Hi - I'm from NH and new to the boards; well, new to posting but have been reading for a couple of months now. Haven't really had anything to share before as this whole DCG experience was new to us this year. We have learned alot from what you've all shared... THANK YOU, you're all so sweet!

My DDs (12 & 14) have enjoyed hearing your stories/experiences '08 as well. We had our trip planned then learned that the taping of the games was the same week and somehow managed to find your boards for more info on exactly what to expect. I have to say, it was our BEST trip to WDW yet... awesome weather, but mostly because of the opportunity to see and meet all the awesome disney channel stars. While my DD(12) was pretty shy and wanted no part of autograph seeking, DD(14) was THRILLED and is still on HIGH about the whole experience. She had the time of her life, and was not one of the screaming/pushy teens (i've heard described on these boards, and witnessed a bit of) but she was lucky enough to get 17 autographs! Funny thing, when I suggested she buy herself a Disney autograph book at one of the parks on Sunday when we arrived, she said after purchasing, "I hope this wasn't a waste of my $""!! LOL We were at WWOS the first day (Monday), and it was a long morning, but thrilling watching the stars come off the bus (from a distance) and wave over to us as they walked the field. We understood ahead of time not to expect too much and therefore not be disappointed if the stars couldn't actually "come over". After like 5 hours it seemed she would get only 4 international stars, "Arwin" (from suite life), and Chris Massey (whom were both in the upper back section for a moment). But it was a FUN day! DD in HEAVEN just to be in the same place as the Jonas Brothers... and wave to them as they passed by to get their lunch. We assumed they were filming and busy with scheduled stuff. And, ironically, the bruise she got below her ribs from being pushed into the fence she got when Arwin came over to sign autographs (and she wasn't able to even get his at that moment)! lol I have to add that the teens near her were so nice... helping her get autographs by passing her book over when she couldn't quite squeeze to the front at one point. And, I happened to be standing near a mother of a younger girl (maybe 5 or 6 years old) who didn't seem all that interested herself, well, the mother pushes her DD up front passing her to one of the teens saying "get her up front, hold her, she can't get in there"... well, this I have to say, I found quite rude... Was she standing there at the fence for like 4-5 hours like the other kids? NOPE, just pushed her way down at the last moment and expected to be first. I wonder if maybe she was a poster talking about the "rude teens"? Anyways, we returned on Tuesday afternoon and it was a totally different story. There were many stars walking close by and signing and talking with the fans. Cole Sprouse was sweet and Dylan too, very animated and playful and down to earth, teased my daughter about her mini-Sharpie marker and told her that he might keep it. And Jason Dolly so nice, Cheetah Girls high-energy but nice and signing for the kids, and Mitchell Musso went out of his way, and Jason Earles. As well as the Wizards kids (Selena, David), wow... and OMG... JB... all three at once walked up to the fence (with their bodyguard of course, lol, he seemed to never leave their sides)... there was a mad crush of kids at the fence then, understandably, (well, they are pretty cute and such nice boys)... and I said a prayer, something like "please, please let her get just one JB autograph"... well, she peeled herself out of the crush after they passed by and I asked her "did you get any?"... and she says (all emotional) "I got ALL 3!!""

I thought she was going to pass out (I nearly did in excitement for her!) and she bursts into tears. Then she says she thinks she threw up in her mouth (lol)... thank goodness she didn't on JB, that would have been one unexpected fan reaction! It was so much fun watching DD take it all in... seeing and meeting the stars she watches every day on DC. I was 'verklempt'. The only thing that would have made it better, i think, was if we were allowed to take photos. Not of the games, but of meeting the stars. It would have been a nice keepsake. It was great to be able to go to the motorcar parade at DHS and take pictures of that, and because of what you shared on this board was the only reason we even knew about it happening. I asked at the info building the morning we entered DHS about it, as it wasn't posted anywhere, and they confirmed it and looked surprised that we knew. lol Funny, the Sprouse twins were also scheduled to be there, as I asked a DC person we were standing next to who was in the parade, as DD wanted to be sure JB were there as rumored, and she showed me her list of the DC stars on which they were listed. Anyways... didn't mean to ramble on, know this is turning out to be an extremely long post... but I wanted to let you know that I loved your idea of a fan fest, until the talk turned to annual pass holders and such. My family considered it a privilege to be able to watch the taping of the games this year, and it was especially nice to have the opportunity to meet and get autographs of some of the stars as a momento of the day. I'm sure you mean well by thinking that it could be a money maker for charity, but this, in my opinion, would limit the time spent by the stars with all their fans. Did you mean you would want the whole taping of the games to only be open to FL residents, or passholders as a perk? Please don't take this the wrong way, but because you are lucky enough to have the advantage of proximity to Disney, as families like mine can only travel there occasionally, should not determine who can enjoy the games or try to get an autograph. We are all fans. Kids from every state. And it would be equally disappointing if we were able to go to the games only to find out the autographs were limited to a lucky chosen few. I think it would be a difficult situation for the stars too, not to be able to come over randomly and visit with ALL the kids. I cannot picture them thinking "sorry, can't sign anything for you as you aren't wearing a bracelet or such". Your idea is a good one, basically- to have an easier, more organized way for the kids to actually meet the stars (autographs/pics included) without all the chasing and standing around for hours on end... but please don't request something that would exclude so many fans. Thanks for your time in reading this. We look forward to DCG'09 and sharing things we've now experienced with next years newbies!
p.s. special thanks to SarahV17 and her JB insight and wonderful sense of humor.
