DISNEY COLLEGE PROGRAM - A Spring 2013 Adventure! *COMPLETE* 11/20

Okay , I guess I'll work up the nerve to say hi to you. ;) We'll be there in the beginning of May and I am so excited to see that the Flower and Garden festival will now have some food and wine booths! Nom nom nom.

I have to say that we are more likely to run into your friend Mark since he is friends with some characters. You know how we like to character meet with DD!

That magic coôkie bar looks amazing! And your visit with your family looks like its going awesome!

February 17th, 2013 (Part 1) - Magic Kingdom with the Girls!

This morning we woke up and headed over to the Polynesian for breakfast! It was SO cold outside… it was like in 40 degree weather! It's painful to be outside when it's that cold because Florida still has humidity even when it's cold. Brrr I sure missed my winter jacket.

I posted on twitter:
It's one of those deceiving weather days. It LOOKS beautiful... but don't be fooled. You will freeze when you go outside.

I became a Floridian in a matter of three weeks. Who's surprised though?

Our chosen restaurant this morning was Kona! It was still Valentine’s week so I needed to try their Valentine’s special – the Red Velvet Pancakes!

dsc0172bm.jpg

They were DELICIOUS!! I only ate about half of them because they were so rich, but they were YUMMY. I’m so glad I got to try them!

dsc0176bo.jpg

Mom got Kona's traditional pineapple macadamia nut pancakes which you can never go wrong with. They were amazing as usual!

dsc0174h.jpg

Nana got gluten free and lactose free pineapple macadamia nut pancakes! Disney is just so wonderful and accommodating for any dietary needs!

Lastly, Dea got chocolate chip pancakes, which she seemed to love!!

dsc0173o.jpg

Time for the Magic Kingdom! We took the resort monorail over because the express was BUSY. It was Sunday of President’s Day weekend.

I was cold.

img8572l.jpg

It was the last day of True Love Week!

img8595ac.jpg

I took this picture on Main Street USA. I LOVE MY LIFE.

img8596e.jpg

Time for the Enchanted Tiki Room!

dsc0177eq.jpg

dsc0178rt.jpg

dsc0179tz.jpg

That was a lovely way to start the day because we got to be inside!

dsc0185du.jpg

I posted on twitter:
Days like today make me appreciate the tiki room and it's warmth even more than usual.

img8598xm.jpg

Then we went on Pirates of the Caribbean!

February 17th, 2013 (Part 2) - Magic Kingdom with the Girls!

We got off right at 11:20 am and that’s when Aladdin and Jasmine were coming outside to greet! Aladdin was PERFECT.

dsc0191jg.jpg

We talked about Jasmine's lovely winter garb and how all of the jewels on it are from the cave of wonders! The two of them spent quite a good amount of time chatting with us. They were so wonderful to meet!

dsc0192vx.jpg

dsc0194vp.jpg

LOVE THEM!

dsc0196qq.jpg

Then we used our fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! We were in the third row!

dsc0198yj.jpg

Mom actually grabbed a few pictures of us while we were on the ride!

dsc0199ty.jpg

dsc0200fx.jpg

After that we FINALLY went on It’s a Small World. Nana had been begging us to go on this ride because it’s her favorite. The last few days we were at Magic Kingdom, the like was 35-40 minutes long. This time it was still 25, but we just decided to wait. She was very happy to finally get back on that ride again and show it to Dea!

dsc0202ks.jpg

Mexico!

dsc0203xt.jpg

Nana is in her glory!

dsc0204bc.jpg

GIRAFFES!

dsc0205iv.jpg

Nana had a lot of photo requests.

dsc0206od.jpg

dsc0207et.jpg

dsc0208ls.jpg

Then Mom went to go get some fastpasses and Nana, Dea, and I went to Casey’s Corner to order our food for lunch! We all got hot dogs and french fries! YUMMY!!

dsc0209m.jpg

After that, I was getting REALLY tired. I had to work a late shift tonight, so I went back to the room and took a 2 hour nap.

When I woke up, I went to Roaring Fork and used a quick service credit to buy myself some dinner to bring to work. I got a delicious turkey sandwich, some grapes, and an applesauce. Then I headed over to Coronado and worked from 6:30 pm – 2 am.

When I left work, I was hit with FREEZING cold temperatures. It was 35 degrees outside and my windshield was covered in ice! IN FLORIDA! I had to sit there for about 5 minutes while it defrosted.

Then I drove back to Wilderness Lodge. I went through the incredibly peaceful lobby up to my room and fell asleep within seconds!

February 18th, 2013 - Our Last Full Day Spent in Hollywood!

