Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

Just wanted to add, along with the reassurances of others, that once I linked my reservation with MDE, the reservation on WDW's site states "Balance Due: $0". I have 3 reservations for 2014 linked to MDE, 1 of them for DVC rented points, 1 booked directly with Disney, and this one, which is the only one to reflect a zero balance. I take that as a good sign :)

Yes a good sign, our 1-night booking shows - Remaining Balance: $0.00 USD -

We presume that if you've made a booking directly with Disney and only paid a deposit then the Remaining Balance will show accordingly until paid in full.

Actually, my reservation that I booked directly with Disney, does not reflect any payment/balance information on MDE ...nor does the ressie using DVC rented points, for which I used a broker and have paid in full. I think perhaps the Expedia reservation has this info because it is a third party. Just speculation on my part, of course.

After 8 days, 2 emails and a post on the expedia uk FB site, I finally received my confirmation #!

I am all set for the end of May.

See you then.

Thanks OP!

What did you say in your email? I sent a very short email yesterday asking for my Disney confirmation number, and so far no response.

Not on Facebook, so hopefully email will work.

My first email indicated that my reservation had changed from "Booked" to "Confirmed: #Confirmed", and that I needed the number.

Their reply is posted above indicating that I should call them.

I emailed back that since I was in the U.S. that was cost prohibitive, and I would prefer to deal through email if at all possible.

Yesterday I messaged through their FB account, and this a.m. I had an email that looked like it came from me, but was a confirmation with a #. If I log onto expedia.co.uk, it still doesn't have the number posted, but since I have it, and have printed off the email and linked through MDE, I am fine.

Good luck!

I get that some of you are nervous, but really, it's totally legitimate. I have a reservation linked on MDE, MB shipping tomorrow, and my ME documents have already arrived. There is really not much that could happen at this point IMHO. If I showed up at Pop and they said "you don't have a room," all it would take would be to show my MDE and my Expedia UK confirmation e-mail.

Agree with this. It's the same as booking with a US third party for all Disney cares. Nothing to be nervous about.

For most dates between Sunday 24th August through to check out 8th December, you can get a standard room for up to 4-adults at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge at £116 per night, that's about $192 and as normal there seems to be no supplement for weekends or holidays such as Thanksgiving and Columbus.

Disney's rack rate varies over those dates between $319 through to $439 on Columbus dates of Oct 10-12 and $451 on Thanksgiving dates of Nov 25-28.

Hope this helps someone but please note these are room only bookings, you cannot add a dining plan.

Can someone please provide the customer support email... i clicked it and it wont do anything. I need to email them about a refund and they charged my card but didnt issue a refund after i cancelled. I know it can take a few days but just would like a little help. Thanks

In case people are looking for August, they really aren't discounting those like some of the other dates people are posting, so you aren't doing anything wrong if it's not as exciting.

That final week of August has a couple good deals, like CSR is $5 less than the normal discount Disney always gives, or the AKL being lower. Other moderates are more expensive through Expedia than through Disney and the discounts are more in the 20% range, which if you want a month or two Disney will give you anyways. (which can effect how you are paying and save you in different ways)

I said this on the other thread, but if you are looking for a deluxe discount for late August, you should go read some of the resort specific threads on the resorts board and look into travel agencies. I have a Poly stay booked that is nearly half of the Expedia.uk quote I just got and is in line with the discounts others are reporting for earlier and later dates on this thread.

So, so frustrated. I finally got the Disney confirmation number (after two emails and one phone call - from them, at least, so I didn't have to pay for an international call).

BUT now when I called Disney to sign up for Magical Express they said I have to do that through Expedia!

Is this correct??

Anyone who booked through Expedia but signed up for ME through Disney, please let me know how you did it!

You can book the Magical Express through the following link online: www.disneysmagicalexpress.com. Really easy to do! Hope this helps!

I need someone with more money sense than me...
I was trying to follow the conversation about paypal a couple pages ago, but am struggling.
1. Is it better to pay with paypal balance or CC (if I don't have a no fee CC)

2. Should I choose pounds or US dollars as my payment method (or is this not a choice with paypal?)

Thank you to anyone who can help!

Yes, that is how we did it as well. We have received our ME booklet/tags for our March trip.

Thanks! I really don't know how people accurately plan if they have to rely on Disney cast for answers. Just this morning I got two totally wrong answers to two not very complex questions - really, do the CMs not know ME can be booked on line?

One more question - how much time does ME need to send out the luggage tags and whatever else they send? We leave two weeks from today - is that enough time? (Not that it would be a big deal not to get them - but we are checking one bag and it would be nice to just have it appear in our room.)

Thanks again to all who have answered my questions - this board is so awesome :)

Hello all,
I just wanted to report back that I finally heard back from ExpediaUK customer support in regards to the 10% discount. I had booked a stay and then became aware of the 10% discount. I chose not to cancel and rebook, and then emailed to see if they would apply the discount in the form of a refund. Well, they did! They are crediting my card the 10%. It should show up within 5 business days. Fantastic customer support!!:thumbsup2

The ME site says that it will mail out luggage tags and vouchers approx 42 days prior to your trip. You simply attach the luggage tag to your suitcase and like :wizard: it appears in your room.

Not sure if anyone else already posted this... I just looked at MDE and there is a different confirmation number listed. I'll take all three along just in case. :)

I'm sitting in my Canadian hotel that I booked through the expedia.co.uk. So in my opinion ... This works. ;)

What is the 10% discount? I cannot do a search for it and I am about ready to book. TIA.
