DISNEY COLLEGE PROGRAM - A Spring 2013 Adventure! *COMPLETE* 11/20

July 28th, 2013 (Part 3) - UNDER-APPRECIATED ATTRACTION DAY

Once we finished, I wanted to hop back over to Main Street so we could take some pictures. We had to say hello to Walter first! Heyy Walter!

10346799224_a3bc3bd466_z.jpg

Of course, when we got there it started raining. So we hid under the overhang that's over the ice cream parlor. Once it subsided, we actually ran into @disney_frankie!! AHH how exciting! We had been planning on meeting up so we could say hi and we just oh so conveniently bumped into each other! It was perfect! She had some INCREDIBLE pins on her lanyard, some of them were even from Disneyland Paris! She was such a sweetheart and it was so great to meet her.

Then we went back to Tomorrowland!

UNDER-APPRECIATED ATTRACTION #6: THE CAROUSEL OF PROGRESS

10346803205_d0992caf7b_z.jpg

We were going to go on some more Tomorrowland attractions, but all of the under-appreciated ones had really long lines. HOW IRONIC. We hung out at the dance party for a little bit just dancing and stuff, but then we had more stuff to do. MOVING RIGHT ALONG!

Then we went over to Adventureland!

UNDER APPRECIATED ATTRACTION #7 - THE ENCHANTED TIKI ROOM

Then it was time for the Enchanted Tiki Room! I would say that this attraction is definitely not awkward at all!! It does fall under the under-appreciated category though. Not by us fans... but by a lot of people who don't know the history! Thankfully though, we are huge fans. I was singing along with the entire show!! I think I know a majority of the words to the Enchanted Tiki Room. It's one of my proudest traits.

Oh Adventureland, how we love you.

Jungle, Jungle! Sorry but you're one of our most visited attractions so we couldn't ride today. We always appreciate you!!

What other theme park in the world would have flowers as gorgeous as this? Really though.

UNDER APPRECIATED ATTRACTION #8 - THE SWISS FAMILY TREEHOUSE

I swear I have never seen that attraction so crowded!

...And no, this is not sarcasm. It seriously was really crowded!

After that we walked out of Adventureland and saw that there was a rainbow right over Crystal Palace! Whenever I see a rainbow I take it as a sign for good things to come! This one was extremely beautiful, too.

While we were on the bridge, we were just talking and trying to figure out where to go next, when I got approached by two little girls. They said, extremely excited, "Hi, are you Jess? We read your trip reports!!!!" I have been approached in the parks several times, but I have never had anyone get this excited about meeting me. I felt like an actual celebrity! (: They were SO cute. Their names were Rachel and Katie and we were all just so excited to meet each other! Their excitement was contagious! I asked them about their trip and they told me they have been following along on my report. Oh and not to mention, they're from England so they have the most beautiful accents. They were just so cute and so happy!! We all took a picture together. Meeting them made my day!

10346777146_173fff97bd_z.jpg

When they left, I could have cried. Those girls were proof that this trip report really has touched the lives of so many people. I couldn't feel more happy and more blessed to have the opportunity that I have had for the past six months. It really added to the whole emotional wrap up to this program. I can't believe how happy I made them. And as a result they made ME so happy. Making others happy is what it's all about, and I'm just so glad I was able to do that for them. I will never, ever forget those girls. They really and truly made my day. (:

July 28th, 2013 (Part 4) - UNDER-APPRECIATED ATTRACTION DAY

After that, we realized that we were getting hungry, so we went to Pinocchio's to get dinner! I got the all natural lemonade with wildberry foam for my drink. I can't believe they have this drink at a quick service!! IT'S MY FAVORITE THING!!

10346767375_815ef88b5a_z.jpg

Then for dinner we both got the BBQ chicken flatbread! That was REALLY yummy! The cheese and the chicken tasted so delicious together. Then to throw BBQ sauce on it... YUM. Seriously. Very good choice on our part. I'm glad we tried something new!

10346768965_4065bc467c_z.jpg

We sat at a table with a Small World view, enjoyed our meals, and then continued on our way!

We ended up over in Tomorrowland to see how the lines were for everything. But before that we had to go to the Tomorrowland dance party to give Stitch a hug!! SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!! He was great and we danced and had so much fun!!

Ahh so much happiness. Then it was time for us to go on the speedway!

UNDER-APPRECIATED ATTRACTION #9 - THE TOMORROWLAND INDY SPEEDWAY

10346765515_a5aeb871a5_z.jpg

The line finally went down to like 20 minutes or so. So we hopped in a car and Ryan drove us around the frumpiest race track of them all! We were just laughing the whole time. It was hilarious!