This morning, everyone went to Hollywood Studios to get their Toy Story Mania fastpasses. I had to sleep in, though. I didn’t wake up until around 10:20 am, which was fine by me!

dsc0210xg.jpg

dsc0211uc.jpg

I got up, showered, and took the bus to DHS! The Goodyear Blimp was flying over Disney this week because Kelly & Michael were filming in the Magic Kingdom. I didn't get to see them but I heard the show was awesome!

dsc0213gs.jpg

I walked in and saw Mom and Guest Relations waiting in line to get their boarding passes printed. She told me to go meet up with Nana and Dea and order our food for lunch!

So I met up with them under the hat and we went over to Pizza Planet! There was a super long line winding out the door, but we waited. It didn’t take more than 15-20 minutes and the food was GOOD. I didn’t mind waiting at all!

dsc0216zo.jpg

dsc0214k.jpg

Mom found us a table outside so we all ate our lunch. Everything was PERFECT today. The pizza and salad were both so fresh.

dsc0221zj.jpg

dsc0222ua.jpg

The lemon meringue cupcake was HEAVENLY. Mom and Dea got the cappuccino cupcake and they LOVED IT.

This is a prime example of the Disney Dining Plan, folks. :lmao:

dsc0220s.jpg

When we finished eating, Dea and I grabbed some fastpasses for Star Tours. Then we had about an hour to kill, so we went on the Backlot Tour!

It had been a few years since I went on this! I actually really liked it! I enjoyed seeing all of the props from the movies. Also, the special effects with the water were pretty cool!

THE HOUSE FROM THE HANNAH MONTANA MOVIE!

dsc0223fx.jpg

PETER PAN ADVERTISEMENT!

dsc0224go.jpg

MONSTERS UNIVERSITY! Holy cow, I'm so excited for this movie. And I love how they have a website!

dsc0225ix.jpg

MUPPET CAB.

dsc0226el.jpg

I love the Kingdom Keeper books! I read the first few when I was younger and it's so fun to read a story based in Disney World!

dsc0227tt.jpg

Mickey!

dsc0228zk.jpg

The Earful Tower:

dsc0230wp.jpg

dsc0231be.jpg

When this part happened Dea was so afraid that she was going to get soaked because she was on the end! It actually was slightly terrifying!

dsc0234ns.jpg

DISNEY PLANE!!!!

dsc0235fe.jpg

After the ride they had another walk-through. YAY FOR A TITANIC POSTER!

dsc0236i.jpg

SUPERMAN!

dsc0238oq.jpg

This is the best backdrop behind a register EVER.

dsc0241dv.jpg

After that we were let out right near the meet and greet area for Mike and Sulley! One of Dea’s top favorite characters is Boo, so we had to meet this famous duo!

Also, I just got this private message from happybelle and I wanted to pass the message along! Please watch this little girl's video to help her reach her goal! It is really beautiful. (:

I follow this child's Mom's Trip Reports (blessedmom4) and the little girl turns 10 next Sunday. I also have been following along with your college program TR, simply amazing! You have a lot of readers and I thought you might help this little girl with her birthday request. She wanted to reach 10,000 views by her birthday March 3. She did that and her new goal is 15,000 views. This is her video on youtube. I hoped you might twitter it out since you have what I would imagine are a lot of followers reading your posts. You just seem like a genuinely kind lady and I thought I would ask for your help. Her Mom has said repeatedly we can post it anywhere we can think of: Facebook, DIS, Twitter, emails. Her Mom doesn't use social media and she needs help spreading the word. I wish you only the best as you continue this amazing college adventure and I will continue to read.

Hey Jess! I love all your TR's so far!! So jealous of your disney life... I applied for and got accepted for the CRP (Cultural Rep CM in Epcot) program a few years back but didnt end up going so now I just live vicariously through all my CM friends and now your TR's LOL :thumbsup2

I wanted to ask - have you ever raced in the Expedition Everest challenge? Some friends and I are running it this year in May then im treating myself to a weeklong solo trip afterwards... im down to either CSR or CBR for my resort...I loved CSR the last time I stayed there but looks like CBR will win this year since its one of the mods I havent tried yet....

Oh one last thing...I remember awhile back you mentioned a website that you can order special Disney hair clips...I totally forgot the website do you mind messaging me a link? I'd love to order some for my upcoming trip...

Best of luck and keep spreading the magic!!

Yes, I am officially addicted to your thread! I am catching up on my reading during the Oscar's! LOL!
We will visit within the next few months & my 16 year old daughter & I hope to bump into you. She is one day hoping to do the DCP, however, she is so back & forth on what she wants to major in, she has no idea if she will even have something that qualifies her. Your thread is what has made her so interested in this program so thank you for that! She is only a junior so has plenty of time to decide what she wants to do. I suppose it's always a good thing when she knows she could major in pretty much anything that interests her. (which is a LOT!)
This will be our first trip to DW as a family & will be celebrating my son's 21st birthday!
Thanks a million for sharing so much with us! :)

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying!
No I have never done a race, but good luck to you! Honestly, I was not a big fan of CBR. Coronado is WAY nicer, but it's up to you if you want to stay at every resort at least one.
And the website is magicalribbons.tumblr.com
Thank you!

if you even had any idea how excited I get everytime that I see you've updated you'd think i was nuts!!! I get so hyper n have to scream AGGGGHHHH I love it!!!!

