Digg Del.icio.us Facebook Fark Google Newsvine Reddit Yahoo Print Reprints Post comment Text size: She may be under fire for her Vanity Fair and Internet photos, but Miley Cyrus will still be center stage Saturday at the 2008 Disney Channel Games, People magazine reports.

The Disney Channel stands by their "Hannah Montana" superstar, confirming that she will perform at the concert wrapping the weeklong charity event held at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

The controversy hasn't slowed down Cyrus' packed work schedule. In addition to the concert - which airs in July and also features the Jonas Brothers, the Cheetah Girls, Demi Lovato and Jordan Pruitt - Cyrus will begin filming the "Hannah Montana" movie next week in Nashville. Her new album is slated for a July release.

Just getting home from the concert...talk about a blast. My girls had a very good time. I am glad we ended up in the seats rather than on the field...it was CRAZY down there!
At one point, they actually had to stop the show and point out the policemen who were going to shut down production because they had already pulled 30 girls out of the audience who could not handle the heat/pushing forward/etc. They continously had to ask the fans to take steps backwards to give more room to those at the gate near the front of the stage.
In all, I thought it was a great show. Great songs, lots of fan participation etc. One thing that stood out is after Miley sang her songs, she pointed out that she saw a sign someone in the audience was holding that said "we are praying for you Miley" and she thanked her for that and thanked everyone for their support of her so.
Not many if any cameras, so they really were strict on that. Lots of camera phones were out taking pics tho.
I do have to say Jo Bros fans are LOUD...or perhaps I am just getting old hehe. I got all I needed though, and that was to see my girls dancing, singing the words to the songs and smiling! :)
Sorry my report was choppy and a bit vague. I am not sure how much is supposed to be said. Just thought I would give those who were wondering about the show a sneak peak :)

First of all I just want to say "Thank you, thank you, and thank you!" to all on this board.

I have to say I thought Dylan was the best of all the stars yesterday. When the green team was not competing at around lunch time, and it was hot in the sun, he did stay out signing for over 30 minutes. No on else was even out. Also Jennifer Stone was a top notch star! The crew was getting ready to get heavy equipment to remove stuff from the field and the stars were asked to leave due to danger. Jennifer asked one of the Disney people if she could go into the stands to sign more autographs for the fans and she stayed after we left which was between 7 and 7:30.

I asked my dd8 if she ever got bored during the day, and she said no. It's just fun to see the stars walking around in the field. Also she said her favorite thing to see was when I think Moises lost his shoe and Jake T. Austin ran off with it. She was with her brother when this happened , so I am not sure what she's talking about. And I don't think that she was including when Dylan signed her poster and said he was going to register it (put the R with a circle around it) because it was so good and the hug he gave her.

DD15 was disappointed because Joe did not come by to sign at the end of the day, Kevin and Nick did, but they were rushed off quickly and security said "you can only get one thing signed" but Nick did not get to sign anything for her.

At the end we got, David Henrie, Mitchel Musso, Chelsea Staub, Mark Musso. Can't remember anyone else. My ds was disappointed not to get Selena's.

There was a much bigger crowd than when we picked up our tickets on Tues. and the teenagers were more aggressive. One other thing that kind of bothered me was that there were a few pre-school boys that really did not care about being there and their moms let them run and play chase on the lawn area to the point of trampling posters that my dd15 had spent numerous hours on and had signed by the JoBros at another venue, (but she takes them to all the concerts, where Kevin has pointed to them on a couple of occasions). One of the boys almost fell on my son, who was lying down on a blanket and several times ran into other people. I just felt that the moms should have tag teamed to take the boys to a place where they could've run freely without the possibility of someone getting hurt.

