Matt now holds white, yellow and orange in jui jitsu as well as white, yellow, orange and now green in ishinru karate. Not bad for 7 years old.

My computer and camera aren't speaking right now, so I can't download pictures.
Steffy you do seem to have problems with electronics and electricity
I'm going to decorate the tree with DGD. Have to go shopping with DD. Have to wrap. Love to you all. You are my Santa Clause!!![]()

Well, gotta go. I also want to try some of the recipes! Gotta go grocery shopping too!![]()
My MIL made these this year, only she used a Rolo candy for the Kiss, and a pecan on top instead of M&M. EASIEST turtles ever and they were SOOOOO delicious!triplefigs said:I've got a great and FUN candy for you. It was in Family Fun magazine last year. I'll look for the recipe. I make these for all holidays and just change the color of the kiss and M&M (ie white kiss with red candy for Valentine's). They are absolutely delicious, and a tradition around here now. The kids love helping make them.

Holiday Pretzel Treats

Salty pretzels combine with sweet chocolate for these fun treats that make a yummy gift few can resist. (In fact, you may want to make some extras for yourself!)
INGREDIENTS:Bite-size, waffle-shaped pretzels
Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug
M&M's candy![]()
1. Heat the oven to 170º. Set a number of bite-size, waffle-shaped pretzels (one for each treat) in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, then top each pretzel with an unwrapped Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug.
2. Bake for 4 to 6 minutes (the white chocolate will melt more quickly), until the chocolates feel soft when touched with a wooden spoon. Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and quickly press an M&M's candy into the center of each Kiss.
3. Allow the treats to cool for a few minutes, then place them in the refrigerator to set, about 10 minutes. Place handfuls of the candies in clear plastic bags and tie on colorful ribbons.

May have to try it your way....kids LOVE M&M's but don't like the pecans!
Sounds like a lot of fun! We normally do tons (think 12+ kinds of cookies each year, crafts, homemade gifts, etc) but with the move and kids in school and lots of family emergencies the last 6 monthstriplefigs said:Yummy! Now I have something new to try next week. Thanks for the tip! The kids and I are baking cookies and sweets on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I'm getting my grocery list together. Tomorrow we're making a gingerbread house. The gingerbread men were great today, and they want to make a house like at the GF!

And we leave for WDW tomorrow to stay until Friday! Good thing, yes, but I've SO run out of time for our usual Christmas festivites! You can imagine how stressed I've been all week with everything haveing to be done by today!

We have one of those gingerbread house kits someone sent us. Think we may take it with us to do one evening at the hotel. Kids will love it and we'll get a taste of our usual Christmas activitiesThanks for the reminder!

I can't find the mom's phone number (they just moved here) so I called my friend who has had the child over to her home before. She said he LOVES candy canes (and would want that more than what I'm making) so I'm going to dress his up like Rudolph or something. We'll still make our treats and I'll put them in ziploc bags. They do share time right before they leave so his teacher (I've already talked to her) will put the cookies in their bags as they're leaving. He won't be in contact with the bags or with any child who has eaten something with peanuts/traces of peanuts in it. Both the teacher and my friend have discussed his allergies with the mom and they both think this is fine.
He breaks out in hives so his allergy is not life threatening, but I don't want to endanger him in any way.
So...does anyone have ideas for dressing up a candy cane?
