I would add last year they had accidentally ordered wheelchairs for myself and my sister. The guy was so pushy I felt I had to use it even though I have a vision problem not a mobility one. It was very odd being pushed everywhere and I can understand not wanting to do it but if its the better option then I would take it.

Why not Buy or Borrow a wheelchair ?

We're from Cork ourselves. we're getting a mobility scooter for him when we're there. It easier as we have young children. Ill talk to him again about the wheel chair for the airports. Ill approach it slowly. Thanks so much for all your help and info. Hope you enjoy your next trip.

It travels Free on the plane . ( It is taken from Aircraft door to Hold )

I would have been lost without it.

No point in being miserable ... tell your Dad.... swallow the pride . & enjoy himself

We are in Douglas ,

We take the Aircoach from St.Patricks Quay Direct to Dublin Airport ( it costs €25 return )

No Hassle unlike going by train ( free travel ) BUT then Bus which takes an hour & costs € 10 return


For Wheel chair try The Mobility ( ? ) at Little Island ( Turn Right into estate Harvey Norman will be on your left on other road

Up at the far end & on Left after the health Insurance co.

because if you only need it in the airport, you're better off with the airport people pushing you around..
they have access to shortcuts, that you don't have access to with your own wheelchair..
and they know their way around...
why not let someone else do the work of pushing the chair...
so convenient..

Correct but knowing Dublin airport as I do there are very few short cuts to take .

and If you wish to buy at duty free & have a meal the assistant will not be with you.

If you are unable to walk then bringing your own is the way to go.

We were able to see D.S, use the boats ( on first ) , & use Monorail & busses

with me being pushed . ... Without wheelchair none of this could have happened.

............

In August we will bring my wheelchair to Amsterdam & will use it at the theme parks there.

Hopefully by the end of the year I will have another Knee Replacement & after that

Who Knows ?
