play it by ear.
I hope we are near you on the ship, we are on deck 9 but I am trying to check on a few things for my stateroom first and haven't gotten the ansers yet.
You will love MNSSHP! we did that a few years back and they really liked it. We may do it again but not for sure yet.

Were going to WDW for a few days prior and staying at BLT. Pretty excited to stay there as it will be our first time at that resort!

For the FE, I think its best to leave it up to each individual person on what they want to do. If you want to do a little something each day, Great. If you want to do one gift for everyone in the stateroom, thats Great too! If you want to do one gift for each person, that fine as well. I don't want to dictate when and how many FE gifts are given out.

I am thinking that a glue gun and some material over cardboard make work nice. Just needs some type of mickey shapes or something! I also read that alot of people have one gift that relates to the hometown of the person delivering which I thought was a nice touch!

Hey Guys- Love seeing all the activity on here! On lunch break trying to keep up!! I have so far officially 7 staterooms with a total of 25 people. This weekend I will PM those that have given me their stateroom number a list so you can start planning.

We decided not to do any excursions, instead we splurged and got a Cabana on Castaway for the day! This will work out great since we are traveling with my brothers family who has a three year old and a 5month old. I have a FE from previous cruise's but I'm making my brothers. I found some little bags at a craft store that I'm going to attach together and then I bought some disney patches that I can glue on!

Augghh!! Back to work I go! Break is over! I will be putting my brothers FE together this weekend, I'll try to post a picture if I can figure how to do that!