10346765774_245b03042a_z.jpg

Once we finished at the Speedway, we were both getting exhausted. Time to go home. We took the resort monorail back to the TTC, the tram back to the car, and then go home. We got on 9 under-appreciated attractions today. That's what I call a success! :thumbsup2

Just loving all the updates, Jess. And now you are onto the first week where we were down there as well. Funny how many times we were in the same park/same resort area and still never saw you. I guess I am not the most observant person! ;)

Wonderful to know you are still enjoying your amazing time living out your dream.

Thanks for all the great updates. I am sure life, school, etc is overwhelming, but we all appreciate you finishing up your wonderful adventure!

The artsy picture of Rapunzel's tower from the River boat was incredible. Keep the reports coming, we love 'em! :)

It seems strange to be posting for the first time this late in the discussion. However, over the last 2 weeks I have read through this entire TR. Not only has it been an awesome adventure to learn about the DCP and dream about being back in Disney again, but it's been inspiring to see somebody following their dreams and having the time of their life. Thanks for sharing everything and I pray that God blesses everything you do in the future.

July 19th-21st, 2013

July 20th, 2013 - Eating with Courtney and Megan at The Plaza!

Then I fell asleep for a solid half hour. My alarm was suddenly going off and it told me GET UP GO TO MAGIC KINGDOM!!!

I had some very important people I had to meet up with at Magic Kingdom tonight - Courtney and Megan! I know both of them from twitter/instagram and we have all been following each other for a very long time! Since they were going to be in Disney, we wanted to meet up and they invited me to go to dinner with their family! I was so excited!

I met Courtney and Megan outside of the Plaza right at 8:30 pm for our reservation! I got to meet their parents and they were all SO SWEET! We had so much to talk about the College Program, Disney Vacation Club, the DIS, taking food pictures, Aulani, etc. Also, they told me about the website that their family created called disneyworldlive.com where they have been documenting their trips since 2004! They have tons of photos from all of their vacations and it sounds adorable!! I told them I would go check it out and Im really looking forward to exploring it!

I got a burger for dinner and it was DELICIOUS. I love burgers. And big French fries. Dang, that was a good meal. I was so happy. I ate the entire thing, too. I dont know how I consume so much food.

We took a few pictures afterwards and said goodbye. They were headed back to Bay Lake to watch the fireworks! I went to Adventureland and met up with Ryan right on the bridge. The first thing we did was go on Pirates of the Caribbean. Then we went back to Aloha Isle and shared a Dole Whip float!

It just took me 2 and a half hours to catch up, but it was TOTALLY worth it.

What wonderful updates!! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. It makes the time between my Disney trips tolerable, that's for sure!! I have learned a few things along the way too. I've never been to HoopDeeDoo before, but we're going in January... WHOO HOOO!!

Have a magical day! :yay:

I just finally read all of your trip report and wow you have done an amazing job with it! I wish I would have done the college program in my day. I am sure when the time comes my little ones (7,6,and3) will jump at the chance, they are all ready in love with Disney world!

Awww, this almost made me cry with happiness. I'm so glad that we made you as happy as you made us! I remember we were so excited when we saw you on the bridge. You have definitly inspired me so much, your enthusiasm is really admirable and i cant wait to do the Cultural Representative program when i'm old enough. I'm so happy that we were included in this report and you wrote such nice things about us. I will never forget meeting you either and you made my day too. <33 :goodvibes

I'm sorry I haven't updated my character list since I've been updating more often! Check July 1st for his brief introduction.

Jess, just want to say like everyone else, I am so happy Lia talked you into finishing this TR! I know life is so different for you now that your CP is over. Glad you are taking the time to finish this for us, your faithful followers!

One other thing I wanted to say...I follow you and Lia on Twitter and Instagram, and I am SO EXCITED to see what the two of you are planning for your MNSSHP together. Both of you are so creative, it is going to be EPIC I am sure! popcorn::

I was so engrossed in reading all your updates this morning that I almost missed my ride to work. Thanks for all the great work!

The underappreciated attractions day was an excellent idea. There are some attraction that I would be interested in seeing if I had tons of time to fit them in. But, with only a week vacation I usually just stick to my "must do's" and a few well planned new things. But there is a lot of appeal in checking out those less visited places. I liked the speedway pics as I have never even come close to riding that one, but maybe someday!

Hi Jess! My name is Elisabeth and I am 14 years old. I just wanted to say I LOVE your trip reports! You inspire me to be my Disney-loving self and to embrace my inner frump! Thank you for taking the time to share your trips with all of your fans.:)
