DISNEY COLLEGE PROGRAM - A Spring 2013 Adventure! *COMPLETE* 11/20

Just finished catching up on your posts. I really enjoyed the whole thing. I hope you feel better and continue keeping us posted. I believe you are from the same area where I grew up. Can I ask which High School did you attend? You made a comment about going to a Catholic HS so I'm curious (I did too).

Get Better and Keep writing

April 24th, 2013 - Earl of Sandwich and Hollywood Studios

Today I got up around 10 am and left the apartments around 11-11:30 am with Surge. We both had the day off today so we figured we should do something... but neither of us really knew where we wanted to go. We knew we wanted lunch so that was a start.

After debating for quite a while, Sergio finally picked going to Earl of Sandwich. Great choice!

On our way over we saw that the pin wall was open! I was the last person who could sneak in line and I traded for two pins!

We were also looking around the store and I found a HILTON HEAD PIN! I wanted one so bad when I went there last August, but there weren't any to be found! Now they finally had one for sale! I was so happy. Plus Shadow (the dog) was on the pin!!!

img0353kx.jpg

Once I bought my new pin, we went to Earl of Sandwich. The line was long but it went by really fast.

dsc0658t.jpg

I finally got my holiday sandwich which was AMAZING. It's literally thanksgiving on a sandwich. There was turkey, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry relish. NOMS! I was afraid this sandwich was going to be super heavy but I actually was able to finish the whole thing! I loved every bite.

dsc0660wg.jpg

Surge had the meatball sandwich for his lunch. We headed out of Downtown Disney after that. I realized how much I love Downtown Disney during the day while we were walking around. It's just so bright and cheery plus it's way less crowded!

We got in the car and headed over to Hollywood Studios! The first thing we did was go on Tower of Terror because that was our main goal for the day. There was NO line whatsoever. This entire week is unusually not crowded. I love it.

I was already getting super overheated at this point in the day so we stopped and got frozen lemonades in Anaheim produce. They really hit the spot! They seemed carbonated to me which was a little odd but they tasted really good!

dsc0661hu.jpg

We went to Writer's Stop and I got a carrot cake cookie! It was PERFECT. The frosting is really what makes it for me. It's so cool and refreshing.

dsc0662n.jpg

After that we went over to the animation drawing class!

img0355jo.jpg

I'm loving all of the new Monsters University signs!

img0358cq.jpg

We drew Buzz Lightyear which is a completely new character for me! Our instructor was really good. I loved him!

dsc0663nd.jpg

We went on Toy Story Mania right after and I did pretty well!

img0359km.jpg

img0362hn.jpg

img0363ex.jpg

I also decided that row 5 is my favorite on the left side. I always do well there. :lmao:

dsc0664ca.jpg

Then we went to the Tower of Terror gift shop and I got a Haunted Mansion blanket! My friend Steph posted a picture of hers on Instagram so I got it too and I was very excited. (:

img0367q.jpg

The last thing we did in Hollywood was go on Star Tours! It was such a fun ride!! We went underwater and through all of these cool places that I don't know the names of. I enjoyed myself very much!

After that we headed out of the park. I was super exhausted and overheated so we went home. I had a yogurt and some cheddar cheese crackers, I called my mom, and then I took a hardcore nap. I slept for about 2 1/2 hours and woke up around 7 something with a bad headache. I think I was dehydrated today or something.

I dragged myself out of bed and went over to Mark's apartment. The guys wanted to go to Chickfila/Wendy's for dinner so that's what we did! We brought the food back and had a little family dinner in their apartment.

img0360t.jpg

Then I went back to my apartment and decided to clean my room. At 1 in the morning. I don't understand my thought process.

I couldn't fall asleep until 3 am because my body just didn't want to sleep. That nap messed up my sleep schedule but it was worth it.

I'm glad to see you had the holiday sandwich. I'm going to try that when we go in November. I hope I find it delicious!

And I still dream about that Carrot Cake cookie. The icing was so good.

April 25th, 2013 (Part 1) - Celebrating Mark's Birthday at the Tusker House!

