OHHHHH!!! Nutter Butters are my favorite cookies and those reindeer are adorable......almost look to good to eat. Who am I kidding I would eat them in a heartbeat :rotfl:
The picture with the recipe also showed chocolate Nutter Butters. I haven't seen those in the store but they made even cuter reindeer!

I think you and I may be the only ones up Bengalbelle.....

I can't wait to get more time this week to do a little more baking...I will look tommorow to see if I can find chocolate nutter butters. If I find them I will tell you!!

I just copied the recipe for Muddy Buddies (we call it Puppy Chow) from the link you listed Bengalbelle -- I will go through all of them when I'm not this tired! I have to head to bed - Goodnight all!

I've got a great and FUN candy for you. It was in Family Fun magazine last year. I'll look for the recipe. I make these for all holidays and just change the color of the kiss and M&M (ie white kiss with red candy for Valentine's). They are absolutely delicious, and a tradition around here now. The kids love helping make them.

Holiday Pretzel Treats

Salty pretzels combine with sweet chocolate for these fun treats that make a yummy gift few can resist. (In fact, you may want to make some extras for yourself!)

INGREDIENTS:
bullet_small.gif
Bite-size, waffle-shaped pretzels
bullet_small.gif
Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug
bullet_small.gif
M&M's candy

1. Heat the oven to 170º. Set a number of bite-size, waffle-shaped pretzels (one for each treat) in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, then top each pretzel with an unwrapped Hershey's Kiss or Hershey's Hug.

2. Bake for 4 to 6 minutes (the white chocolate will melt more quickly), until the chocolates feel soft when touched with a wooden spoon. Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and quickly press an M&M's candy into the center of each Kiss.

3. Allow the treats to cool for a few minutes, then place them in the refrigerator to set, about 10 minutes. Place handfuls of the candies in clear plastic bags and tie on colorful ribbons.

Be careful bengalbell in using a recipe with chocolate. The equipment they use is also used to make the chocolate with nuts. If the child is super allergic to peanuts, chocolate is not 100% peanut free.

We feel more comfortable excluding chocolate product cookies from my DGS's diet. There is a warning on the labels for people with peanut allergies.

I'd stick with the sugar cookies.

We didn't even allow him a Mickey bar in WDW. I don't mean to sound alarmist, but I know you'd want to err on the side of safety.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news.... that recipe from Denise is great.... BUT.... Hershey kisses are made on the same machine as peanut candies and are not considered safe in the peanut allergy world. I know this first hand. My nephew spent fathers day 04 in pediatric intensive care because he had ONE small bite of a kiss. He found one that they were putting in goodie bags for the older nephew's birthday, took a small bite and was nearly dead less than a minute later. It took two eppie pens to keep him alive before the ambulance got there. He happens to be highly allergic, however, nobody with an allergy would be safe.

Oh, the packaging at that time was not labled as possibly containing peanuts. I don't know if that has changed. I thought you should know.

I just came on and responded the same way. Chocolate is not peanut free. I wouldn't chance it.

bengalbell, your cookies look adorable, as does your ds.

Needless to say, the kid with the allergies gets the candy cane reindeer! Good workaround!! :goodvibes

I'm off to bed. It's 3 o'clock in the morning and we just got home from shopping. Haven't wrapped a thing. Haven't addressed a card. Haven't turned on the oven.

Oy.

I am so behind.... :cloud9:

Thank you!

(And thanks to whomever gave tips on how to "lift" photos from PhotoPass! :rotfl: )

Was that the print screen tip? If not could you PM and share with me too?

Oh boy we were a quiet group yesterday. I left around 1pm when I got on about 30 minutes ago we had only posted about 5 pages.
Where was Kate yesterday? :confused3

Here are pictures of the treats we made tonight. Both were really easy and very cute! DS will tell about making them for Share Time on Monday and we're sending them to school for his classmates.

He is very proud of his cookies!

Morning everyone.
Denise as to Lynn's question.
YES, YES, YES, I CAN'T WAIT.
I even have a friend to help with driving.
Think it will take about 5-6 days.
Using a U-haul pulling a car trailor.

Hi all! I've been back for a few days (since 3:00 a.m. on 12/13) but it's taken me this long to catch up!!! 184 pages!! We had a great time, although it was quite chilly and rainy most days. We saw Denise and the kids on our first day in the parks. They were on their way to FMT. Rees and Davis were a little unhappy (wanted the monorail), but Brantley-Kate was up for anything. They are all adorable, and were wearing their FMT shirts, as was Denise. John was not wearing a custom T-shirt (not even a t-shirt, it was a sport shirt) but it was lime green like the rest. Very nice family. We ran into them again as we were coming from Fantasyland into Liberty Square. They were at the end of FMT and the kids were much happier. They were walking along with Peter Pan and Wendy and had big grins on their faces!

We had many comments on our shirts - especially the "I don't wanna go home" one with an upset Donald Duck on it that we wore the last day. All of the characters liked our custom autograph books, too. They would point to the pictures of themselves, then at themselves and clap their hands and jump up and down. Very cool. Mary Poppins said we were very "innovative."

Congratulations Amy and Poohangel. Amy, you weren't really fooling any of us. Kate, I'd like to be put on the list for the DC meet in July - sounds great. Denise, I hope everyone's better now. You have had more than your share of illness these past few months. This is NOT the way to keep up your nursing skills!! I have read so much the past few days that my head is swimming. To anyone else with illness - get well soon. Anyone else that should be congratulated - consider yourself congratulated! Anyone leaving soon - have a great trip.

Now I need to go back to my baking. I have made 30 dozen cookies and 12 dozen rum balls so far. I always bring about half of it to my office, so I need to be done to bring them in tomorrow. I'll check back once in awhile through the day, so I'll stay signed in.

School was cancelled today as we had no power. The kids were sobbing because they missed Santa and the Christmas Party (BK is feeling better). So, we went to the mall, saw Santa, got cookies, and rode the carousel. A fun morning! Except now I have a $50 platter of Subway sandwiches sitting in my refrigerator... won't be cooking for a while!

Denise sorry you all have been sick.
Sending :grouphug: & :wizard: .
Can't wait to see you all this Summer.
Those little 1's of yours are to cute.

:rotfl2: Are you sure your head isn't spinning from the rum balls??

Hi June - Welcome back! Glad you had a good trip :goodvibes

Hey guys I just uploaded my official ceremony photos so I could share them on the wedding board - thought you all might like to see them. Here's the link. The photos uploaded in reverse for some reason so you have to start at the end and work backwards... :0)

ETA - there is a problem with the link so I'm trying to find another host for the photos - bear with me...

Hi June - Welcome back! Glad you had a good trip :goodvibes

I haven't even sampled the rum balls yet! I just made them last night, and they have to "ripen" a bit before they're really good.

I tried to go to the site to see your pictures, but after signing up for Yahoo, it said I had followed a bad link. I came back here and clicked on your link again, but it said the same thing. I'll try again later.

Rum balls, huh?

Years ago my Mom made them for a Christmas party her and Dad were throwing. Now, none of us drink, but that was Mom's limit . . . rum balls. Anyway, after the party, she had left a serving plate with extra rum balls out on the table and went to bed. Little did we know that our chihuahua wanted them, so she somehow in the night she knocked the plate off the table and ate everyone of them that was left on the plate. She was snockered! She would wobble around to go potty, but for the most part, our little lush slept the whole day through. :rotfl:
