Disney Custom Wedding Minimum Increase?!?!

Did anyone else get this email??


Price Increase
Custom minimum for events held on Monday through Thursday is now $10,000.

Custom minimum for events held on Friday and Sunday is now $15,000.

Custom minimum for events held on Saturday is now $20,000.

Will This Price Increase Affect Your Wedding?
If you are currently working with a sales manager and your event is BEFORE April 1, 2006 then you will work under the old pricing.

If you are currently working with a sales manager and your event is AFTER April 1, 2006 you will receive the new pricing structure (unless you move up your wedding date).

If you do not yet have a sales manager and you contact DFTW today you will receive the new pricing regardless of your event date.

I have not yet booked but have gotten pricing. I am going to have to call them back.

On Monday they quoted me the old price....very interesting.

I callled yesterday and was told if I moved my date from 4/22/06 to anytime before 4/1/06, that I could be grandfathered into the old prices... so it looks like we're changing our date. The increase (double what we were expecting) was just too much for us right now...

I called this morning. She was going to get in touch with someone to see if I could still get the lower price since she saw a record that I spoke with someone on Friday right before they raised the price. Someone is suppose to call me on Monday or Tuesday.

Good Luck with the call on Monday Laura... when are you planning on having your wedding? Would you have to move it up, or is it planned before 4/1/06?

Actually my original wedding was scheduled for 10/29/05 this year; however my mother was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer (she's a non-smoker). So my fiance and I decided to move up our date and have a small wedding down in Disney where we were going on our honeymoon. The wedding if I get the "old" prices will be in either the first two weeks of July now. Hopefully because it will only be a few months away they will honor the pricing they gave me.
