Awww.....thanks!!! I will, Promise!!;) We leave next Wednesday for a Pre WDW stay. I'm anxious to know who my coordinator on the ship is!! Things have been a little better since Kathy is gone, not much though. I know things will be great once I get on the ship though!!:thumbsup2

Cheryl- I hope I get Florencia. I will let you know. I was hoping I knew before hand, but oh well!! I like surprises!! Good ones anyway:goodvibes

Gosh, I hadn't thought about DD not being able to go to the salon! Grrr. I'll try with concierge, and if not, I'll just make the best of it. DD will be 12 almost 13 then!

I'm starting to really think about this VR... been shopping online for dresses... I want a white hawaiian print dress and DH to have a matching aloha shirt. He already has his linen pants. DD and DS, I was going to have also in white in the same print... but now I'm thinking of giving them a colored print instead. What do you think? DS will be 9, he wants a hawaiian shirt like Dad, and DD a hawaiian dress.

I need to contact Shirley about additional floral... I'd like a small bouquet for DD and a little boutinerre for DS, and maybe a corsage for each of our moms.

And music at CC... Lisa, was there any kind of music for your ceremony? I know the packet says a "musician" but I am unclear if that is only onboard, or at the cake cutting ceremony, as opposed to Castaway Cay.

While I'm on the subject of questions... how soon did y'all send out invitations? Obviously everyone who is coming has already booked. But I bought these lovely DCL notecards while onboard last year. I took a photo from the beach ceremony spot, and plan to glue that down inside the card, with a vellum printed invite on the top of it. :thumbsup2 Should I send them before the cruise, say a month ahead, or deliver onboard?

Christine, ready to start planning now that it is almost 6 months away!!!

We had a pianist for a musician. I think that is who everyone has on the cruise.

We didn't send invites out, but DCL did put an invitation in everyone's fish the night before...It was very nice and someone saved it for me and put it in a shadow box with my program.

There was music....There was a piano player and I picked the songs for the bridal party, for me to enter to and then for us to exit to. Also he played while the guests waited for me....then he went to Palo and played too. He also played the CD I made for in Palo. It was great!

I hope and pray you guys do not get Lars...he was AWEFUL. He obviously had other things on his mind since his fiancee was on the ship visiting him during my sailing!

Adam was our musician and his girlfriend was on the ship too! He had to escort her off and back on when we did the Back 2 Back..I guess she had to get off the ship and re board the same as we did.

Hi

I just though I would drop in and say hello :wave2:

We are getting married onboard the Magic (actually we are getting married at home just before we fly to the US, it's just easier that way, but for us we are getting married on the DCL) on the 3rd of Dec this year :cool1:

You are all so organised and I have a million questions, I hope you don't mind but I though I would start with the big one that I am actually pretty nervous about. This might seem really strange…..

What happens at the ceremony? I don’t really know how else to explain it other than to say, how do marriage ceremonies run in the US? I am suddenly really nervous that we might not know what to say or do, when we are surposed to say or do something :scared1:

Here unless the ceremony is religious you make it up with the celebrant before your ceremony and therefore know what to say when and what is going to be said etc…

How cute!!! We only did the vow renewal, however, we could have written our own vows, just as you can if you are gretting married for the first time. If you are going to go with the standard thing...I Cheryl take you David to be my lawful wedded husband....that is fine too. You do meet with the coordinator the 1st or 2nd night on the ship to go over all of that, however, if you have it in you head what you want, write it down and bring it all with you. They were very flexible.

He began everything with a short prayer, thanking everyone for coming, spoke very briefly on marriage and then went right into the ceremony itself.

I am certain you will have a fabulous time!!

Cheryl

I will say that I really liked our coordinator on the Wonder Rodrigo. He told us he'd done quite a few weddings onboard and was very straight forward with everything that was gonna happen. He gave us as much attention as we required. And trust me he was one busy boy, there were 2 weddings within an hour of each other. Both April 27/09 weddings were on Deck 7 Aft and apparently my DH said they were just finishing when him and our other guests met outside Deck 7.

For the first part of the day I kept missing the other bride. The hairdressers commented on how she just left.

We met the other bride and groom at our Palo dinners that night. We both had around 8 pm reservations. They were a very nice couple from Louisiana. She told me that people around the ship were so confused; saying things like "another bride and groom", "didn't we just see them on another deck". We did look kinda similar so I can see where the mistake could come in. :)

Here's a comment I know all you disbrides will appreciate.

So I had to use the bathroom before we met with some characters and had dinner, a lady and her younger daughter say that I look very pretty. On the way out she says " Just so you know my daughter asked 'which princess you are?'" :cutie:

Just kinda makes your day! :cloud9:

Well I will cross my fingers for no Lars then! Is there a piano by the beach? Or a keyboard?

