Great! As a RN now I have a wider opportunity, but am staying in the home care area at the moment, maybe some hospital or preferably wound care. I hope to be back in school in 5 years for my BSN (if I decide to continue, which is most likely) I have some other classes to get out of the way before I can do that (pre-reqs)

Absolutely! They should come for a visit...tell her there is so much to do/see in San Antonio area! (Sea World, Fiesta Texas, River Walk, Alamo...) hmmm, does she like margaritas?!?!?!![]()
We LOVE Chuy's!!!I had the best drink I think I've ever had in my life at Chuy's restaurant. It was a margarita, and it was made with chili-infused tequila, so it was hot and spicy. It was called something like the new Mexican margarita, so if you ever get to the Chuy's in San Antonio, it's worth a try. I swear I'd move across the country for that drink alone, lol!
Then take advantage of your current location and book that Alaskan cruise and hit Beechers for mac & cheese!Unfortunately, dh is not currently on the list of employees to be transferred to TX, so it doesn't look like we'll be moving, at least not in the near future. But Austin is for sure on our short list of places we'd be willing to relocate to, if the opportunity arose.
And if I haven't said it yet, I'm so jealous about you going to the F&WF next year. The 1st week in October is the week I really wanted, mainly for that reason, but because we come so far we always stay for 2 weeks, and I couldn't quite justify taking the kids out of school for that long again. At least not right now--give me one or two more of those spicy margaritas and I'm liable to change my mind!
Kristin, you might not have lived in San Antonio when I was last there but I am still sorry I did not run into you there. My bil took us to some fancy steak house, think it had San Francisco in the name. They had a girl in a swing that kicked a cow bell on each swing. The waitresses were so old that they just appeared to have net stockings on, with runs and sags and bags. The food was alright but nowhere near worth the huge cost. I remember the cost well as I picked up the tab.![]()

Have you been to all the tourist places? I find that folks seldom visit the place they live in. SG
Politics aside, they were a cool couple...Diva K, I was a Presidential Scholar back in the day and once refused to shake hands with LBJ (Vietnam differences). Folks made fun of Lady Bird for her beautification program but when I see the wild flowers in bloom they make me smile. I figure they save a lot in highway maintenance also. When I am lost I miss the signs though.![]()
Packing my bag...I'm invited right???I love to explore odd corners of the world. It was always my dream to go to Europe for at least six months, rent places here and there, long term, and see not only the top sites but get to learn how others live and such.
LOVE Rick Steves!!! Samantha Brown too!Ahhh, yes but you 'knew' them in LBJ's older days. I knew him when he was a bit of a hound dog. I would give Lady Bird the credit there. History and old age has given me the idea that he meant well though. Most do.
Of course you are invited. Since I what I want to do is called 'self catering' we would be doing much of our own cooking or do a Steve Soares and drop by small shops and pick up a bit of something and have picnics with the locals. Your tastes in food are the same as mine. Tea, always HAVE to have tea.
I have an Eurorail pass book next to my bed and I often read a page to give me something to dream about. You can rent a place for a month and then take day trips around the area easily with the transport system there. When you run out of things to see you move on to another area. Moral of this story, do your dreams while you can!!

Whats the difference? Is one worn inside (under clothing) and the other worn outside...does it serve a purpose (protection I assume) or just decoration?By the way it is called a Sporron and not a codpiece in a Scottish outfit.![]()

Are you awake now?!?!?It does not do to chat with me early in the morning as my brain does not kick into gear until early afternoon.![]()