I woke up at 7:45 am this morning. Mark and I went over to DAK for open! Marks Dad texted him telling him it was the feast of Saint Mark and in Poland (since they're Polish) when it's your saint's name day, you should be treated like its your birthday.

Since Mark's birthday is in July and he's leaving on May 24th, we decided that today was going to be Mark's Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARK! We got him a button.

dsc0665np.jpg

The first thing we did was go on Kilimanjaro Safaris! Our guide was SO funny. She was a younger girl and her sense of humor was perfect. There were some giraffes taking forever to cross the road and she kept calling them "the sassy giraffes."

dsc0672jn.jpg

dsc0673b.jpg

The safari is one of Mark's favorite things in the entire world. He can pretty much do the spiel. "The savannah acts as a super highway in Africa."

dsc0675di.jpg

dsc0678dg.jpg

Rhino cuddle party!

dsc0680rv.jpg

Cheetahs!

dsc0682zzu.jpg

We could also see the female lion this morning!!

dsc0683nh.jpg

The safari took the perfect amount of time and then it was time for our 10:20 am reservation at Tusker House!

dsc0685w.jpg

This was my first time doing Donald's Safari breakfast so I was REALLY excited. Mark was too! We met Donald before we even headed into the restaurant.

dsc0686o.jpg

We were brought to our table and they gave us Jungle Juice to start out! That was Mark's first time having it and he loved it!

dsc0687zb.jpg

The buffet was great! I started off with a ham and cheese frittata and it was my FAVORITE. Oh my God. It just tasted perfect. There were also TATER TOTS. And MICKEY WAFFLES. Like, hello?! Best breakfast ever.

dsc0689o.jpg

My second plate consisted of mostly sugar. I had more frittata because it's perfect, I had cinnamon bread pudding with vanilla sauce, cherry cobbler, and a glazed donut. I LOVE ME SOME SUGAR.

dsc0692a.jpg

Goofy skipped us by accident so Daisy was our first character! She was great!

dsc0693tb.jpg

dsc0694c.jpg

dsc0695vc.jpg

Then we had Mickey come by and say hello! God, I LOVE these costumes!!!

April 25th, 2013 (Part 2) - The Kitchen Sink!

Finally Goofy made our way back to the table! He was SUCH a goofball to say the least.

dsc0703dd.jpg

dsc0706d.jpg

dsc0707av.jpg

They also brought Mark a little cupcake and a birthday card for his birthday! He was so excited! Yay for celebrating!

dsc0700vx.jpg

dsc0701mz.jpg

dsc0702nv.jpg

We finished up our breakfast and headed over to Rafiki's Planet Watch! Mark had never been over there and I can't remember the last time I went there, so we figured it would be a good little space filler before we had to leave DAK!

We got over there and waited in line to meet Rafiki!

dsc0709wq.jpg

dsc0714r.jpg

By the time we met him, we just breezed through the building and had to go back to Patterson.

img0376gcm.jpg

We went to our Communications class at 1:30. It was our 2nd last one!

After that, I threw in my laundry and went to the gym! I was feeling frustrated today with a lot of things so it felt good to go exercise it off.

I went back to the apartment, showered, got ready, and then Mark and I drove over to the Beach Club! We met Surge over there. We spent some time pin trading around the Yacht and Beach Club while waiting for Shane.

About 20 minutes before Shane got there, we put our name in at Beaches and Cream. They told us it would take an hour but it definitely did not seem that long.

We were seated at one of the middle tables. Shane and I both got Cesar salads. I didn't want to only eat ice cream for dinner, surprisingly. :p

dsc0715io.jpg

After the salad we ordered THE KITCHEN SINK! 8 scoops of ice cream, every topping in the kitchen, and A WHOLE CAN OF WHIPPED CREAM!

dsc0716n.jpg

I loved everything about the Kitchen Sink! (Except the mint ice cream. I could've done without that) It was absolutely HUGE. Thank God I went with three boys or else we wouldn't have even come close to finishing it.

dsc0718lm.jpg

We ate the majority of the sink but by the end it got pretty soupy. I pretty much ate the majority of the cherries and A LOT of ice cream. The boys all devoured the cookies and cakes and brownies and stuff.

