I am a Travel Agent, I called and checked availablity for my wedding and it wasn't a year yet, so I booked my cruise, then I called back and begged and pleaded and they scheduled the wedding even though I was at like 13 months! I would start with a call to DFW first!

Bump for the newer girls!

--------------------------------------------------------

I'm so bummed right now! Betsy just pointed out that they don't allow children in the spa, which I knew, but i didn't realize they consider the hair salon the spa. That just blows!!! 1st, there's no way i'm going to be able to give Jackie a princess updo like BBB!! 2ndly, that's just going to totally screw up my timing! How am i supposed to get my hair done, then turn around and run back to the cabin and to her hair, and get us both dressed?!?!?! UGH!

I'm really suprised this issue hasn't come up before! I'm so shocked that they don't allow little girls in to get their hair done all pretty for the princesses on Formal nights!

Wow, I'm really shocked they won't let her in and make an exception. It's not like you're not a) paying for the VR and b) paying for her hair!

I didn't realize this either! Luckily, after a lot of pageants in my lifetime and my DD's, I can manage hair pretty well. I'm not great - definitely not profession, but I can make it look pretty good.

For my DD's hair, I am going to pull it up in a bun - like at the BBB. Her hair is curly, so it it a little harder to do, but with a lot of gel, they pull it up in a ponytail, and then partially pull the last of it through the loop, so it makes a loop of hair on top of their head. Then they put the glitter on it, and put the little tiara in front. It's really simple.

I did this yesterday for our dinner at Cindy's castle. I'll have to post a pic.

French twists are really simple to do as well, and they look great.

Maybe you can assign one of your family members to be in charge of your DD's hair, so you don't worry about it.

This is probably different than what you had in mind for dd's hair--but would you consider getting her hair braided? I bet you could get that done in Nassau. I've seen little girls with just a couple -- like one on each side and then the back is down. Looks cute. Figured I'd just throw it out there as a thought.:goodvibes

That would be cute! You could also take a curling iron and make some ringlets in the back where it is hanging down.

They won't make the exception..Disney doesn't own the Salon..Someone else owns it (the girls aren't considered Cast members my pedicure girl told me) My friend was in the Walt and just wanted to have a mother /daughter hair updo for formal night and they apologized profusely, but were not allowed.

I also didn't think about DD's hair until I was about to put on my makeup and had a mini meltdown..look at my face..see the stress??

I bet if you did it an hour or so before you got dressed, she would be so happy with her princess hair, she would be sure to not mess it up.

but an hour or so before I get dress I should be up getting my hair done!

Jen - my bridesmaid posted on the cruise forum...they DID make an exception for her DD so cross your fingers!

Now Jen....don't be going all bridezilla on us!!! ;)

I had my hair done about 2 hours before the service, and then went down to our room. The girls had their hair already braided by one of the braiding people on deck a day or 2 before, so really, all we had to do is put in their wreaths.

So from what i got on the DCL board....concierge services MAY be able to sneak Jackie in to the Salon....assuming no one else wants her spot. But come on....8am on Castaway Cay day? Who else is going to want to get their hair done. :thumbsup2 So i'm just going to go on the assumption that it's OK and I'll just worry about it at a later date! :rotfl:

We did finally find some pants for DH at Macy's (Yeah, i shoulda looked there first! :cool2: ) Now i am once again stuck on Joey...he's the last one not dressed! (well except that MIL has yet to start on Jackie's dress, but we atleast know what she is supposed to wear) I just can not find a child shirt to match the TB shirt Joe has. I'm this close to putting him in some colored shirt and be done with it! I wonder if I could just buy the white one and wash it in my Hard iron filled water! :rotfl: Maybe that will give it a more yellowed/ivory look!

you could stain it with tea

Don't laugh at me..I did that once to make muslin look aged..worked great!

Ummm...isn't tea brown???

Maybe we should change the name of the thread now to make it more inviting to all the new DCL brides we have! There's lots now! :thumbsup2

It turned out to look ivory..if you make the tea weak, it will be light..buy some material and try it..I soaked the cloth in tea and washed it.

and I said don't laugh at me!

I never even thought about my DD's hair the day of our ceremony...just something else to fret over...I'll have to make note of how they do her hair at the BBB while we're in Disney...

Does anyone know who the current wedding coordinator is on the Disney Magic?:wizard:

We leave next week, I got my planning kit from DCL and Fairytale weddings today with the luggage tags and all, and the name of the group contact sales person in case we need anything. But no name for the wedding coordinator? I dont' think its the same person is it?

Yeah for you!!!! We had Florencia...who was fantastic BTW...however, we didn't know who it would be until we got to our room. When we went in, there was a note from her on our bed, giving us the time to meet with her. I do hope you have her!!