But all in all,We had a GREAT day! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Looking forward to Saturday.:rockband:

i must have been close to you because i know what little running boys you are talking about. if they are the same ones i am talking about, well their dad was next to me..and let me tell you the boys had no interest being there it was their dad that was into it.

i was also disappointed that joe didn't come by. even though i didn't get nick or kevin to sign anything either. like you said, in our section they extremely rushed them off too fast! i was so :( so so sad about that. i did get joe's autograph on wednesday but still people were so not nice on thursday. and by people i mean the girl that didn't even care about the jonas brothers that was in front of me that stuck her hand out further than my hand with their cd for them to sign. so nick signed her paper then was rushed off and the girl 1) already had his autograph and saw that i was a fan because i brought their cd for them to sign. 2)wasn't a fan 3)ended up giving the autograph to someone else because she didn't really want it!!!! how nice right? right! ahhh!!! and then i was more sad to see that they got to take their time a little more once they were towards the center of the stadium.. waaa!! oh well ........ i am just telling the sad part of my story.

the nice part is how many autographs i had and WHAT A BLAST WEDNESDAY WAS!!! i have so many pics, the parade was awesome. we saw so many stars throughout the day. oh such a long story!! but i will say about the dc games that dylan sprouse was so awesome!!! he did stay forever FOREVER signing autographs. it was the cutest thing ever. i'll tell more of my story later on. i want to hear more about the concert and i want to know if this guy we left something with was able to leave our gift to the jonas brothers. which we could have done on our own if my sister and i hadn't frozen when we saw big rob even though we had talked to him the night before and taken pictures with him. anywho! it was the best two days of my life

We got right behind the VIP viewing area so got 4 autographs but can't remember who all at this moment. I kept trying to get Selena Gomez's attention but she was in and out of the area so fast if they didn't need her for taping...LOL; Along with all the other stars!!

It was great seeing Miley perform and of course the Jonas Brothers but the Cheetah Girls did great too plus Demi Lovato ROCKED!! and Jordan Pruitt (my kids were like who is that). My head was still hurting this morning when I got up but I am all good now. My DS's had a good time and that's all that matters too me. I am glad we were on the field for autographs but will be doing seats in the 100 section next year if we go again (I will trade for them if I have too). Security came by several times before taping started and said they really didn't want any children against the barrier and if they were a parent needed to be with them to stop them from getting hurt - we had girls who kept squeezing in and I just told them to back off.

Here's my report on the concert last night:
We went to DHS around noon and took the disney bus over to WWoS around 5:45pm. Got there and lined up for our seat section and it was fun seeing the stars come around the balcony of the stadium and the girls going crazy... I must say Cody Linley is the cutest thing :rolleyes1 , got in aroun 7:15pm and went straight for FOOD, we were very hungry and then went to our seats, got a bad view because we were right behind the camera and sound equipment, but it wasn't that bad because they had the big screens. I must say I enjoyed Miley's performance very much and she did seem touched by the sign of "we're praying for you", Brian kept everything light and funny even when asking the people to move back. I did see paramedics treating dozens off girls, thank god we got seats. Cheetah girls were good too and the new girl (something Pruitt) but I have to disagree with the previous poster about Demi, she looked a bit intoxicated and all over the place in my opinion, and she totally killed (in a bad way) the Enchanted song. The Jonas bro's were great... All in all I think I enjoyed getting the autographs better than the actual concert. My kids said that they had fun the 2 days. Can't wait to see the games during the summer.
Well over and out from this topic for me...
On to Star wars weekends :dance3: :cool1: :thumbsup2

They filmed the closing cerimonies! It was very interesting... The cops made people move back..back..and back...Cheetah Girls-Great,Miley-Awesome,Jordin-Good,Demi,Awesome,and JB-Awesome!!! SORRY IT WAS A VERY BRIEF RECAP...I WOULD POST PICS..BUT NONE WERE ALOUD TO BE TAKEN..

We had a great time, too...well, most of my group did. lol I was a bit bummed by quite a few things during the day/evening on Disney's part, but hey, we learned our lesson for next year. As far as everyone was told and the literature we were given with our tickets, the parking lot wasn't supposed to open until 4:00 PM for concert-goers. Evidently they started giving bracelets out at 4:00 AM Saturday morning. I stood with some parents and their teens and the Dad is a CM. He said he was told by a fellow employee about the 4:00 AM time but nobody could confirm it for him and actually told him it wasn't true. He wasn't too happy when he got there and realized it WAS true.:headache:

When they started moving the groups up and into the stadium/through the gates, I hated that they made us (the BLUE group) stand in the full sun for hours when we could have moved up into the next area in the full shade. lol No one in the group would spread out like the CM's asked us to so I had to stand the entire time...ouch! lol

Inside was surprising when I realized we were going to be pretty close on the field. We were probably only about 10 people back from the stage but we left WAAAYYYYY before the show even started. The teens were manageable because they knew I meant business while trying to protect the girls with me - it was the MOMS that were itching for a beat down. They were unreal and VERY pushy. One had two small girls with her and was allowing them to crawl around and try to squeeze through while her older tweens tried to push through - and her urging, "Make your move now!" The look I gave her shot that down real quick though. My BFF didn't last long with her daughter on the field and left pretty quick, they were both overwhelmed. My cousin and I took our girls out a bit later. It was more than we could handle and absolutely crazyness.

