Disney discounted room only offer on UK-Expedia; ended 31 March.

The promo code was also limited to travel dates between 11th Feb and 11th May 2014.

And as rooms are booking up there's notably less availability especially later in the year for the cheapest nights at the Yacht Club.

Garden view room, 27th August-19th September at £144 ($240) per night against a rack rate between $400-$428.

Club Level in a standard view 27th August-29th October at £209 ($348) per night against a rack rate between $563-$757.

There are some dates still available up to 7th December at the Yacht with the highest savings being made over weekends and Columbus Day.

The code is STAYSAVEFEB but as mentioned according to the terms there are a number of hotels that it can't be used for and it looks like WDW is included. It also says that only legal residents of UK can use it, although others have stated it has worked for them. It is good for travel only through May 11th.

Anyone had luck paying through PayPal? I keep getting error messages that it can't complete the booking. I want to use a Discover Card but it doesn't look like Expedia UK accepts Discover so I'm trying to do it through PayPal with no luck :confused3

I think someone mentioned that you may have to notify your CC company ahead of the purchase.

Okay, I think I did it! I used my Discover Card because they don't charge a foreign transaction fee. I got my email from UK Expedia saying "Thank you for booking with Expedia! Your booking is confirmed."

Here are the details:
Wilderness Lodge, Standard Room November 22-29 (Thanksgiving Week)
Rack Rate through Disney with tax- $2968
Expedia UK rate with tax- $1565 (£937)

That's 48% off!! That's better than any code or pin I have ever seen, especially during a holiday week.

Did you use paypal or just your CC? What was the exchange rate today?

WTG Dallas! What was the exchange rate today and did you use paypal or just your CC?

I just used my CC and not Paypal. There wasn't the option for a Discover Card but I read on the Discover website that you select Diners Club when using it Internationally (https://www.discover.com/credit-cards/help-center/faqs/international.html#q1). The exchange rate is 1.67 today, which is a little higher than when I first started looking but the rate for the room had gone down a few pounds.

I have a quick question if anyone knows. I canceled the AKL room and rebooked at Yacht Club. The akl room was linked to mde. Will it come off by itself or should I call Disney?

Thanks Dallas and congrats on a great deal. We have DVC at Wilderness Lodge and LOVE it there! We had always gone at Thanksgiving time and liked it. But my daughter is in middle school and misses too much to take her out of school. I'm not sure if you have gone at that time or not but just be sure to book any ADL's as soon as you can. It is quite busy there at that time and we saw many people upset thinking that they would be able to eat anywhere they wanted not knowing any better. I am looking at booking a moderate for 3 days before my husband arrives and have been going back and forth on booking through Expedia as I got a better rate than a value through AAA. Just nervous about taking the plunge. Thanks for sharing!
:thumbsup2

It will come off by itself. Mine took about 3 days to drop off.

That's great news Dallas_Lady and thanks for posting your figures as it does highlight the huge savings ($1,400) that can be secured over Thanksgiving in a deluxe resort and with the knowledge that you can cancel if a better offer comes along.

And if we look at some closer dates and at the other end of the market there's still a few value-rooms for stays between 3rd March through to 13th April for 2-adults and up to 2-children at Disney's All-Star Sports Resort.

Preferred room at £59.72 ($100) per night against Disney's non-discounted rack rate between $149-$204.

Also a standard room for most of the above dates at £53.83 ($90) per night against Disney's non-discounted rack rate of between $123-$186.

Biggest savings for weekend nights, weekdays not so much so there might be a better US discount which we don't know off.

And so to compare the above nightly rates, has anyone found a lower room only price for the above dates and resort to the general public or though offers like annual pass-holder, etc....., as we don't want to keep highlighting the UK-prices if they're currently not the best on offer, many thanks.....:thumbsup2

I hope someone can help me as I am terrible with conversion of currency. The rate paypal is using is giving a little less than the converter sites I have been using so is anyone savvy enough to tell me what the USD price would be with Paypal's rate?

The amount is one night so its $92.23 GBP and paypal rate says 0.582366 British pound per $1 US dollar

thanks for any help!

DianeV, divide the British pounds by the conversion rate given to get the Dollar value. I calculate $158.37 for what you posted. Keep in mind that your card may also charge a fee to convert currencies. I used a Discover card which does not.

Thank you! I was actually going to use a Paypal balance so I am hoping there isn't any other fee

I am so sorry if I'm beating a dead horse here, but I just want to clarify. If I book my room through this deal and then buy tickets through Undercover Tourist, will we still be able to take advantage of the whole Fast Pass +/Magic Band thing?

Yes you will.

I'm a little nervous. Does it say anywhere that you have to be from the UK, or can I use this deal even though I'm from Canada? I'm hoping that some where down the line they don't void my reservation?

Thanks for any guidance you can give me!

There is nothing to be nervous about, they won't cancel anything. They don't care where you're from as long as they get their $.
