UGH! Valentines week around MK would have been amazing! I'm so jealous you got to meet Bert!! Definitely got a lot of awesome meet and greets in there that day!

How much of a discount did you get on the tickets for your family? Is it only 10%? Do those tickets have the RFID? I can't wait to visit my daughter in April!

Yup - 10%! And yeah I think they had RFID. I don't know exactly what that is but I'm assuming it's the "touch to enter the park" deal.

February 16th, 2013 - The Plaza

This morning I worked from 7 am to 3:30 pm. After work I went back to Wilderness Lodge.

I posted on twitter:
I casually went home to this after work today.

I took a few more pictures of the resort during the daylight. This is the view of the lobby from up on the 6th floor. It's MAGICAL.

I got back to the room and LOOK AT WHAT OUR MOUSEKEEPER LEFT US!!! Oh my God... when Dea got back and saw that she was just so impressed!

I was thinking about my Magic Cookie Bar all day at work, so I snacked on it when I got back to the room. OH MY GOD IT WAS SO GOOD.

MAGIC COOKIE BARS LITERALLY ARE MAGICAL. So many thoughts are running through my head. It's THAT good!!!

@PaulynnRaley posted the recipe on twitter for me, so I'll post it here as well. You all are WELCOME.

Then Mom, Nana, and Dea came back from Epcot. Dea and I decided to go down to the pool! It was pretty cool and windy out, but the pool was heated and the hot tub felt WONDERFUL. So we stayed down there for a little while.

We went back up and showered and got ready to go! We took the boat over to Magic Kingdom. It got FREEZING outside. The wind was AWFUL and gusty and we were all freezing to death.

We physically ran in the park and to The Plaza for dinner. We checked in and were seated within 3 minutes.

Mom and I both ordered meatloaf because we were in the mood for some warm food! YUMMY. It was absolutely DELICIOUS. I ate almost all of it. That's the kind of comfort food I seriously needed.

Nana ordered the tuna sandwich and got it on a gluten free roll!

Dea got the grilled chicken sandwich minus the ham that usually comes with it. She thought it was really good!

Since we are on the dining plan now, we all got dessert! Mom and I both got SUCH GOOD BANANA SPLITS YUM.

And Dea got the brownie sundae which was HUGE!

We were going to stay and hang around MK because it was open until 1:00 am but it was FREEZING. We went in the Emporium and Nana bought Dea sweatpants and bought me a blanket. Then we took the boat back to Wilderness Lodge. It was totally worth going to Magic Kingdom for dinner. We had SUCH a good meal at the Plaza!!!

We got back to Wilderness and we went to the gift shop. I needed to buy something warm to wear tomorrow because its supposed to be even colder! I got a nice long sleeve wilderness lodge shirt that I love!

Then we went up to the room and went to bed! I was EXHAUSTED!

I am beyond excited for our stay at WL in Aug, but even more so now (if that's even possible) reading your trip report! I showed my 13 year old pictures more than once now and each time he's in awe and thinks it's too cool! I wasn't sure we'd be able to top the Cars suite at Art of Animation!

Thank you for the recipe! My 13 year old has a cooking project for a class at school and wanted to bake something so I think maybe we will try making these!

Did you feel like The Plaza was worth it for the DDP?? I never thought of that as a place where I'd use it but I might have to consider it now, that food looked good!

So sorry I didn't meet up with you and Diannys!!! I was getting ready for the day when she texted me haha. She and I worked at BBB together when I was a CP 5 years ago. I was on the 2nd team after they opened which was pretty cool as well!!

Hey Jess

We may have stayed in the same room at WL, if not- nearby. We were 1 room from the end and it was magical for out first trip as a family to watch fireworks and the electric boat parade every night from our balcony!!! The only scary thing was because the 6th floor balconies are solid wall, we had to let the kids stand on chairs to see!

WL will always have a special place in our hearts!

I'm really odd, but I really like meatloaf. Any time I see a picture of it, I think about how it might taste. Haha, my husband thinks it's so weird that I do that. I think it's because I grew up with my mom's meatloaf that she makes using mushroom soup, which I love. When I was older and realized most people make it with ketchup and then others use brown gravy, I was like, WHOA REALLY? So now I have a strange fascination for it, and I totally just started thinking about meatloaf after seeing your picture.

I'll trade ya sushi for the meatloaf!

You are doing such an awesome job with all the updates!! I don't know how you find time for it all, but I am SO glad that you do! I can't get over how gorgeous Wilderness Lodge is- we are going to dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe during our upcoming May trip and I can't wait to see it in person for the first time! It is so big and spacious in there! I agree- I think your room had the perfect view- the beautiful pool, electric water pageant, and Wishes- it really doesn't get much better than that!

RachelNinja - I guess my family must be odd too. I grew up with meatloaf made the same way, so moist and yummy! I make one now stuffed with spinach and cheese and rolled. It's sooo good.

And while I can't resist sushi, if Jess doesn't take you up on the trade, I'll trade meatloaf for the shrimp and green garlic sauce from Sanaa you mentioned in one of your Weak Sauce TRs. Must have it!!