We ended up to the left of the stage near the railing and under the berm area (which is where I would have LOVED to sit, but they wouldn't let us). The girls were able to see quite a bit of stars that were behind the stage and that came up to the railing. We got one autograph - Chelsea - she was very sweet and was the only one that spent quite a bit of time over there signing. Well, there was one other guy, Christopher-something, but I don't know who he was and neither to my daughter.

We thoroughly enjoyed the performers and really like Jordan Pruitt. Demi I could take or leave, but ALL of the others were fantastic. They were all very gracious and genuine I think. I look forward to seeing all of their careers blossom.

My BFF and her daughter would never go back to anything like last night, they didn't enjoy it at all. My cousin and I can't wait until the next experience rolls around - it's something new to learn about, that's for sure!! I just hope Disney continues to perfect the way they squeeze everyone in - there has to be a better way so all guests - every size and age - have an equal opportunity to be a part of the event.

I obviously didn't learn anything from last year. Needless to say, I have a sunburn that kills from waiting in like for 14 hours.

We woke up at 1 to go get in line for the concert, yes 1 AM.

Long story short, my friends and I were escorted out by security, and told to come back at 6AM by Karen something or another who is like head of security or something.

We come at 6 AM exactly, the whole red section is filled...so someone lied to us. Red people said they were getting their wristbands at 4:30-5. So we were a little ticked. We were however the first people in the second section! Go PURPLE!

Red was very aggressive and always arguing about spots, but purple section was very mellow, I made friends with a ton of people. Until the end everything was fine, then right before we were about the be let in, two girls cut the "line" and everyone was throwing a fit, since most of us were there since 6!

Right before we were let in, I found out that I had been hanging out with emilyjonas from this board practically all day. She's awesome!

We got onto the field though, and were like 3 rows back. But 15 minutes after I got out there, I couldn't take it, so I started making my way out, and my vision went all black so I probably stepped on/fell into a lot of people.

I found that it was much more fun in the back with open space. Being able to breathe was a big plus! Also, you could dance like a crazy person.

Overall, I enjoyed the concert, until the end when my friends were getting a little irritated from the long day and blaming their bad time on me and blah blah blah.

But, I'm glad I went...next year though, SEATS...definitely! Haha.

Oh and the games on Thursday were RIDICULOUS!

People were very aggressive, so I spent most of my time on the second floor, and there's a window that looks out over where the stars went for lunch, so I got to wave to all of them. Their was this little like 8 year old who nearly knocked me out of my spot in the window when Nick was walking by just to say "I Love you Nick!" which he didn't even notice.

I had this present I made for the JB and I couldn't get close enough to give it to them, but Frankie and Nick saw it from far away. And Mr. and Mrs. Jonas were talking about how awesome it looked, but they were below me and I wasn't about to toss a piece of wood at them. They we're really nice though.

I didn't get to meet/get autographs from any BIG stars. But we did meet/see some very HOT international stars. Benjamin from Germany, Danny from Argentina, and Carla Flower from Mexico. Ok, her name isn't Carla flower, but she signs her name Carla and then draws a flower, and since we couldn't figure out her last name, we call her Carla Flower. Apparently, though, there isn't a Carla in the games, but there is a Clara. I don't know.

She was awesome though. We talked to her for a while about how she did the spanish versions of songs for Camp Rock, and she talked about her shows in Mexico and everything. Very nice.

One thing that irritated me to NO end, we're all the girls (three in particular) who were befriending Mark Musso JUST so he would get them in to meet the Jonas Brothers. He didn't seem to mind being used, and the girls never got to meet JB, but I thought it was ridiculous how girls latched on to anyone and everyone with an All Access Pass just to see JONAS. Ridiculous.

Anyways, I'm done ranting about that. Talk to you later.
