Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

I LOVE Everest! I like roller coasters, so it's kinda my thing! I think Cortlyn would be my ride buddy... if she could get over being scared of the dark. :scratching But once she gets over the dark, she'll be a riding queen! LOL Hopefully.... ::yes::

I love the yearly Prayer photo of Hunter. :goodvibes

I'm a funny sort of gal...I am terrified of any kind of roller coaster unless it's at Disney. I guess that I think that Disney coasters aren't going to make me have a heart attack?

Great pictures along the Maharajah Jungle Trek. We've never walked it partly because animals in captivity make me a bit uneasy (although we are staying at AKL next month so I guess you can't really make sense of that! haha) but your pictures have me reconsidering it. Maybe we should just give it a try and forgo the pushing and shoving at the glass that is bound to happen. ;)

I can't believe that the guys tried to bail on you for EE. How sweet that John was a trooper. I agree that the shots Hunter took were great. If only they had been your train.

How is your planning for May going? Will you be writing a PTR?

Yeah, I'm not big on seeing animals in captivity either but Disney does seem to have great enclosures and an awesome staff to watch over the animals.

May planning is going great! Just when I think that I have everything jussssst like I want it, I think about changing something up. Typical me.

Lawson was finally tall enough this past trip to ride EE and he was not a fan.. He clutched me the entire time and said he was never riding again... LOL.. Steve is not a fan of roller coasters and I am hoping one of my kids is... :)

I won't be able to ride next month for obvious reasons :scared1:

Expedition Everest is pretty dang intense so I can see how Lawson would have been scared. Heck, it makes me scared!

Oh yeah, you have a very very good reason to skip EE.

I'm working on my next update to the trip report and it's almost done. In the meantime, check out the article that I wrote on the Magical DIStractions blog. If you have a minute, please comment on the website so that we know that you are reading along. Thanks!

Find a penny, pick it up, all day long you’ll have good luck!

It wasn’t time to use our next Fastpass and, after a cursory look around in the shop at Expedition Everest, there really wasn’t anything left to do in Asia since none of us wanted to get soaked on Kali River Rapids. Instead of just dawdling around, we started walking towards Dinoland. It had been quite some time since we had played any of the games at Chester and Hester’s (or is that what it’s actually called?:confused3) and we weren’t quite sure how we went about getting vouchers or tickets or whatever to play. There was a castmember at the end of one of the games and she was selling these vouchers:

Vouchers in hand, Hunter and John went over to one of the games where you aim the water gun at the target and you “race” other guests to the finish line. They were both beat out by other guests that they were playing against. Not to be outdone, Hunter moved on to another game where you were given a club and you whacked the crap out of a dinosaur that popped up from the holes:Pinkbounc :badpc: :

While I was standing in the shade watching Hunter play, John was standing out in the broad open sun. I swear, I don’t see how he can stand out there like that. :faint: Sweatin’ in the Florida sunshine doesn’t bother him in the least:

Hunter won the game and claimed his prize before moving on to another:

The “another” was another water gun squirting game:

He won again! While he was winning, John and I went to buy some refreshment. It was ding dang bing bang hot out and there really was no shade other than what was underneath the awnings on the games. :sunny: Some sort of slushy drink, a snow cone in a cup and a Sprite purchased, we went back to see that Hunter had been on a winning streak:

It didn’t take long for Hunter to use up the vouchers but it was a fun way to waste some time before we could use our Fastpass. He gathered up his prizes and we stuffed them into my backsack. Gotta love a good stretchy backsack to stuff things in. :thumbsup2Still having time to kill, we wandered over to the nearby shop to have a look around. We weren’t really looking for anything, just killin’ time. I love all of the “junk” that’s hanging all over the place:

Check out the dinosaur made from a gas nozzle:

Dee, I know that you’ll be proud of me for spotting “your” hidden Mickey:

Even after looking around, it still wasn’t time to use our Fastpasses so we made a potty stop where I spotted the hilarious name of the bathroom stall lock company:

The Hiny Hiders locks are also used in some of the bathrooms at Hollywood Studios. I crack up every single time that I see them. :lmao: It doesn’t take much to amuse me does it? As I was coming out of the bathroom, I spotted a penny on the ground. Find a penny, pick it up! All day long, you’ll have good luck!

