Disney channel games 2009 dates???

Awww! We were on our way to school this morning and our local radio station always does the celebrity birthdays and then the local "celebrity" birthdays. They said Emily Osment's name and I thought my girls were gonna break the windows with their screams. They just love Emily. I gotta admit, I am a huge fan too, what a fun and great personality she has! My daughter, who just turned 12, got an Emily Osment doll from Santa ;) I thought she would be too old for it, but it was her favorite present and it sits on her dresser.
So in conclusion...Happy Birthday Emily! :)

PS On a side note, I am bummed to hear about the games this year, we have enjoyed them! Ah well.
I am assuming that is one of your girls in the picture.WOW!She really took the Disney Channel Games 2009 cancellation news HARD!;) :)

It appears there will be an opportunity from Disney to possibly meet some of the Disney Channel Stars this year after all.D23,the first official community of Disney fans in the history of the Walt Disney Company, was launched yesterday. The signature event,D23 Expo, will be held September 10-13 at the Anaheim Convention Center. It appears there are plans for Disney Channel Stars,as well as ABC and Disney film Stars to be in attendance at the Expo. This promises to be a HUGE event so the number of DC Stars appearing could be substantial, although that is STRICTLY A GUESS!There will be a daily charge to enter the Expo and you do not have to be a member of D23 to attend.I don't think it will compare,in any way,to the Disney Channel Games but for HUGE Disney fans,it could be a fun trip with the "bonus" of possibly meeting some DC Stars.:)

haha i still have this like LITTLE hope of the dcgames.
i miss it so much. i hope they decide to do it..
it is still march....for a day or a couple days... THERE IS HOPE<3 lol

Just wondering if there's any word on the "charitable initiative." :)
Hi!:)I have heard NOTHING.Wikipedia says there will be an announcement in Mid-May for what it's worth.Whatever it is,I don't "expect" it to be a big deal-hopefully I am wrong.I certainly don't think it will involve over FORTY DC Stars in one location as was the case with Disney Channel Games!I leave for Walt Disney World Saturday for what would have been my DCG 2009 Trip.I will have a BLAST anyway because I am a HUGE WDW fan,but it won't be the same.Do you think the DC Stars will miss the Games as much as the Fans or do you think they viewed it as a "work week"?Hopefully there will be a DCG 2010,but I think there is a good chance Disney Channel Games has gone to Disney Channel Games Heaven.

The announcement from Disney Channel concerning the "new charitable initiative" is DEFINITELY supposed to be forthcoming in mid-May.I wish they would announce DCG 2010 at the same time!LOL:)

Keep us posted!!

Just got back from the world yesterday. Last year we were there for the DCGames all week. My DD had the time of her life. A couple of times this week actually commented how much she wished they would have done them again. Maybe there will be something else coming up!

I am back from what would have been my DCG 2009 Trip.I had an AWESOME trip, but there were sad moments.I went to Wide World of Sports for the Cheerleading Worlds and it was SO sad to walk into Champion Stadium and not see the field "set up' for Disney Channel Games. Also,I went to the Grand Opening of Kidani Village and afterwards walked over to Jambo House.I walked into Jambo House and had to immediately leave. All I could think about was "over there is where I met Demi Lovato, over there is where I met Jason Earles, over there is where I met Meaghan Jette Martin",etc.,etc.:)

I receive an email called the Disney Insider and on this weeks email it said next week 5-12-09 would have information on a curise with the Disney Channel stars. Already am not sure I like the idea of a cruise. This could get very expensive, especially with the economy the way it is. I enjoyed the games at the Wide World of Sports because it was open to anyone who knew about it. People could drive over or fly in and stay anywhere they could afford. I think now only the people who can afford a cruise will be able to see the stars. We will have to wait and see what the information is next week. I will try to keep you posted, as I am going back to Michigan, sometime next week. This could get expensive like the birthday party for Miley Cyrus.

Wow!I didn't think the "new charitable initiaitve" would be a CRUISE!:)This is MUCH beter than I thought it would be.I agree with all of your points that Disney Channel Games was MUCH better than a cruise because it was attainable by many more fans(there are only so many people a cruise ship will hold),the economic factor and the "atmosphere" of being at Walt Disney World cannot be topped IMHO.It will also be interesting to see how MANY DC Stars will be on the cruise-DCG had over FORTY.I doubt I will participate,BUT then again,I have never been on a cruise.;):)

AAHHHH. I LOVE DISNEY CRUISES!!! :D I'M LEGITIMATELY OBSESSED. hahha.

I just hope that they don't jack up the price so it's SUPER, SUPER expensive!! I also hope that they tell us exactly which stars will be onboard :))

Anybody else have any info on this? Not sure if I can wait until next Wednesday to get the next Disney Insider!! Definitely do not want my DD to see this before I see the price.....

I have never been on ANY cruise.I LOVE WDW!Do you think I would like the Disney Cruise or do you think I would regret not spending that time at WDW?I feel certain we will know EXACTLY who is going to be onboard(unless there are some very late additions).:)

No,there is absolutely no information out there other than the mention on the Disney Insider and it must have been a small mention on the Insider because I scanned that issue and deleted it and didn't see the announcement. Also,I "think" the next Insider will be out Tuesday.I would "expect" information to be available EVERYWHERE(Disney Channel.com,etc.) Tuesday.IF this cruise is the "new charitable initiative" and the cruise is a "charity cruise",I would think prices could be HIGH to raise as much money for charity as possible, but that is TOTAL SPECULATION.Also,I would think the cruise could possibly have a tie-in with "The Suite Life On Deck",but that is just another random speculation. We really don't know ANYTHING at this time.As long as DD doesn't see this Thread, you stand a good chance of her not finding out.:)

It is in a small but not totally inconspicuous spot in the email about "In Next Week's Insider". All it says is "
Set sail with your fave Disney Channel stars!"

Didn't they have these cruises in the past anyways?

Okay, this is a RUMOR.

I'm pretty sure Michel Musso (Oliver from Hannah Montana) will be on the cruise.

I noticed that his official myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/mitchelmusso), on the tour dates section, it says July 19-23 "Disney Cruise -TBD"

I'd love to go, the port is about 1/2 hour away from me (if it happens to be sailing from Miami, which i'm sure of)

BINGO!:)GREAT INFORMATION!I think you have "discovered" the dates!I also think DCG 2007 and 2008 red team member Mitchel is our first "confirmed" "cruiser".This is beginning to "sound" like a lot of the DC Stars may be on the cruise.Since my Birthday is July 19,I may just have to make this a Birthday/DC Stars Cruise 2009 and with the cruise lasting 4 nights, that still leaves 3 nights for a quick stay at WDW before returning home!Don't the Disney ships still sail from Port Canaveral?GREAT INFORMATION!:)

it "appears" we "may" have DC Star #2 confirmed for the Cruise.I found a quote from Jason Dolley where he says that Heaven on Earth for him will be the Disney Cruise he is going on this Summer.:)

I checked the Disney Cruise site. There is a 4 night cruise July 19. The price for cruise only 1 adult is $1,730.48 - $3,165.48. For 1 adult and 1 child (up to age 17 is child) $2,170.96 - $3,810.96. For 2 adults and 1 child $3,176.44 - $4,816.44. This is getting expensive. Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato are on tour, so they are out. I also checked for Emily Osment, Moises Arias, Jason Earles and Cody Linly and didn't find any info. I wish they would go back to Wide World of Sports or have and autograph session at one the the Disney hotel convention centers where you pay to get the autographs.

Wow, those rates are REALLY expensive.

I guess there might be a lot of disney stars on the cruise.

Mitchel is a really sweet guy, met him two years. I wish I could go & meet him again!

WEDWDW, good info! That sounds as if he will be attending this specific cruise!
