Disney Cruise Discount on Fantasy for DVC members

In fact you are not a member so
Be careful of this sanerio..Just because you have a card in hand does not mean you are a member, this would be cheating the system.
For this kind of discount Im sure you have to be a contract member or co member on that contract.
Im surprised member services even talks to you on the phone following the vigorous identification
process they take with us even if we give the our card #.

I have a member card but not in my own name. My sister gave me one of the two cards she was given. Seems that from my internet searches, some people that are associate members have cards in their own names but others have not been able to get one. Guess I should just contact member services and find out.

I wrote a response earlier and it just disappeared--probably didn't hit submit and it didn't go anywhere.

Anyway, I jumped on this. :hyper: Called this morning and booked the June 30 Eastern sailing and was able to get a cat 4c with the special pricing. I am so tickled. DH is out of town teaching and won't be home until tonight, so he doesn't know that I have booked it yet. :faint: Hope he doesn't have any scheduling conflicts.

Have never done anything like this so spur of the moment, so this is really going to be an adventure. Now I need to start checking out flights and where we want to stay the night before and transportation in Orlando, etc.

Maybe this is just the start of some great discounts coming down the road. Wouldn't that be great?

So, this is the thread I wrote about two hours ago, wonder where it has been all this time?

I booked this morning and I just cannot believe the deal. At least it seems a deal compared to current asking rates, and I am wondering if maybe this might be less than what they were asking the first week that ressies were available. Total for two adults is $2,335.44, and I got a 4C, just a few doors down from the 5C that we had booked on the Dream, so I am familiar with the surroundings.

I am authorized to talk on the phone with member services. I am named on the account as an associate member and they have all my info (name, address, phone, email address). I must identify who I am and pass the checks before they will talk to me. I got a card in the mail to set up my own account (with access to my sister's account) but never activated it so just use her account info (login/password) to have access to the account. I just wondered if associate members were granted the cruise discount since I was sent the email directly but maybe they didn't differentiate between associate members and purchasers. Or maybe they are just trying to entice me to purchase!

You are going to get a lot of different answers and opinions here. The only people who can answer this for you would be DVC so you should call them as soon as possible since these discounts are selling out quickly. :)

Just got off. I have Gty 4B with possible bump up to a 4A for 2 adults/2 kids for $4,500.

Take advantage if you are DVC!!

Are you serious? They are booking GTY for this deal? Oh no, these June cruises are going to be so full now. Oh well. I still saved a ton and at least now I have a balcony to get away from everyone else!!!!!!!!

Is this a flat rate per person deal?

I got the email :wizard:

For example:
If we get 2 connecting rooms and put 2 people in each room is it the same price as if we put all 4 in one room?

This is cheaper than our VGT in July (B2B). But I can always be arm twisted into another cruise!

Yes it is. I was able to book 2 connecting rooms for two adults and two kids (4&8) in a 4A on Deck 9 on the June 30th cruise for less than $4600. They quoted me the same price if all of us was in one room. So I took the extra room. Now I get double the DVC and Castaway on board gifties. It would have cost me over $13K without the discount.

I SO want to book! We are scheduled to go to WDW from June 2-10 so we could still use the airfare we have to go on the June 2 cruise. I called and the price for 3 of us, 2 adults and 1 child, was about $3400 in a Cat 5A room. I actually had a reservation for an inside room for this very cruise for around $2800 awhile back and canceled it then I saw the 2013 prices and was mad at myself for doing so! We are stuck with a ton of DVC points we would have to use if we swapped out the trip for the cruise and would have to come up with a boatload of cash quickly so I doubt we'll do it. Still might try to talk the DW into it, though... :rolleyes1

Well, they say that the layout is almost the same as the Dream, and if so, we are only a few doors down from the cabin we had on the Dream in September, which we loved the location. Our cabin on the Dream was the last cat 5c before you got to the cat 4s on the starboard side near the mid-ship elevators. It made it easy to find because the width of the hallway adjusted right where our cabin was.

We liked that deck because there were cabins above us and cabins below us and no noise from shows or lounges or anything like that. We liked our location because we were close enough to the mid-ship elevators, but not too close to hear any noise from people gathering while waiting for the elevators, etc.

I am so excited, and it is fun to have others to share the excitement with. :woohoo:

We are in cabin 7594, and it will be just DH and myself, so we will have plenty of room.

It looks like a good spot. We are just down from you but we are on the Port side unfortunately. You got the best view of Castaway Cay!

So excited but now I have to go fax my DVC card over!

I completely misunderstood the DVC email I got last. I assumed it was for new bookings only and deleted it. Thank you to Disboards for correcting my stupidity.

TA was able to switch our room up to 4C from 8-something for 1300 less. I'm gobsmacked. I was already happy with my DVC purchase, but now I'm super happy. Better room for less money. I can't believe it.

It seems that the process is smoother now than it was yesterday night or this morning. I barely had to talk to my TA at all. I told them to do it and they called me back 45 minutes later with the details.

Does anyone know how full the ship is? Its got to be pretty empty right now to be offering these discounts right? Though I don't see how offering the discount to people already on the ship will help with selling more rooms. Not that I'm complaining.

If you book through Dreams Unlimited do you still get the $200 OBC?:)

Also, I assume this is for only a certain number of rooms per cat., right? Just because it shows a room's availability does not mean it is eligible for this promo?

I don't think that is right. Earlier today I booked a 4C for June 30, and I just went and looked at the DCL site and there are no verandah categories left at all except the VGT cabins. Last night and this morning there were about 8 different categories available for that sailing, and right now the website shows nothing. That makes me think they have sold them all for this sailing except the VGT fares.

Wow, gone in less than 24 hours.

I am wondering about this too.. how is this offer going to help DCL to sell more rooms ?
I am happy for those that can switch their bookings without penalty and I would have done the same if I had a booking on this cruise. Not complaining about that but it just doesn't make any sense from the business point of view.

How can they sell the VGT category if there are no other rooms available? Do they hold back rooms for this, or are they selling the category knowing that some people will cancel?
