hey - that must have been one heck of a dinner you cooked last night - since you are just now coming back on!!!

And I didn't even cook dinner!! Skunka made a ham last night. I spent most of my day in the basement yesterday getting some Christmas stuff out. That's where our gas line is, right next to the Christmas boxes. It turns out we have a slow leak and I got a MONSTER headache last night, directly after one of my worst bloody noses. So I went to bed with out DISing!! Can you believe it?? I still have the headache today!!

Don't worry...I can't go. The baby's due date is July 14th. :goodvibes

Amy :)

Amy -- We're coming to your house to help out after the DDA meet is over... did someone forget to mention this????

Hey Denise -- I just tried to view your pictures and it is still asking me for a password. I'm using the link on the first page of your trip report. Is that the right link???

Well, I just rolled out over 200 peanut butter balls (chocolate dipping will have to wait until tomorrow) and Kevin put together tree #1 and added lights. We're finally getting our act together around here. Of course, he just went upstairs, and he asked if I was coming up "soon." I told him I had to get caught up! :teeth:

Amy :)

BUCKEYES!!!

Amy -- the difference between your recipe and mine seems to be the addition of the cream cheese. I will have to try this the next time I make them!

Sorry to go Elin and leave you here by yourself.... but I have a very important package that has to get to the post office for a very important person.

Later!

Thanks!!! I am really excited about Legoland - DS is all about building stuff with his blocks!!! :goodvibes My main question about San Diego - what's the difference between the zoo and the animal park? I've read a bunch, but don't have a good picture of what to expect. Also, we are looking at staying in the Mission Bay (???) area - any recommendations of where or where not to stay? DL is all booked, but we still need to figure out the San Diego side of it. Thanks again!!!! :teeth:

I have been to San Diego twice in the past 3 years, and can only tell you that the Zoo is in San Diego and is one of the best in the world. The Animal Park is actually outside of SD (north, I believe) and is more WILD animal oriented. I didn't want to forget to answer this while I am catching up. If someone else gives you a better explanation, take their advice!

OMG - I am here at work today and it is snowing pretty good. Our office is located in a restored Victorian home on the corner with a beautiful wrought iron fence around the yard.

Some drunk/high idiot just plowed through the intersection, across the sidewalk and through our fence into the yard - taking out the Victorian double lamp post. There were absolutely no skid marks. He didn't even try to stop. Couldn't even speak coherently when my boss (the atty.) went outside. Thank God the car stopped. It isn't 10 feet from our building. :earseek: :earseek:

Also as long as I don't get tear gassed like last time I was in DC. :scared:

OK, Brendita -- you CANNOT leave us hanging like that!

Denise,

I still can't get into your pictures. I could before your final upload but ever since it keeps asking for a password, not sure why.

I'm gonna go do some errands before the snow hits and no I am not buying milk, bread, eggs or snow shovels. I am avoiding places that sell those things as much as I can.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Kate- I hope you write these things down! That is so funny!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

When my DS was about 4 we took him to a museum. In the museum there was a part where there was an African village and the women in the village were, of course , dressed as they would be if they were in Africa- just a skirt and no top. My DS looked at those "women" for the longest time then said.... "Man! They have big muscles!" :rotfl:

Too funny! When older DD was a toddler we took her to midnight mass on Christmas Eve. DH held her in his arms when he went up for communion. After he received the "host" DD looked at the priest and said, "HEY! Where's my mint?" Someone in the congregation said "shhhhhhh" and DD looked at me and said "The Little Baby Cheeses said "shut up, kid.' "

Thanks, Marti -- It does look like I am here alone (not completely, I know) because I have this posting frenzy going on again today. It'll probably be like this from now until late December when we get back from our trip, guys.... sorry!

I think I just got the last of the pictures (50 more) uploaded. There are several more in the first few days folders.

I don't call them buckeyes, because all the buckeyes I've eaten seem "dryer" than these peanut butter balls. Plus, when I dip them, I cover the whole thing in chocolate.

Here's my recipe:

1 cup peanut butter
2 sticks butter
3 oz cream cheese
1 lb powdered (confectionery) sugar
chocolate melting disks

Let the butter and cream cheese soften. Then blend the butter, cream cheese, and peanut butter together. Slowly add the powdered sugar.

Refrigerate for a few hours then roll into small balls. I place them on wax paper on a cookie sheet and put them in the freezer.

Microwave your chocolate disks very carefully...only about 20 seconds at a time. Don't overheat the chocolate or it won't set. Keep stirring after the 20 second intervals until the chocolate is melted.

Take 6-8 peanut butter balls out of the freezer at a time...dip them in chocolate using a dipping spoon, so the excess chocolate drips off. Place on wax paper and let set. Sometimes the chocolate cracks, due to the cold/warm combination. I just re dip those, so they're extra-chocolaty!

You might have to reheat your chocolate or melt more disks, if you run low.

The most important thing about this recipe, is these have to stay refrigerated due to the butter and cream cheese. They are delicious cold. When I serve them, I only bring a few out a time and I keep refilling the dish.

For some crazy reason, I made a double recipe yesterday, so I have over 200 of them! My sister and father-in-law will get their own tin, because they love them as much as me. :teeth:

Hope that all made sense!
Amy :)

Thanks for the recipe. I will be making these this Christmas. :)