When and how did you give the list for your songs? What did you choose, if you don't mind my asking? (And that goes for all the brides!) DH and I are having a hard time choosing.

Our daughter is getting Married on the Wonder November 9, 2009. She told me that she has to fill out paperwork and on that is a list of the songs they want to use for the Wedding. I know they plan on making a CD to use for their First Dance, the Father Daughter dance and so on. But I was pretty sure she said all of that stuff had to be listed on paperwork and sent back to them at a certain time.

I am sure that others that have allready had their Weddings can tell you for sure, but I am allmost positive this is what she told me awhile ago.....Have fun planning!

I *JUST* found this board. We leave in 8 days for 4 days at AKV before we board the Magic. Our VR is on Thursday.

We've been married almost 17 years. We have two daughters. One 16 the other is 7. We plan to have the ceremony on the boat. We had Cathy but now we have Bree as our coordinator.

I'm going to scour this thread for more information!

Welcome! How exciting that you are so close to your VR!

This time last year, I was having my first fittings I think...ahh..loved every minute of it..Let us know if we can help.

It was a Keyboard. But it didn't sound techno 80's at all!

The Prelude (before it all started was a mix of Disney Love Songs.

My Bridesmaids walked into When you Wish Upon a Star

I walked into Here comes the bride (hey DIsney or not it's a classic)

I left to There goes the bride (again needed some stuff classic)

Then we made a CD for the reception. Our first Dance was Making Memories of Us by Keith Urban and my Father Daughter dance was to I loved her first for cutting the cake we used Sugar Sugar by the Archies (all of these on a CD labled). We also had him play random Disney songs at the cake cutting. The piano player workes the CD. The reception had no real order and I had to move it all along. It was still wonderful!

Thank you! I've been spending lots of my day reviewing all of the posts! Lots of terrific info. I wish I would have found it sooner! But I still have 8 days before I leave!

Okay. I've been reading this occasionally and posting once in awhile and now I'm getting really nervous thinking I'm forgetting something. We leave on Tuesday the 19th for 2 days at WDW then board the Wonder on the 21st. We're getting married in the Cadillac Lounge on the 22nd. Brie has been terrific but now I'm wondering what I'm forgetting. I went for my final bridal gown fitting tonight and it needs a very minor alteration. I have no idea how to wear my hair and never thought about wearing a veil until now. My DD says I should wear the veil with the ears but I think for the ceremony, it should be more serious and as soon as Captain John says we're married, then I might put on the bride ears with the veil. I filled out the papers etc but never thought about a song for cutting the cake. They told me it's over $500 if I want a character for 30 minutes during the reception. I think it's alot of money but we are having 30 people (minus my future mother in law who passed away last week) and I think how can I get married on a Disney Cruise and not have Mickey there. Did anyone have any characters? If so, was it worth it? If not, do you regret it? Forgot to mention that this is a second marriage for both of us and I'm 55 years young. I'm just having my DD as my maid of honor and my son will walk me down the aisle. Fiancee has his best man. We have a ring bearer and flower girl. I'm wearing a white bridal gown and he's wearing a tux. Any suggestions what I'm forgetting or should be doing? How do I stay calm? I'm so excited yet nervous at the same time.

Thanks,
Bev:bride:

Aw bev! Congratulations! 55 yrs young, you are so cute!

I would love to have Mickey at our reception, but i don't think it's in the budget....atleast not yet....he may be a very late addition! :thumbsup2

Well.....we had to switch from CC to Deck 7. The economy sucks and I'm positive i won't be able to afford the CC ceremony in the next 3 months. By switching down to Cat 12 and the onboard ceremony....it's much more affordable. Even if we can't save much more....i can atleast afford this one. It's not my perfect dream....but you watch...it's gonna POUR DOWN RAIN on our CC day. :rotfl2:

Anyway....so now i'm wondering how this is going to work! The ceremony is around 5pm, right? is that BEFORE or AFTER we sail from Nassau? Since we will have the kids there....we'll just keep teh cake ceremony there on the deck. I just hope it's not too windy and loud to enjoy the music. Will we do the dance and stuff up there too? I think we will still try and get everyone into Palo for dinner that night anyway.

Now Joe is looking forward to a snorkeling excursion on CC! ;)

Aww! I'm so sorry you had to cancel CC... But I'm sure deck 7 will be lovely too. And you'll feel so much better knowing the cost isn't stressing you out. You don't want to head into the day with how much everything is looming over your head. I know we can only afford CC because we have a cat 10 SPH room, and our 10% onboard rebooking discount!

Betsy's pictures were so lovely at that time of day- I know you'll love the setting! Plus having CC day all to yourself to relax. That's the biggest drawback for me having a CC ceremony! Not only do WE miss the island in the morning, so do all our guests- all first time DCL cruisers too.
