I've been here, just lurking and trying to catch up. It is snowing so hard here today that they cancelled the afternoon pre-k but not school. They said the roads are too bad right now and maybe they will clear up by the time we go home at 3:30. Snow isn't stopping so I don't see how that will change things. I teach in Grafton and our school is on top of the bluffs overlooking the Illinois River. I either have to go up hills or down them to get home (45 minutes away on a good day). PD please!

Drive safely :grouphug: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Hi all! We got back on Sunday, but things are crazy to catch up. I am being reminded why I choose to work part of my other vacations this year...so much easier to catch up upon return. Seeing as how you all saw fit to post 200 pages since I left - oh wait, I'm sorry, 196 pages - it may take awhile to catch up. So, I'm just going to jump back in where we are.

Terra and I had a GREAT time!! The crowds over Thanksgiving weren't as bad as I was prepared for (either that of TGM was even better than I thought). From Monday on we rarely waited for anything. Terra LOVED the characters. I was plenty camera happy too as we ended up with over 1,100 pictures of our own plus 100+ from Photo Pass. We got to do nearly everything that we wanted to.

There was a partial triplet spotting as I saw 2 of the 3 and Dad at The Living Seas on Friday, but never saw Denise and the 3rd kiddo. The shirts looked great, though, and the kids seemed to be having a great time.

I've got trip reports on their way so I'll let you know when those are up. I'm also working on uploading the pictures, but that may take a little while. Until then, here are our Photo Pass pics: http://disneyphotopass.go.com/DPI/r.d?i=314818325
The older girl in the first half is my baby sister Rachel.

Hope that everyone is doing well and that we didn't miss anything too big. Other than Kate's imaginary pregnancy I guess. :)

Hi! I was sitting outside with Rees as he had a meltdown in Turtle Talk. I would have loved to have seen you. BTW, your picture in your signature is our Sleeping Beauty! Read my trip report or PM me for the story.

Denise - Sending happy thoughts and prayers for Rees.

Tia - Welcome home!

Help!

I am still looking for one last design! I had to change a t-shirt color and the graphic I had just won't work. :(

It's one of my shirts (of course). It will be navy blue. On one side, I had planned on having Sorcerer Mickey (the one with the gold border), but should I put on the other side???

Oh ... we will be in MGM on that day.

Any thoughts???????????????
How about your name?? I am planning on putting our names on the backs of our shirts, in Disney script. That is the ONE thing I can do by myself.

We homeschool partially since our 1 son is having problems learning in Kindergarten. I think we'll be homeschooling all our kids next year due to various factors. If we could afford private, we would probably think about that as an option, but with 4 kids that would be too much. :teeth:
Okay so how old are your kids. What curriculum do you use?

The EASIEST fudge recipe ever:

1 bag semi sweet chocolate morsels (12 oz)
1 bag peanut butter morsels (12 oz though 10 oz will work)
2 tbs butter or margerine
2 cans sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)

You need 2 medium sized glass bowls and a 9 x 9 pan. I usually use glass, but I don't think there is a reason for it.

Completely line your pan with aluminum foil.

Place one bag of morsels in a bowl. Add one can sweetened condensed milk and 1 tbs butter. Place in microwave. You need to melt the chips and all microwaves vary in cooking times. Try 1 1/2 to 2 minutes and stir. Place back in microwave in 30 second intervals removing to stir until mixture is smooth. Pour mixture into pan.

Repeat above step with other bag of morsels. Pour on top of previous layer. Let set up (I usually put in fridge to move things along). Once set up you can remove from pan by pulling up on the aluminum foil. Peel the aluminum foil off and cut into peices.

** I have used many different kinds of chips with various levels of success. 2 layers of chocolate works or 2 layers of peanut butter. I've done a layer of mint, rasberry, cherry, butterscotch. The only one that wasn't good was cinnamon. We get flavored morsels at King Arthur Flour.

Ok all in Oregon we need to get together before I take off.
For some reason DH is being very nice since the dishwasher mishap.
So maybe some weekend.
I have a nice back yard when it's all cleaned up.
What a small world. We should get together sometime, it would be fun. I have a good size house but no yard, it's all cement in back. If you need help packing just holler.

Are you kidding?! I have my designs printed out, and Denise is finishing up 2 for me (Tks, Denise!). Tomorrow I am going to AC Moore to get all my shirts. I will be going on a mad ironing spree this weekend! Plus I still want to tyedye 4 shirts for us. If Kate can be queen of the dda's I want to be queen of procrastination!!

My boys are 7, 5, 4, and 1. We are using Hooked on phonics and math a lot. As far as history and science, etc. I have just been doing stuff based on interest. In our public school here they really just seem to focus on reading and writing in Kindergarten. For next year, we have been researching curriculum but haven't picked it yet since I'll need 3 different age levels. DH and I have attended a homeschooling conference, which had a huge amount of info. for getting started. I know quite a few homeschoolers I've met that use Calvert School (they're a private school in Maryland that also offers their curriculum to homeschoolers)and are quite happy with them. http://www.calvertschool.org/engine/content.do?BT_CODE=CES1512
Homeschooling for Excellence is a good book to read if you're thinking about taking the leap.

Please help......I was surfing through one of these boards and came across a t-shirt design that said "My Mom and Dad Love Me So Much They gave me the world for my birthday", it has several of the characters in front of Cinderella's Castle. Does anyone know where I can find this or something similar so I can make a t-shirt for my daughter's 5th birthday. We will be celebrating it at WDW (Feb. 7)

Tammi,

Don't get mad, but I accidentally deleted all the pictures cleaning out my PM. You can email them to me at triplefigs@bellsouth.net if that's easier. Sorry!

Oh we must have walked right by you then! I wasn't paying much attention because we were hurrying to the Candlelight Processional. I'll have to read your trip reports for sure. I loved that Sleeping Beauty! We saw her 5 times this trip and never saw her again. :( We did have a very sweet one in ToonTown.)

Just looked at your photo pass pics. They are awesome. You little girl is a doll. You could tell she loved the characters.

Thanks! I will have to try that book. Actually I will give it to my mom who doesn't think I should do it. She is afraid she won't be able to go to college. DH is worried abouth teaching her algebra, etc. and the Sciences of phisycial science and chemistry.
The funny thing is I told my mom that the homeschooling curriculums I have seen are similiar to the curriculum iI did at the christian private school I went to. We did PACES each pace had 3 check-ups and then a self test and then the test. We had to get an 80 or better to pass. each grade level had 12 paces. we were in a class room 6th grade thru 12th grade we had desk cubicles. If we need help we jsut put up our flags and the teacher or monitor would come over and help.
