I am not sure if the DCG organizers want the Resort where the DC Stars have historically stayed publicized,but it is not hard to find the information with a little research.I am not sure if they want Fans who are not staying at the Resort just "hanging-out" there.
Just remember,the Games may be cancelled and even if they are held,there is no guarantee they will stay at that Resort(although likely).HI!
You probably won't receive a response,but I feel sure he will see the emails.The only Disney executive I have ever received an email response from was Meg Crofton(she is SO nice!).Again,the emails may not help,but I think Disney may be more likely to schedule the Games if they know there is a TREMENDOUS amount of interest versus very little interest.I am also jealous of your friend! I think they were expressing their opinion that they believe the Games will not happen this year.ALL the DC Stars have stayed at the same Resort for both DCG 2007 and DCG 2008.Also,thanks for all that you and the other Cast Members do that make all my trips to WDW so GREAT!You guys are THE BEST!

Disney Channel Games 2009 has never been confirmed by Disney.There were two contests last Summer in association with Subway and Verizon that had trips to DCG 2009 as prizes,but there has never been an "official" confirmation from Disney.The first major indication that DCG 2009 may not happen was when it was not mentioned during the Totally New Year programming on Disney Channel.Then Hal Boedeker was told by Gary Marsh,during an interview on January 16,that the Games may indeed not happen.Mr. Marsh told Hal that the Actors' schedules was the reason.Hal also said that,in addition to the Actors' schedules,the economy may be a factor.Hal requested an update from Disney Channel on January 19 and has not,to my knowledge,received a response.The decision has to be made by March.There is some speculation that the Games may be filmed in California.While it is certainly possible that the Games could be filmed at the same California location as the inaugural Disney Channel Games,DCG 2006,judging from past comments by both Adam Sanderson and Gary Marsh,in my opinion,I don't think that will happen.I think the Games will either be held in Champion Stadium or will not be held this year.If you would like to send Gary Marsh an email,the address is gary.marsh@disney.com . You definitely may have seen DCG 2009 mentioned somewhere.When the Subway and Verizon contests were announced last Summer,I think everyone,including myself,thought that DCG 2009 was definitely going to happen.I think planning,on some level,probably began shortly after DCG 2008 ended.By "official" confirmation,I mean that there has never been a Press Release directly from Disney announcing DCG 2009 with definite dates,disneychannelgames.com has never been made operational for DCG 2009,etc.The final,definite,"go ahead" for DCG 2009 has never been given(and unfortunately may not be).The "waiting game" continues.You're welcome!
I just "found" your thread on the Community Board Today and am glad you decided to "join the fun" this year.It appears this thread has become the "official unofficial" thread for Disney Channel Games 2009. That is so "cool" that your DD12 still talks about DCG 2008.The Disney Channel Games week is truly a "magical " time to vacation at Walt Disney World.Let's hope "no news is good news" because there certainly isn't ANY news out there right now.You're welcome!
