 I am considering taking a trip to Disney for Christmas(12/23-12/30). Is there any chance of getting a discount rate at one of the nicer hotels? When would those codes typically be released and would that give me sufficient time for reservations? Also, is it horribly crowded that week? Thanks so much for any information.

For times like Christmas and Easter and other school breaks you need to get your reservation in fairly early. It may be too late, but you should give it a try. As for discounts, they may or may not be available. Ask when you call if there are any Disney Club discounts or Annual Pass discounts or AAA discounts.

There have never been any discounts that week, with the exception of last year. Post 9/11, Disney's business was off significantly and they did have discounts and availability that week.

Things are starting to rebound so it is hard to say what will happen this year. If you are planning on going, you should look into what is available. Flights and rental cars also go quickly for that week (Florida overall is very popular).

It is one of the busiest weeks at WDW with among the largest crowds of the year. It is a wonderful time to be there but it is VERY busy.

I am staying at the All Star Movies. December 7-15. I got a good discount. I am sure there are some discounts available for the moderates also.....Good luck.

My family and I will be staying at the Swan for 2 Nights from 12/25-12/27. I got an Entertainment rate of about $169/night through Dreams Unlimited.
