Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

I went back in to reprice my stay and it's 10 pounds more per night than it was before (was 78 pounds, now 88 pounds). That's without the discount. Guess I should have just bit the bullet and booked but I didn't. :(

I waited one day too long for the ebates deal. :faint: Keep checking back on the boards, it seems like new offers are popping up all the time but you have to be ready to go when you see it. I like to think things over unfortunately. :worried:

I'm pretty sure that plan still requires a full priced room booked through Disney.

Yea, was just reading about it. I was thinking how awesome it would be to do expedia uk for the room, orbitz/ebates for tickets, and have ability to add the dining plan. But nope - too good to be true! We rented DVC points for OKW or I would so be on this expedia uk deal. I kept pricing out AKL. Maybe next year!

I need some help and I don't have time to go back through the thread. The reason is my 94 year old dad broke his hip today and is having surgery tomorrow and either way the surgery goes I cannot go on my March 8 trip. Can I change the date on Expedia UK or do I just have to cancel? Thanks.
Have you tried an email to customer support, otherwise check out Expedia's 'Manage Trips' which takes you to 'How do I change or cancel a hotel reservation' where it states.....

Change dates or hotel
If you want to travel on different dates or want to change hotels, you need to cancel and rebook the reservation online.
Go to My Itineraries
Open the itinerary
Click "Cancel this reservation"
Review the refund and fee details before finalizing the cancellation
Refunds are issued within 7 to 10 days, but your bank or credit card company may not show a credit on your account until the end of the next billing cycle.
Once your current reservation is cancelled, go ahead and book the reservation you want.

Hope your Father's operation goes well and you can sort out another vacation.

Anyone know of a way to book a CL room at AKL this way? We really want to do the sunrise safari, but expedia UK doesn't list any of the CL rooms, even though they show as available direct from Disney.
We've not seen any club level rooms at AKL on UK-Expedia but there's still a few club's with reasonable savings at other resorts and here's an example.
Yacht Club Resort Standard View Club Level at £231.54 ($386) per night.
Between 28th August-15th October; 17th-28th October; 30th October-7th November and 13th November-7th December.
Rack rate over those dates varies between $563-$757.
So that's a savings between $177 and $371 per night or between 31%-49% with the best savings over Thansgiving and Columbus weekend.

Well I just booked a 1 night stay @ Pop through the UK site! I'm going to be in GA for work and I figured the best way to break up the 2 week trip was by renting a car and driving 3 short hours to my happy place over the weekend to stay for the night! :cool1:

This is a real budget trip -- I'm not even entering the parks -- so I was glad to save a few bucks.

Here the breakdown:
UK Expedia $120 (including 3% transaction fee)
US Expedia $197 (same room category)
Rack Rate $175 (same room category)

FWIW, I called my CC company (used my Disney Visa) and told them I'd be making the purchase, they added a "note" to my accound and the purchase was still denied. 3 times. So, I called back and they acknowledged the note and the denied transactions, worked some kind of magic, then I was able to book (they stayed on the line with me to make sure it went through).

My reservation went from BOOKED to CONFIRMED in a matter of seconds.

Now to decide where to have dinner on Saturday...

I booked CS from 10/2-10/7 for $680 when on Disney it's $1063 so saved $383!

Good for you!!! Sounds like a great plan!

*I was going to book using my Disney Visa and was wondering if they charged you a foreign transaction fee? Please let me know! Thanks and have a GREAT time!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this thread and keep it updated! We just planned a rather last minute Spring Break trip and got All Star Music regular room for $996.50 for 7 nights compared to $1,301 directly with WDW. Not as much of a discount as some others have received, but we'll take any savings we can get!

I was able to enter the confirmation number into MDE, it's the first time I have used the new system so was relieved it worked. :) I also started to set up the Magical Express till I realized we didn't have our flights booked yet. :upsidedow

A giant thank you to the poster that gave us all this info, without the discount we would not have booked the trip. :goodvibes

Thank you for your kind words and it's good to read that there's still some reasonable savings to be made on last minute breaks.
But keep checking Expedia, WDW-Spring Savers and the Disboards just in case a better offer crops up as you can cancel up to 5-days before check-in and receive a full refund (less any currency fluctuations or CC fees).
Have a wonderful spring vacation and hope we both have amazing weather as we're also at WDW in March. :thumbsup2

Glad all's working well with your first MDE and from NY you should have a good selection of flights and prices so best of luck with the planning those and we're over the moon to read that without the discount then maybe there would be no trip, so many thanks for your kind words and as above please keep checking just in case a better rate crops up. :thumbsup2

Hopefully this might be worth exploring for a family reunion of up to 9 guest.

Dates are from Sunday 24th August, all September and some dates in October and November.
It's in a Treehouse Villa at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa for £318.25 per night ($532).

Rack rate varies between $797 and $958 so saving between $265 and $426 per night.

There can't be many opportunities to secure one of only sixty 3-bed treehouse villas and with saving between 33% and 45% on rack along with an option to cancel, hope someone can make it work for them.

I booked Feb. 6th and my reservation still has not changed from Confirmed to a Reservation number. I e-mailed Expedia twice and didn't hear back. My trip isn't until December so I wasn't too concerned but I had a minute today and called Disney. The first person I talked to was able to get my res. number without going through Tech Support - he just looked it up by my name and dates. Now I can finally go see how all of this MDE stuff works!

I am very interested to hear from folks after their stay at WDW, because my only concern at this point (after booking) is whether Disney will tack on the dreaded state and local resort taxes which would be equal to 12.5% additional. The fine print on Expedia's site mentioned it could be a possibility. If they do, it severely diminishes the savings. Hope they don't.

I saw that too, but thought maybe I read it wrong because nobody else has brought up this concern. I am trying to figure out what my 12.5% taxes would be based on...my price paid in US Dollars, or the rack rate in US Dollars? :confused3

How long does it typically take to get a Disney reservation number? My Expedia itinerary ha said "confirmed" for several days now.

I got mine when it changed to confirmed. You can email them or try messaging them on Facebook, either way make sure to give them the itinerary number. I asked a question by messaging them on Facebook & they had the Customer Service team from the Expedia UK site email me within an hour.

I've never had to pay anything above the US Expedia price before when I've used them for other trips, I guess we'll see about the tax with this site. For us at least even with the that additional tax it's still less than any trip I've priced out before for the same hotel/number of nights.

You already paid taxes to Expedia, there won't be any additional taxes to pay.
