Is it possible to get either or both of these in the parks? And in which denominations are they available. Tried to "Search" but it has been disabled at this time, so thanks for any info. Trying to give some spending money to DD as a surprise. Thanks, again!

You can get either Dis Dollars ($1, $5 or $10 bills) or a D World Gift Card in any increment.

You can also buy Disney Dollars at Disney Store locations in Canada if there is one nearby. You could use them as allowance. The Gift Cards, however, aren't good at the parks.

pixiedust: On our "Girls only" trip for MNSSHP we bought the card at Everything POP and used it instead of cash. We used it everywhere. I didn't have to worry about carrying cash for anything. It was well worth it.

Is there anywhere or anything that those cards can't be used at in WDW? I'm thinking about getting my dd one for her 13th birthday trip in Oct. since she will be with a gf that is also celebrating her 13th, it would be nice to give each girl a card to use in the parks for food/gifts they wanted. They could go off on their own and the moms wouldn't have to worry about room keys, and the girls would feel really grown up.

Debbie- Just to clarify my other post on the WDW gift card, it IS different than then Disney Store gift card. Only the WDW gift card can be used at WDW, and it can only be purchased at WDW. DDollars can be purchased at The Disney Store.

Goofy4tink- I'm sitting here trying to think of a place you CAN'T use the gift card, and I can't think of one.

I ordered my WDW gift card over the phone. I believe you can have up to $1500.00 put on the card. They are not reloadable over the phone only at WDW. I believe the number I called was 407-363-6200 (hours of operation)
M-F 9am-10pm S & S 9am-8am. I had no problems using the card. I was even able to use the card at one of the disney discount store's in Orlando :thumbsup2 Susan

Where else can you get the card for WDW? I assume maybe at the World of Disney store? Would the resort gift shops have them?

I don't know how old your dd is but my kids loved the disney dollars. It was more like money than a card. Plus my son is at the age of learning to budget and count money. And you can buy anything with them!

I was told I could refill them at any of the WDW(parks) and Resort gift shops,so I would guess you could also purchase them there. Susan

I wish you could use the WDW card on Disney Cruise Line...I got one for Christmas from my parents as we normally go to WDW in feb/march. But we are taking the 10 day southern carrib. cruise in 9/06, instead of our feb/march & sept trips to WDW. I am trying to sneak in a long weekend at some point..but DH getting more vacation time will be hard.

They had them at Old Key West and Beach Club gift shop last week.

On TV in our hotel room they showed gift cards at the water parks that had a wrist strap attached to them so you could carry them with you in the water and not worry about losing them or needing to carry $$ or going back to your locker for $$. They didn't say whether or not they could be used everywhere on WDW, but I assume they can since all Disney-brand money can be. Might be something worth asking when you call.

I don't see why you couldn't do the same with any gift card at home. You could punch a hole in the corner opposite the magnetic strip and hang it on a necklace or something. May be a little safer since you can hide it under a shirt or something and not just attached to a wrist band.

Thanks for the information. My DD's are 12 and 15. They haven't been to WDW since 2003, although I was there twice last year (½ Marathon, and a sisters trip). Every time that I am on DIS, I have one or t'other over my shoulder breathing, "Look at those countdown clocks." "I wish WE were going to Disney." I'd like to go on an "inexpensive" :rotfl2: jaunt this summer, if I can get some cheap flights out of Buffalo or Detroit. I figure if we go Wednesday to Tuesday, we'll have a better shot at the cheap fares. I have a friend going to WDW during March break, and I'll have her pick up something to surprise the girls with. I was afraid that they had done away with the Disney Dollars when the cards came out. Thanks for all the help!