Wow your updates today have made me hungry

Pancakes, pizza and awesome looking cupcakes ......, I want them all !! :)

Howdy! :wave2: I'm Ms. Camille. :)

I'm coming out of lurkdom to finally say hello. I've read through your other TR's and now your DCP TR and I'm thrilled to see you made it into the program!! :goodvibes I can't think of anyone else who deserves to be there more. ::yes::

You're about the same age as my boy Ty (third year at Texas A&M), the DCP is something I've been trying to get him to apply to for a while now. He's majoring in environmental studies, and wants to help keep sharks, skates and rays around, I'm thinking the Living Seas Pav. would be right up his alley. We'll see. :)

I'm so excited to hear you are working at CSR!! :dance3: It's my favorite Mod. resort and also where I'll be staying with my daughter (dd13-Mackenzie)and a good friend (Maroo on the Dis), come this next May 8th. We actually have a few places we're staying at while on our trip, but CSR is where we'll be staying part of the time. :goodvibes Hoping to run into you while were there, it would be such a honor to meet your sweet face in person. :goodvibes I think you are just about as adorable as they come. :thumbsup2 ::yes::

We're coming to WDW to celebrate my personal triumph of losing a bunch of weight, almost 80 lb.'s so far. I had hoped a 100 by the trip but some things with my mom's health have come up and my focus is with her right now. :worried:
Doesn't leave a lot of time to dedicate to my weight loss, hoping at the very least another 10 lb.'s by the trip. :goodvibes WDW is my prize to look forward to while I did it, I can't think of a better way to celebrate than going to WDW!! :cheer2:

Keep up the wonderful and amazing job you are doing! It truly sounds like a dream has come true for you.
I know I would have done something like this program had I known about it at your age. I would love to retire in FL. and work for Disney some day, making someone else's dreams come true would be like heaven on earth. :cloud9:
I'm so blessed by you getting to do just that. :lovestruc

In the mean time I'm getting my sox blessed off by reading your TR, it's so amazing to see you having such a great time while you are there. :goodvibes

Jess, you are a very kind person. Thank you for helping me spread the word about this child's video. I can't wait to see what your next adventures will be. You are adorable and have lots of fans!

I love you shot of the real and topiary Earful Towers! I have never been able to get that shot, so I was excited to see it!

Hi Jess

I just wanted to let you know that I am really enjoying all your reports! You are a fantastic writer! I am looking forward to our future stay at Coronado because of your reports! We had already booked it before I started reading and now I am very happy with our choice thanks to you! We arrive April 23rd maybe we will be lucky meet you!

I look forward to more updates!

Just got caught up on a LOT of updates I had missed! Your Nana meeting Snow White was absolutely precious. I also loved all your character pics from Valentine's Day! We met that same Rapunzel, and she was awesome with my DS. He really has a crush on her now I think!

Sorry the audition didn't work out this time, but maybe on another day you will have more luck. :goodvibes

Hi there Jess :wave2:

I absolutely LOVE your trip reports and I'm so in for this one! I cant wait to read about everything you get to experience! You are such an awesome person and you definitely deserve this amazing experience :)

And i'm gonna be heading down to the world in like June and it'd be crazy if we bumped into you somewhere along the way. It'd be like meeting a celebrity!

Can't wait to read more!

THOSE RED VELVET PANCAKES OMG. I went to ihop the other day and they had them, but I bet they were nowhere as good as Kona’s.

That Aladdin is SO perfect.

Just noticed your sweatshirt. I LOVE IT.

I can never get enough of its a small world. Your pictures are so great of it!

I can’t believe how cold it was in Florida. But then again, I am sitting here in lovely ol’ MA with snow on the ground. 40 degrees sounds like HEAVEN right now.

I NEED TO TRY THE CAPPUNCINO CUPCAKE SO BAD. It looks amazing.

I used to love the Hannah Montana movie  I remember that house!

Jess I am so impressed you're managing to keep up with writing your TR between shifts. I work shifts and I basically just want to vegetate when I'm not working. I salute your stamina!

Your Nana, mom and Jonathan look SO alike. I can see Jonathan in Dea too. Your family has strong genes throughout the generations! I think you look more like your Dad :).

That was so nice of you to post the link to Lisa's video! I have watched it a few times, but your link reminded me to watch it again.

I kind of love the backlot tour, but I wish people would slooooooowwwwww down when they are doing the walk throughs because I always want to stand around and look at all of the movie props!
