Ha! I love it!! Thanks for your help. Even though I've already approved your request, I'll answer the questions anyway. Anyone else in the group, feel free to answer as well! Its a little "get to know you" game.

1. Looking forward to a quiet time away from home sharing the "magic" of disney with my children. I can't wait to see their faces light up over and over and over.
2. Late dining -- this has been a topic of discussion in our group. We have young children so it seems the obvious answer would be early dining. But we want to take advantage of the Dine and Dash and the other positive of early dining would be that our kids should be more awake for the early show --- plus, we can get them snacks anytime they want.
3. No port plans yet, suggestions? I think I'm going to let my kids check out the kids part of Castaway Cay and if thats the case, I'm hoping to go snorkeling with my hubby but we haven't discussed any of that yet.
4. I haven't been to Disney very often. My hubby and I stayed at the Contemporary before we had kids and we have great memories from that so I guess I'll just say thats my fav.

I'll answer my own questions.

1) RELAXATION! Also showing my grandkids a new side of Disney. They've all been there a few times before...except Hunter, the baby. It's his first trip!

2) Late dining...we always do late dining but I thought the kids might want early dining for the little ones, but they said no for the same reasons you did.

3) We don't know yet. Hoping to get a cabana on Castaway Cay...

4) I have several, but my top (so far) is the Villa at Wilderness Lodge for DVCe DVC members and are slowly staying at all the different resorts. Next month we are at Boardwalk for the first time!
Now my MOST FAVORITE EVER is the 4 days we spent at Grand Floridian Palm Club for our 30th anniversary!

1. A few things, time with family where no one has to cook/clean. Time away from work, both DH and I work long hours, and time away from cellphones and internet!

2. I believe late dining because even with little kids, we don't like being rushed to get ready for dinner on time. Kids love dine and play.

3. Nothing for Castaway except the 5k and I am not a fan of the Bahamas so maybe staying on ship or DH and I might find a dive shop and go diving. I have never been to Atlantis but it is expensive.

4. I like the resorts I grew up staying in so the Poly and the Contemporary. Such fond memories! I found a pic of my sister sliding down the volcano slide when she was about 5 and loved taking one for her daughter sliding down that slide when she was 5. I remember when we could play in the water at the Poly and there was a wave machine! New hotel favorite is Yacht and Beach Club. Love the location for running and walking to two parks. The pool is pretty sweet also and there is a gym.

5) my favorite park changes..depending on time of year, but if I had to be put on the spot it would have to be Magic Kingdom...it's where I feel the most relaxed and happy. It's where I have to start and end each trip....Definitely Magic Kingdom

6) I have so many memories, but I would say when my grandson David at age 18 months walked up to Minnie Mouse and put his head on her shoulder. Up until this time he didn't really seem to like the characters, giving them all the evil eye....but Minnie....everyone within sight at the Character Spot in Epcot just melted. I cried.

1) looking forward to seeing my 1 year old son on his first Disney cruise.
2) late dining....always late dining
3) possibly Atlantis.....other than that, just relaxing at castaway cay....we've done the stingray encounter 4 times. However. I've always wanted to try the jet-skiing
4) this is really hard. I like so many of them for different reasons. Some of the ones I really like I have never actually stayed at, just visited the restaurants and recreational activities. Based on staying in a room, location, theme, activity, and dining....I would have to say animal kingdom lodge: jambo house. Boma is in my top 5 restaurants on property and I love the savanna.

5. Favorite Disney park would have to be animal kingdom, hands down. It is probably the most under-used and under-appreciated of the four, but there is just something about it. It is the only Disney park in the US Were you can spend an entire day without going on any attractions and still said you saw so much. Between the photo taking opportunities and the animals, it is awesome. And just to annoy WVURUNNER....Universal Orlando has a ton of stuff to offer that Disney doesn't....I cannot wait to have a Krusty burger and a bucket of Kentucky fried panda this summer!!!!!
6. Favorite Disney memory isn't in the parks but on the cruise line. Disney wonder April 28th, 2008 when. Asked my wife to Marry her at palo. The cast member said that the ring would be in the dessert. After my wife was almost done with her dessert and didn't find a ring, I started to panic and grabbed her dessert and starting searching through it. Aft that, I grabbed her grandmothers dessert (se was with us as well) and started going through her dessert and then finally my own!!! After our sever saw my panic, he immediately came rushing over with like 4 other servers and a custom dessert that had the ring inside of it......the ring was inside of a chocolate clam and it said will you ???

So....whenever I make a mistake, which is quite often....you are the first to correct me. So as a good friend, I see no reason why I shouldn't do the same. The wave machine you a referring to was only around for a short while in 1971. It was causing tremendous beach erosion on the Polynesians beaches, so they had it removed. It was located on beachcomber island across from the Polynesian. You can actually see where it used to be when you are taking the ferry boat to the magic kingdom!!!

My favorite park is Epcot! I love Test Track and always go on it. I have not been on the new test track but it looks fun. I also like the countries. It is really fun and has the missions you can go on.

My favorite disney memory was the first time I went to disney when I was tall enough to go on Test Track. I loved Test Track and always will. I wonder if the new Test Track is better.

The wave machine you a referring to was only around for a short while in 1971. It was causing tremendous beach erosion on the Polynesians beaches, so they had it removed. It was located on beachcomber island across from the Polynesian. You can actually see where it used to be when you are taking the ferry boat to the magic kingdom!!!

I stand corrected, I remember swimming in seven seas lagoon and playing in the wakes from the boats! Though I find it hard to believe beach erosion was the only reason why it failed. That should have been a relatively easy fix by an awesome environmental engineer! To bad I wasn't around yet....

Sorry buddy but I am about to embarrass you! This just made me laugh because one of my favorite memories is when you were tall enough to ride test track and you threw a fit because you didn't want to go on and were scared of it. Your mom told you that you didn't have to go and I looked at her and told her I was going to be a mean aunt and picked you up screaming and crying I carried you through the line. People thought I was crazy! I strapped you in and told you I would hold your hand and you loved every second of it! When we got off, everyone was giving you high fives and we rode it again! And then Jon bought you a test track pin! Your mom to this day can't understand how I can talk you into things! without that moment, I would never have gotten you on California Screamin in December or zip lining!

Epcot is also my favorite. And the missions have changed in the countries from Kim Possible to Phines and Ferb. Your Mom needs to take you! It has been too long.

It was a bunch of reasons.....only resort manager thought it was a good idea. WED had nothing to do with it....it was designed and installed by an outside company....between the erosion and the machine constantly breaking, Disney couldn't wait to get rid of it

The Walt Disney world marathon weekend events went on sale today including the 5k (Thursday 1/9) the 10k (Friday 1/10), the half marathon (1/11) and the full marathon (1/12). If anyone is doing all 4 (the dopey challenge) or the half and the full (goofy challenge) good luck! I'm doing the 5k, 10k, and the half and I think that's plenty!!!
