Hi,

I really need some first hand info or really close second hand on the Disney Collection's Poly. We have looked at trying to book a couple of nites there and are trying to understand this whole Kamehameha Club category, and, sadly I have not been able to get really clear info from Member services.....

The point Usage is HUGE, so I really need to justify it.....

Room type
Room Layout
Room location
extra services?

What and where exactly is this?

Thank you soooo much
T.

I have stayed in the concierge rooms at the Poly and loved it. For detailed info, go to allears.net and google King Kamehameha. The rooms, I don't think, were much different that the regular rooms, but the views are. We would eat breakfast most mornings and have late night snacks in the concierge lounge. I hope this helps.

We stayed in September and had an incredible water view with a balcony - great for watching the electric water parade every night and fireworks. I think it's worth it if you plan on catching all the snacks and drinks - we have 4 kids so it's a lot easier for us to grab our breakfast/snacks in the club and eat before we go to the parks rather than going to a restaurant. and the evening snacks are yummy! if you don't think you'll make it back for the food, i would save my points/$.

Yes, the rooms are no different from other rooms in the original longhouses of which Hawaii is one. Two queens and a very nice daybed, one bathroom with the sink inside/watercloset behind a privacy wall.

Half the rooms have an absolutely beautiful view of Seven Seas lagoon. The other half are gardenview and face an interior courtyard with beautiful landscaping. There is a pool hidden by that landscaping.

The location of Hawaii is wonderful. Besides the pool above, the Volcano pool is right outside the door. It is the closest longhouse to the boat launch to MK and a short walk to the GCH.

The concierge staff will help you with dining and recreation reservations. It's best to contact them ahead of any booking windows as they can't book, let's say, CRT any better than you can once the tables are gone. They will print boarding passes, etc.. You also check in there.

The lounge offers continental breakfast, light snacks and beverages mid day, appetizers, wine and beer from 5-7pm and desserts and cordials from 8-10pm

There are two robes in the closet for use during your stay. Turndown service is automatic for these rooms.

HTH a bit.

Thanks for your input,

SO this DVC Category has nothing to do with the King Kamehameha "room", it is just your regular room with concierge service....?

King Kamehameha is the name of the lounge for concierge guests.

It is the name for the whole experience not just the lounge. Each deluxe at WDW has a name for its club level(s).

That is the name for the concierge lounge at the Poly. The experience that goes along with it is concierge service. Club level means concierge service, special building/floor, and access to the lounge.

It is a hefty point price, but it's a hefty cash price too. I have stayed twice at the Poly at the club level. It is a wonderful experience ....if you enjoy all the perks. If you would rather have a larger room or a suite ......this would not be for you.

If it helps, a club level room during regular season is 67 points, Sun-Thurs. The same club level room with lagoon view is $670 per night.

No, King Kamehaha Club is the name for the club or concierge level experience at the Polynesian. We've stayed there quite a few times although never on points. The lounge is just referred to as "the concierge lounge, located on the second floor of the Hawaii longhouse..." The welcome letter which you receive at check in on the first floor says "Welcome to Disney's Polynesian Resort King Kamehameha Club. Emails welcome you to the K K Club too. Royal Palm Club at the GF encompasses three floors of rooms not just the lounge, etc.. I have our copy of the welcome letter from check in this month. The menu for the lounge also just refers to that space as the "concierge lounge."

But isn't it a great experience? :thumbsup2 The view from the lounge and from lagoon view rooms is the best in all of WDW IMO. It is possible to get AP rates.

We've usually stayed there and then moved to 1 or 2 BR villas but have also done the reverse. Much prefer starting at the Polynesian and then spreading out for the rest of the trip. That's what we did this trip and I really love the combination!

Don't forget the very cool Chocolate Bar with a picture of the Poly on it!!!! We have stayed there many times and will be staying there again, Cash only, too many points, We always stay lagoon view, 3rd floor, The lounge is on the 2nd and third levels, well only seating and a bathroom are on the third level, We always have breakfast there, Snacks, and a night cap!, they are great at the KKC, ohh yea, you also get a special check in, When arriving at the poly tell them you are club level, and Bell services takes you to your private check in on the first floor of the lounge. Best of luck!!