**Up next: A Mickeystoontown classic Photopass picture! Say cheeeese OR you can roar!

Boy, Hunter sure did clean up at those games. We all love to play the water race game, but I don't usually win. I think Hunter could have traded in those little ones for a larger one, but I'm not sure. Looks like he was quite proud of himself as he should be!!! Glad you guys had fun! :thumbsup2

Hiny Hiders??? There are no words for this!!! LOL!

Hiny Hiders! :rotfl2: :rotfl: I'm going to have to keep an eye out for that next time.

Mom and I played some of those games in October. We just wanted to say we had actually tried some of them. Then we both won these huge turtles and were like, what the heck are we going to do with them the rest of the day? We ended up gifting them to two little girls. That way their parents could figure out what to do with them. :rotfl:

It is so HOT in that Chester play area. UGH!

Hunter should cleaned up on the games though. And did the GF get those when he got home?

I love that gift shop...so much fun stuff in there.

Cool hidden Mickey.

Hiney Holders....:rotfl2:

You got some great detail shots.

And Hunter - darn - he must have won every game he played. Strong work! :thumbsup2

My son has never been much into rides and loves games like that and can win some too. But I would avoid those type of areas like the plague when he was little as that is all he wanted to do and then would cry when I would say no...or even if I let him then cry when I said thats it. :rotfl2:
Let's just say he used to cry about everything.

Hunter did well for himself!!! Good for him!!! Even more? A shinny penny! :woohoo:
I have NEVER noticed the lock names.. that is hysterical!!! :rotfl2:

Hunter was on a roll! And while no classic Disney ride, it looks like the arcade was a fun way to kill time and something that was new and different. Can't complain with that. (Well, except for how hot you must have been waiting for him. The FL heat can be brutal when you're not in the shade or on the beach.)

I've never been in that DinoLand shop before, but it looks really cool. I love the creativeness behind the gas nozzle art. I've gotta check that place out now.

The Hiny Hiders...I thought I was the only one who cracked up at that! :rotfl2:

I was in a Wendy's bathroom here in Philly when I saw the Hiny Hiders lock too!! I absolutely cracked up! What a clever name!

Well we sure could of used Hunter the day we played those games :rotfl: My granddaughter and myself tried and tried to win a toy for her, but did not get a one :confused3

Hiney Hiders!:lmao: I'm totally going to start looking for those in public bathrooms now!

Whoa, WTG Hunter! Jason won the whack-a-dinosaur game when we were there, but that was it. Did his girlfriend get all those prizes?

I am glad that he DIDN"T trade for a bigger one. I wouldn't want to carry a big one around. And, we needed at least three for my upcoming update.

Hiny Hiders is hilarious!

Hiny Hiders! :rotfl2: :rotfl: I'm going to have to keep an eye out for that next time.

I know that there were Hiny Hider locks in the bathrooms near the Jedi Training Academy check-in at Hollywood Studios. And, they are in some other locations too.

It is so HOT in that Chester play area. UGH!

Hunter should cleaned up on the games though. And did the GF get those when he got home?

It is hot in that area! So much concrete. Hunter's girlfriend ended up with a couple of them.

Wasn't that a neat Hidden Mickey! Oh and the hiney hiders crack me up every single time.

Jen, you are such a bad mother! No, seriously, I totally get it. If it were up to Hunter, he'd spend hours playing games like that.

