I just got my first annual pass. I have read about DDE, but I was wondering, if I buy it is it good for the next year or just until the end of this calendar year (12/08). I think I'll be going twice in the next year and it might be a good deal for me. Any opinions on this plan? If I am at the table and charge the meal to my room, I can have up to nine extra guests that will also get the discount, right? Help me decide if I should invest the $60. Thanks!

We use the DDE and love it. When you purchase it, it's good for 12 months from the month you purchase it. It's not based on a calendar year and it's not tied to the expiration date of your AP.

Yes, you and 9 guests can get the discount. We are requested to show the DDE card and ID (sometimes) when we use it.

We just returned after being there a week, 4 adults. We ate signatures almost every night and our discount for the week was over $400. You get the discount on alcoholic beverages too, if you are so inclined to drink.

You will have an 18% automatic gratuity added to your bill. It will be on your ticket and so will the discounts you are given for food and alcohol.

Yes they are, I read a list of participating TS places here on the Dis...I am buying for the first time in April.

We've had the DDE for 2 1/2 years and haven't found a Disney TS restaurant in the parks and resorts that doesn't accept it. The restaurants in Downtown Disney don't accept it (because they aren't Disney restaurants) with the exception of Raglan Road (I think). Don't forget to use should you have lunch in a TS restaurant. You're going to love it -- it's a real money saver!

While this is true places like Fulton's offers a 10 or maybe 20 percent discount for AP holders (can't remember). Same goes for RF and even tho Yak and Yeti didn't take the DDE they did give us an AP discount. The DDE was even good for the "grab and go" at CT at FW. Anytime we eat at either TS or CS we always ask about both. We really saved since the pre paids for the Spirit of Aloha and CRT already have the gratuity in the cost so the savings was considerable, around $20 for the Spirit of Aloha and around $13 for CRT.
