Disney Dream 8th January 2012

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you all know a little bit about our family. This will be our 4th Disney Cruise. We have been on the Wonder twice and the Magic once. This is also a surprise cruise for our kids as my daughter will turn 10 on Jan 10th. They have no idea we are cruising! We have even gone as far as to tell them that we could never afford to go on the Dream.:goodvibes Hopefully it will stay a surprise until that morning. I (Betsy) am a preschool director at our local YMCA and my husband, Rob. is a grain farmer. My mom is coming along for the fun. She is a nanny for twin girls. My son Gannon, is 13 and enjoys soccer, legos and of course, farm equipment. My daughter Emma, is 9 and loves to dance and read. We all love anything Disney related and I am the "go to" person for all things Disney in our neighborhood. We have visited the world as a family around 10 times. This will be our first trip to Universal Studios before the cruise. We are excited about Harry Potter world. Can't wait to meet you!
Lovely to hear a bit more about you, cant wait to meet everybody,

Are we haveing a meet arranged?
Last time there was over a hundred of us:scared1: and we done a meet in a bar, what do you all think? are you guys even fussed? last cruises were 14 and 15 nights so lots and lots of time, this cruise will be a bit rushed:sad1::sad1:

Last time we stayed in orlando we stayed at the hard rock hotel, it was AMAZING, this time we are staying at a place called barefoot in the park.
anyone heard of it, it was cheap ! anyhow, Leonard want to do the harry potter thing, Im not sure what we will be doing, I would love to have a run over to st johns pass in clearwater, we are running half marathon on sat and full on sunday so were not wanting to be walking around:laughing:

Hi! We're not planning on getting off the ship in Nassau. We were there many years ago and were not impressed at all. In fact, the kids were really scared when we walked back to the ship. Also, we used a cab to drive us somewhere and we didn't think we would make it to our destination alive. Really scary. We plan on staying on the ship and enjoying the activities on it.

I agree that riding in any vehicle in Nassau is scary!!!! I am amazed that there are not more collisions!

Whats everybody doing this weekend?

Im working!! ALL weekend.

We went to Steamboat Springs for the "Tour de Steamboat" bike ride, Scott rode the 40 mile route and I rode the 25 mile route, it was a very nice weekend!

Ho Hum, my first night back to work after a few nights off.
I am an emergency vet nurse in a hospital in Edinburgh, I am hoping I dont see much action tonight!!:rolleyes1

Hi just finally booked today. We own a veterinary clinic in Central Ca and I do some emergency work on the side.

We are Ron and Sue and we are bringing both of our kids. Unfortunatley the dogs can't come. One daughter college age and a Son 10 we are really looking forward to this. We have been on the Magic twice. Once in Florida when it was first lauched and once in CA:banana::banana:

The boy is a big leggo fan and video games, he is a big Disney Pirate as well. The daughter is a princess through and through and she loves music and dancing.
Both are almost as big of a Disney fan as their parents are.pirate:princess:pirate:princess:

My son who is 10 is also a big Lego fan and loves the lego video games Maybe they will have fun together

HI Ron and Sue:wave2:Nice to meet you . Ive done emergencys now for 10 years, it can be great or very depressing depending on how things are, if you know what I mean.
Must be very time consuming having your own practice!!
At least if there are any support dogs on the cruise , they will be well looked after!!! hahahahaha.

We also are addicted to the Tour de France, we have it taped so that we can do an early bike ride, then sit and watch it when it is too hot to be outside!

Some spectacular crashes this year, not to mention bizzare.

In the alps this week, I love it, Love switzerland, esp in winter, amazing place, but alps are alps.
We look forward to meeting on the ship I will get some pictures up this weekend

Look forward to it.

We were out of town in a no cell phone nor internet location, so were able to catch the end of the tour via DVR, rather enjoyed the final days.

Got a few other trips and cycling events during the next couple of months, so will check in as we can,

Did Lynn mention we have two malamutes??

No, dont think so, very fluffy doggies!
Enjoy your cycling:thumbsup2

Our plan has come together, Arrive WDW 1/4 or 4/1 (depending on your side of the pond :), Staying at OKW saying hi to running buddies, 1/8 Drive over to port for cruise, After cruise one night at AKL, 1/13 or 13/1 Fly to HNL, stay at Aulani till we fly home 1/19.

We are up for FE and would be up for a meet and greet, I am glad this is a small group, there are several nice bars on the Dream which would work well for a meet. If I may suggest 687 or Sky Line , or District Lounge. Location might be best determined by the number of folks who may attend. Open to all ideas and thoughts.

Lynn and I are both retired, enjoying life. We have sailed on several Disney Cruises, have been DVC members since 1991, enjoy world travel, and all sorts of adventures.

During 2012 we are planning to sail on all 4 Disney Ships, Fantasy MV, Wonder to Hawaii, and the last New England sailing of the Magic.

Looking forward to meeting one and all on this cruise. :thumbsup2

Looking forwrd to meeting you too, do you think the first day/night would be best for a meet? thats what i think but what does everybody else think?

4 disney ships in one year:worship:

I thought I was naughty doing a transatlantic then the panama a few months later butthat is epic.

It will be:

DH (39)...me (turning 38 on the trip)
Wolfhunt(41), Puzzlewoman (35).

We will be having two separate cabins...we are going inside cabin...they are going with a deluxe verandah.

They don't know it yet...but I'm making them a Fish Extender for Christmas...and will probably be making their gift exchange items too.
I can sew...and I just got my first Cricut expression 2 weeks ago. My DD 18 just moved out to her own place with her boyfriend and my sister went off to college in California...so I am designing my sister's room as a craft room for myself.

So now...I just need to come up with something Ingenious...for gifts.

Would be up for a meet and greet...maybe the first night!!

Any of the clubs on offer would be good.:thumbsup2

Glad to see some more people on our cruise. Welcome. Cheeser Good luck with the FE. I bought one on Ebay but want to try to make one for my daughter and grandson. I also just recently got a Expression 2 and I'm still experimenting with what it can do. Hopefully I can come up with something cool as gifts. This is our first cruise, and we're really looking forward to it. My son is running the 1/2 marathon the day before and would like to do the full on Sunday but doesn't think he could walk onto the ship on his own steam. Hopefully we'll have good weather.:yay:
