Disney channel games 2009 dates???

I second the earlier postings about smaller kids and sitting in the stands. My daughter and her friend were pushed around quite a bit, not by other girls, but by mothers elbowing their way to the front, child in tow. Fortunately, they are soccer players and were not put off by this. One particular mom physically pushed her way in front of them leaving them to watch over each of her shoulders. Not smart, when the Jonas Brothers hit the stage and those two started screaming hysterically, 12 inches from each of her ears...... She complained loudly of a headache and pushed her way out early. I was perfectly content sitting in the stands, watching the girls from there.

How did you get tickets for both areas? We were told that all the tickets either had to be field or seats and to not get separated from our group in case of emergency situations like a fire. I would have loved to take my youngest up to the seats and left the other teens on the field, except that my teen almost passed out before I could get her some water. We are going for seats this year unless field is all that is left. (Assuming there will be games or a concert.) And if we do get field, there will just have to be a different strategy for it. I heard that anyone who stood in the back of the field did great.

We've attended the DC games for the past two years and would like to go again next year. I know I can count on these boards for information on when they will take place.

Hi! I also wanted to take advantage of the 4/3 Package,so I went ahead and booked it for April 25-May 2(my best GUESS for DCG 2009 Dates is April 27-May 2)with the required $200.00 Deposit.I have until March 11 to cancel without penalty.I have NO information,but I am becoming concerned that Disney Channel Games 2009 may have been cancelled.There is a RUMOR going around to that effect.Rumors are just rumors,but there does seem to be some negative indicators.Disney has already cancelled events such as the 2009 Pirate and Princess Parties.Also,to my knowledge,Disney Channel Games 2009 was not announced and promoted during the Disney Channel's Totally New Year programming which is when Disney Channel has traditionally promoted their programs for the upcoming year.Disney Channel Games 2008 WAS announced and promoted in this way.There is also NOTHING,and I mean NOTHING,coming from Disney concerning Disney Channel Games 2009.Hopefully,the negative indicators don't mean anything and Disney Channel Games 2009 is still going to happen.Only time will tell I suppose.

any way to find out who's participating?

IF the Games happen and IF they are similar to DCG 2008,the List of Stars will not be released until shortly before the Games begin.DCG 2008 began on April 28 and the List of Stars was released on April 17.However some of the Stars "talked" about their participation earlier on their websites,My Space pages,etc.I think Selena Gomez mentioned it on her My Space page and became the first "unofficial official" DCG 2008 participant in late March.

IIRC there was a "set" of stands down the First-Base line that was reserved for Field Ticket holders who needed a "break" from the rigors of THE FIELD.

There is absolutely NO information available,at this time,about Disney Channel Games 2009.There are even indications that it "may" have been cancelled.The only predictions we can make about how tickets would be handled IF the Games take place would be based on how DCG 2007 and DCG 2008 were held.Historically,no tickets have been needed to attend the daily tapings at Champion Stadium.Fans just walk in for free and come and go as they please.For the Disney Channel Games Concert,last year tickets(free) were made available to WDW Passholders first at the Passholder website,then to WDW Cast Members and finally to the General Public at two websites(disneychannelgames.com and dcgames2008.com).Again,I want to emphasize,that EVERYTHING,at this point is pure guessing and speculation.The "most likely" dates I arrived at,IF DCG 2009 happens,of April 27-May 2 is just an "educated GUESS" based on the pattern for DCG 2007 and DCG 2008.

On the official rules it stated that the trip will be to Orlando, FL and it will be held in the month of April. (Or something along those lines...)
So disney pretty much did send out a "notice" about the games, in some shape or form, to someone...for the dc games to be happening.

Yes,that has been the ONLY indication that I know of since DCG 2008 ended that there would be a DCG 2009.When that contest began I felt absolutely sure DCG 2009 was "a go".As you said,the contest said it was for a trip to DCG 2009 at WDW with travel "anticipated to be in April".But since then,NOTHING! There are now so many negative indicators that the Games "MAY" have been cancelled.If so,I think the sluggish economy is the reason,because Disney has been cancelling different things for that reason.I think the biggest thing that concerns me is the,to my knowledge,omission of DCG 2009 from being mentioned and promoted during the Disney Channel's Totally New Year programming.All the other new programming for 2009(Hatching Pete,Dadnapped,Princess Protection Program,Sonny with a Chance,etc.) was heavily promoted during the Totally New Year programming.DCG 2008 WAS promoted during the Disney Channel's Happy U Year programming which promoted new programming for 2008.There just isn't any information,pro or con,out there at this time and it appears it may be that way for quite a while.

Disney does not sell tickets to the Disney channel games or the concert, as far as I know. I know that the economy must have an impact on the overall revenue that Disney is making, but I still feel like part of the reason, if they are cancelled, is due to the total disregard that the public had for rules at the games last year. There was the fact that cameras and camera phones were being used when the rules clearly stated that they were not allowed. There was the incident of teens breaking through the barricade that led to the secured areas. The mob was at times uncontrollable when a Jonas would walk by. So I'm thinking that maybe not cancelled, just not open to anyone and everyone who would like to go and watch as in the past.

EVERYTHING is just GUESSES and SPECULATION at this point,because there just isn't any information available. Disney has had many cutbacks in the Parks and in other divisions because of the economic downturn,so IF the Games have been cancelled,that would be one POSSIBLE reason.Crowd security issues is another viable POSSIBLE reason.DCG 2008 Concert tickets(free) were not made available until March 19(to Passholders) last year,BUT information WAS available about DCG 2008 long before then,with it being promototed during the New Year's 2008 programming on Disney Channel(Totally U Year) and with the ACTUAL DATES being announced by Hal Boedeker on January 6.This year,there has been NOTHING,to my knowledge,mentioned about DCG 2009 since the Disney Channel Training with the Stars Sweepstakes last August,so that is why there is some concern.Hopefully there is no reason for concern and DCG 2009 has always been going to happen,but with no information,we are left to GUESS and SPECULATE.

The more positive thoughts the better! I don't think ANYONE is hoping or trying to prove that the Games won't happen.It is just that we had DEFINITE information at this time last year and the fact that we don't this year is a cause for some concern.The "Let's wait and see" mode is a GREAT approach for LOCAL Floridians. However,for those of us who plan a Walt Disney World Vacation around the Disney Chanel Games,we don't have that luxury. Resorts have to be booked,air travel has to be purchased,Vacation requests have to be turned in at work and all of that is pretty hard to do if you don't know when your Vacation is going to be!LOLFor instance the 4/3 Package has to be booked by next Saturday.That is the main reason for all of the guessing and speculation-planning will become more and more difficult the longer we don't know when/if the Games are going to take place.

Since the two DCG 2009 contests from last Summer are really the only sources of DCG 2009 information we have at this point,I went back and read the Contest information for both.For anyone who hasn't read the information,the Training with the Stars Sweepstakes lists the timeframe as "anticipated to be in April" while the Verizon DCG 2009 contest lists the timeframe as "sponsor-selected Dates in April-May".

Wow thanks wed for the news. Where did you hear this?
I'm almost positive that the games will happen this year. If a good portion of all the disney stars are in the DCgames, then you would think that the production for their shows/tours and such will be worked around the dcgames. Atleast you would think that they would. You know what I mean? So lets just keep our hopes high, and hopefully theyll release info sooner than march.