Hunter did well for himself!!! Good for him!!! Even more? A shinny penny! :woohoo:
I have NEVER noticed the lock names.. that is hysterical!!! :rotfl2:

Hunter did really well. It's quite obvious that he doesn't take after his mother who has no skills at all.

Hunter was on a roll! And while no classic Disney ride, it looks like the arcade was a fun way to kill time and something that was new and different. Can't complain with that. Definitely check out the shop. There's all sorts of weird/odd things hanging around in there.

They are in Wendy's too! I'll have to look for them in our local Wendy's.

Well we sure could of used Hunter the day we played those games :rotfl: My granddaughter and myself tried and tried to win a toy for her, but did not get a one :confused3

Awwww, poor thing. She must have been competing against some older kids.

Hiney Hiders!:lmao: I'm totally going to start looking for those in public bathrooms now!

Whoa, WTG Hunter! Jason won the whack-a-dinosaur game when we were there, but that was it. Did his girlfriend get all those prizes?

Hunter was on a winning streak for sure! His girlfriend got a couple of the stuffed animals.

A Mickeystoontown classic Photopass picture! You can say cheeeese OR you can roar!

Finally, it was time to use our Fastpass for Dinosaur! I made this our last Fastpass choice for the day so that we would be semi-close to the front of the park when we were ready to leave. Actually, no it wasn’t. I’ve forgotten something. :sad2:

We went into the dump shop at the end of the Dinosaur ride first. In the past, we’ve done silly ride photos and we were looking for something to add a little umph to the picture. What that umph was, we didn’t know. There were several things that we thought about buying like a pair of binoculars or a safari guide hat but they were a bit on the expensive side considering we would only be using them as props and then we’d be done with them. Suddenly, it dawned on us that there was no need for us to buy anything.

Annnnnnnd, then, it was time to use our Fastpasses!

The Fastpass line was short so we moved along very quickly to the turnstile thingies. I had only enough time to take this one picture:

In the pre-show room, we watched the short film and were “in” on the plot to trap the dinosaur and bring it back with us. In the meantime, we were “in” on a little plot of our on. Wanna see what that plot was? Creating a Mickeystoontown Classic Photopass Ride picture:

I tried and tried to crop the pictures and zoom in on the Photobucket site but it’s not letting me. (I believe you can click on the picture and zoom in yourself though.) That’s us in the back row putting the stuffed bat, dinosaur, dragon and lizard that Hunter won to good use. We were trying to scare the dinosaurs! When we were looking at the picture in the dump shop, people were laughing and commenting on the picture. Some folks even came over to us and said “Classic picture.” “You guys are so funny.” “Wish that I had thought of doing something like that.”

We exited the shop after having the picture put on our Photopass card (I believe that’s something that’s automatically added now.) and started for the front of the park.

We had seen and done everything that we wanted. The only thing that we were still searching for was a hat for John. He had a Kilimanjaro Safari and needed a new one because his was looking a bit raggedy. I took a few pictures as we were going in and out of the various stores.

John found the hat that he was looking for, paid and we made our way through The Oasis.

Where I took one, just one, picture:

As I do almost every time before I leave a park to get on a bus, I made a pit stop before leaving. I learned my lesson years ago that the buses can sometimes be very very cold and having to tinkle and being freezing cold do not go well together. Pit stop made, we left the park and walked to the bus stop. Goodbye Animal Kingdom!

**Up next: Hunter gets Fliked on at Planet Hollywood!

I JUST LOVE your ride picture!!!! PROPS!!! What a fantastic idea!!!! your all so FUN!!!

i cannot wait to read about being flicked!

Well, there....I now know why it was a good idea to keep all the littles!! That picture is so adorable! We are never that creative! It sounds as though your AK day was wonderful! Yay!!:cool1:

What a brilliant idea to use all of Hunter's winnings on your trip to bring a Dinosaur home. I LOVE it! :thumbsup2

But no picture of John's new hat?

And I'm with you...always a bio-break before getting on a cold bus.