End product:

dsc0721xn.jpg

Happy birthday to you.

dsc0722tx.jpg

I didn't feel as disgusting as I thought I would after eating the kitchen sink so that was an accomplishment in itself!

After we finished eating, we went back to the apartments and went to sleep!

April 26th-28th, 2013 - When I Was Sick ):

April 26th, 2013

This morning I got up and got ready to go to Trails End with Rachelle. We drove over to Fort Wilderness! The meal I got didn't sit too well with me, but Rachelle loved hers!

We left Fort and headed over to Publix because I had to grab a couple things. Then we went back to the apartment and I got my stuff for work.

I felt really out of it. As time went on during my shift, I kept feeling worse and worse.

When it was finally time for my break, I walked across the lobby and my ears started ringing. I went to the bathroom and I almost passed out. It was terrifying.

I went on my break for 45 minutes and I told my leader I wasn't feeling well. She said she could ask if someone wanted to extend until close for me so I could go home. Thankfully someone did so I was able to leave.

I just kept feeling worse. I can't believe how everything just hit me so suddenly. I had to sit in my car for a while before I felt like driving and once I got home, I couldn't move from my car. My friend Tara from work offered to go get me ginger ale and Gatorade from Walgreens and I was so thankful.

I went up to my room and got sick and it was the worst thing in the world. :sad1: I haven't gotten sick since the early days of high school and now I'm away from home all by myself and I'm sick. It's literally like my biggest fear.

I laid in bed for the rest of the night. Shane went down to my car and got all of my stuff for me. Then I was just on and off sleeping ALL night. It was the longest night of my life.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

April 27th, 2013

I woke up this morning and immediately knew there was no way I could go into work today. Literally, I could not stand for more than 30 seconds. Driving there and standing for 8 hours just would not have been safe. It's not like I didn't want to go in, but I physically couldn't. I felt so awful about the whole thing.

I couldn't move from my bed all morning and I felt TERRIBLE. I tried to find someone to take me to the doctor and finally Surge agreed to take me over. I went to CentraCare and they gave me a prescription and a doctors note.

Then we went to Walgreens so I could pick up my prescription. Then I went back to Patterson and just passed out asleep.

I woke up because work called... and then I went back to sleep for four hours.

All I ate all day was ritz crackers and I drank Gatorade and water. Ugh it was literally the worst. I felt so alone. I just wish I had someone to take care of me. ): I feel so helpless when I'm sick.

I spent the rest of the night laying in bed. There wasn't much else I could really do!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

April 28th, 2013

I slept in until 11 am this morning which felt wonderful. I got a solid straight 9 hours of sleep even though I took all of those naps yesterday.

I felt a little bit better but it was still hard for me to stand up and get out of bed. Finally during the later afternoon I could eat some bland foods and I was able to take a shower. So that was good.

I really didn't leave my bed all day because, once again, I physically couldn't. I'm praying that I feel good enough to work tomorrow. I have to go in at 2 pm. Wish me luck.

Coolmom

First time poster, long time follower. Hope you feel better soon. I live across the country for my mom, I am in my 40's, and I have a husband and son. When I am sick, the FIRST thing I do is call my mom so I can at least hear her say "poor baby". It stinks to be sick away from loved ones. Get well soon!

:( I hope you're feeling better soon! Even though I'm a Mom myself when I'm sick I still just want my Mom to take care of me. Your TR is getting me through the countdown to our trip! Only 48 days to go-so excited! I keep wondering if I might run into you while we're there lol.

Feel better Jess xoxoxo. I have been feeling pretty sick for the past few days too. :-/

Sending lots more "feel better" vibes your way, Jess - sorry you're under the weather! Get lots of rest and fluids.

Aaah! I got a little excited to hear you were celebrating Marks birthday on the 25th because that was my birthday. But, I'll settle for a St.'s day :) Looks like you had a great week. I'm sorry the end was so yucky for you. I hope you start to feel better and have fun at work again.

Hope you feel better soon, Jess! Sending healthy vibes your way.

Every time you post that carrot cake cookie my mouth starts watering. I MUST try it in May when I arrive for my CP!
