Disney Cruise Discount on Fantasy for DVC members

Hope they offer this on the July or August sailings. It seems that they have difficulty selling the verandah staterooms on the new ships.

Really what cruise lines could you get 2- 7 nights to the Caribbean in June for less than $4600 for a family of 4 (two teens) in a verandah?

We are booked on Carnival in a balcony for 4. $2.069.88 for all of us. We are all adults, too .......66,55,22,20 years old. Ports are Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, Grand Turk and San Juan. So yes, it can be done.

Is there anyone who could pm me a copy of the exact email to pass along to my travel agent. I am DVC member but did not receive the email, but want my TA to check our booking for us - she wants a copy of the email. Thanks for your help.

I sure wish I could change our 5 night August cruise for this deal!

Has anyone tried to use this for a family of 5?

I didn't receive the email. But it sounds like a great deal.

I hope they offer it again for the August sailings. I didn't receive a discount on our cruise, so I'm hoping they would be able to a discount. This would be great towards a deposit for another cruise. ::yes::

We didn't get this email but I am itching for a vacation in June. I think I will call DCL and see what we can do.

This seems like an awesome deal!

Just sent you 2 messages that contain the body of the email I got from DVC

We are a family of 5 and while I did not call, I did go on-line and use the June sailing dates and for the Verandah cabins, on-line the cabin price for our family of 5 (kids 13, 10 and 5) was between $12-$13K. If you go by the $1099 price stated in the email, the price would go down ot $5 to 6K so more than 50% off.

Has anyone tried to use this for a family of 5?

I get the feeling they are really moving the needle with this offer. I've been monitoring the rooms available for my upcoming jun 23 western (curiosity because I booked vgt and wondering what's still available) and this morning there are several categories of verandah rooms that seem to be no longer available.

We're on the June 16th sailing and our travel agent (after speaking to 2 supervisors) was finally able to get us the deal. We originally booked this cruise while on the Dream...for over $4000!!! We saved $1884 with this deal!! :cool1:

So glad your travel agent kept with it!

While it's tempting, we'll probably pass. We made our reservations in Oct 2010 and we could upgrade our family oceanview 8C and inside 11A to two veranda rooms and basically break even. Our 8C price was $1,232 pp and our 11A was $1,022 pp.

But with 31 days until we sail, this sounds like too much stress to worry about changing rooms now. Not to mention I don't relish being on hold for 45 minutes or more and then potentially having to argue with the DCL agent over whether we'd have to cancel and re-book or not.

We got 2 cabins very near each other in a section of the ship we wanted. Plus the kids are excited to see the virtual porthole.

So, unless DCL upgrades us for free, we'll stick with what we have...we were thrilled with it before, so we're still thrilled with it and we're going to have a great time.

I'm hoping this means that the June 9th cruise will be at less than full capacity, so maybe it won't be so crazy.

How big is your party size? How small are the kids? If you are worried about a Verandah I can understand, But I think you will probably save some money and get an upgrade. By now the agents have gotten the news that this can be applied. I also booked in Oct 2010 and saved a significant amount on our June 23 sailing. Wouldn't it be nice to have connecting rooms with the kids? I wouldn't worry about having to argue. Those of us who have already done the arguing have cleared a path. By the way the kids were 1049 vs the 1099 for adult. Again, not sure of your party size though and how you have your rooms booked.

Might be worth the phone call! One agent told us that the discount would just be applied to our existing reservation and that we didn't have to upgrade our rooms. But we had GTY so we were taking a gamble anyways. At the very least is a $266 savings for you since you paid 1232.00 pp. (oh then again you will lose the OBC of $200) They are simply REPLACING the Onboard discount with the DVC CASH one. I was expecting a smaller refund, but when it was all done it was bigger than I thought. When I first got the agent that helped us she said "see you can't apply the DVC discount because you would then be double dipping". I said I know I want to replace the discount. She put me on hold and came back on and said "get your TA on the line". This was at 10:30 Pm last night and she said she had talked to a ton of DVC members that night. Up to that point she wasn't making the change. She obviously talked to another agent or supervisor and found out how to do it. She fixed my Dsis Reservation quickly and put us in connecting rooms. Once I got her and the TA on the line it was like 10 minutes top to have all this done!

Just my opinion but we stayed in the virtual porthole room and it was not that impressive even for the kids. Good luck with what you decide and enjoy your cruise! One thing I am thrilled about is that now that we have connecting rooms we will be able to open up the deck to the other room. I hope it feels roomier out on the verandah!

We also took advantage of this deal! We called last night and after 50 minutes on hold were told that we needed to have our TA call. So i put an email out to her. We booked our 11C room on day one and paid $1025 pp (averaging the 2 adults and 2 children together). We also had a $100 dollar room credit with our TA.
We upgraded our 11 C room to a 4A Deluxe Family stateroom for an additional $400. Yes, i actually paid the extra money to upgrade. :lmao:Same ressie number, all existing dining, excursion and BBB ressies are intact. Plus because i now booked a verandah room... I now have $200 in onboard credit from my TA!
Essentially for $300... I upgraded to a much larger room with a verandah!:goodvibes

It is worth a try....

Does anyone know if I can qualify for this deal as an "associate member" on a DVC contract. I got the email because I am named as an associate member on my sister's DVC account. But my sister, the actual purchaser of DVC will not be able to be on the cruise w/ us.

Do you have a DVC member card? If you do, sure, give them a call. They require that you send them in a copy of your DVC member card. It is definitely worth a call.

I have a member card but not in my own name. My sister gave me one of the two cards she was given. Seems that from my internet searches, some people that are associate members have cards in their own names but others have not been able to get one. Guess I should just contact member services and find out.

Or ask your sister to contact her guide about it as well. I hope it works out for you. It is worth asking a few questions for sure.
