Disney Dream! 8/15/2012

Wow, I haven't checked this board in FOREVER and I totally missed on the boat on the FE. Darn it. :(

Am I the only one who hasn't given a thought to packing and prep? I just dug out our old "no expire" Disney tickets from 2007 and I'm scratching my head over my "notes" about how many days are left on them. I can't figure it out - another "oh well". Next on the "to do" list is finding our passports. Ack - I seriously need to get organized!

Anyhow, I hope everyone is doing well and getting excited about their upcoming awesome vacation!! :o)

Got our documents yesterday too!

Does anyone have experience with the Disney ground transportation? We're looking at it as option, one way, from the ship to MCO. It would cost us $115, which is in line with what other limo companies are charging. Are there any benefits (i.e. first or last off the ship?).

Thanks!

Tom

I think we got our documents already because we are in Canada. I always seem to get mine just a bit before everyone else does.

I have no experience with the ground transportation. We have never been willing to pay the price for it. For us we find it much more convenient and a lot cheaper to get a rental car and be on our own schedule.

I don't think it gives you any benefit for getting off the ship at a certain time.

I have heard that you have to wait for the bus to fill before it leaves for the airport though. Don't know if there is truth in that statement or not.

Whoo-whoo:cool1:
I didnt get my papers yet ...but its my one month mark...yea!:goodvibes
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
:hyper:We will be at WDW this time next month... ::yes:: :)

I think you're right about the bus needing to be filled up.

After reading some more reviews, I booked Space Port for $98 (one way). I haven't read anything negative about them, and there is no extra costs for car seats, so hopefully I'll be able to provide a positive review as well.

Just about 5 weeks to go!

I think I got my documents today too- do you mean the little booklet with luggage tags? Makes it feel much more real!!

Also, our friends down the street have been contemplating a Disney Cruise with their kids (the older boy being my son's best friend) and they have decided to go on this cruise also! We are not going "together" but will likely do most stuff together- we linked our reservations for meals :) They are huge Disney peeps, they go all the time, but have never done the cruise.

The good thing about a cruise is you can spend as much or as little time together as you want:thumbsup2 Even if you just meet up at dinner and catch up with what everyone has done during the day. Makes the trip more fun.

Just found you!!

We are booked and have received our documents!!!!

Big DW fans but this is our first cruise. Kids are beyond excited. Me too.

Booked stingrays at CC and glass bottom boat trip at Nassau. Kids can't wait to see the clubs!!!

Just joining. I have spent the last 5 days reading all the forums. :surfweb: I have been a Mickey freak my whole life, been to WDW 7 times, the most recent was in February where I ran the Princess Half Marathon. This will be our first DCL cruise. DH and I cruised once in '97 with my family on Celebrity and have wanted to cruise again ever since.

We are doing the glass bottom sub too. i don't think my kids will appreciate Atlantis, would rather do something shorter and go back to the ship to play.

Welcome aboard!!! Where do you both live?

This will be our second cruise on the Dream and have only cruised one other time (on Norwegian) in 2004. DH (41), myself (40), and DS (6 on the day we sail) live in Tampa, FL. We're just an hour away from WDW, have season passes and love going over there whenever we can. I think we're hooked on cruising DCL! Love it!

Are your kids excited or do they not know yet?

We are in Canada. This is our first cruise and we are doing DW after staying at the Pop. I took the girls there for four days two years ago but it was so fast that we had to come back. :)

They found out on my youngest's birthday a few weeks back and they were stunned into silence!! They are NEVER quiet so I knew that they were surprised!!! rotfl

My first visit to the parks was in 1976 and have been back many times since then. :). Can't wait to discover cruising!!!!

What part of Canada are you from? I am also from Canada, southwestern Ontario.
