Disney...by Land and Sea...Morris Style!

Oh my Gosh!!!!!!!!!!! I would be soooo ANGRY!!!!!!!!! Your van is brand new!!!!!!!! That should be a warranty thing...

I am glad you got it fixed for the time being, and smart girl to put the allen wrench in the glove box.

Now, the BIG question... Do you have your ID packed?

D~

LOL!

My daughter came over last night and brought Miss Mia to see us before we left...She grabbed my purse and asked me where my ID was... I played innocent and asked .."What ID?" Everyone had a good laugh...

However, as she was leaving she asked if I was going to remember to take it...I reminded her that as long as Dad took his we would be fine...because they never really ask for anyone else's ID...just the lead guest..

So before I get on to new trip news (yes I know we leave in 19 hours and yet, there have been some changes...) I have to brag a bit on Miss Mia. She is 9 months old and refuses to roll over. And since she hates tummy time (actually screams like someone is Killing her) she is not crawling. Her pediatrician was a bit concerned at her appointment last week. They checked all her muscles and her legs and hips are fine and said she is ready to actually start walking...and decided she was probably going to be one of those babies that never actually crawl but go straight to walking.

Last night her daddy was on one end of the sofa and I was on the other. She kept CRAWLING back and forth to us. She wanted the remote to the tv...and we kept passing it back and forth to keep it away from her. She kept it up for a good 15 minutes before she got tired of the game.

And she is talking! Just in the last week or so she has started being so much more vocal...because she loves the remotes so much, they have to keep the remotes hidden. They watch tv through the XBox so they can use voice commands. They are constantly saying "XBox", then pause and say whatever they want it to do... well Miss Mia is now hollering "XBox" at the tv... and then giggles...because the screen is changing from scene to scene and she thinks she is doing it!

She can definitely say DaDa...and MaMa...and has a cute little "MaMa more" wants to nurse...she says "Hi there" when she sees you and "all Done' when she is through with something... last night as she was leaving... her mama said it was time to go home and get a bath...to which Miss Mia replied "Night Night"...and then leaned in to kiss her Grandpa and told him "Night Night"

She calls GrandPa "BaBa" And we finally figured out she is trying to say "Buddy" because her mommy is always telling her they are going to go see her Buddy Grandpa.....

She can also say things like cat and dog...and loves to scream it out when she sees one...

So yes, I am a proud grandma (Memaw)! My baby is talking....and a year from now we should be seeing another one....hopefully. Last night her daddy said he would like to have one in December so it would be another tax deduction... and he was serious! Amanda just smiled and said "we'll see"

OK...trip news!

I discovered yesterday that although the Magic Kingdom hours are 9-11. I never realized that the fireworks start at 8!!! Our dining reservation at Crystal Palace was at 7:45! So I was scrambling all afternoon trying to find something that would work without having to eat at 9...

As I was giving it one final shot...Be Our Guest came up! For 8:35! It was like it was a sign! So I quickly made the change!!!

Now I have no idea how to cancel the FP+ lunch reservation... I will work on that today.

Yes, less than 19 hours until I leave and everything is still not packed! Husband's stuff is still all over the place because he cannot make up his mind what he wants to take. Yesterday I was positive all his clothes were in the dining room, folded, waiting on him to make a decision...but somehow he managed to do three loads of laundry last night! Seriously!?? And his stuff is STILL not in the suitcase! After we get back from church I will be putting everything in the car....and he will have to just suck it up and do his own when he gets home!

He works until 7 tonight and we leave at 3 am!!! Hopefully he will get some sleep tonight...I know he tossed and turned all night last night. He is worse than the kids..he is too excited to sleep!

OMG!!! Little Mia and her "Xbox"... Hahaha... That totally cracked me up this morning. How cute!!! So glad she is talking and ready to walk.

Looking forward to hearing news of a new little Morris grandbaby!

LOL about your DH being more excited than anyone... I wish that someday Josh would be that excited...

I hope everything goes well today - you will be in my thoughts... And I hope when I log into FB in the morning, I see a post that you are eating at Cracker Barrel... With your ID! :)

OK, well I'm glad my typo did not freak you out but it would be interesting to see how Miss Mia dressed you. :rotfl2:

I can't believe she is talking so much. She'll be putting on Mickey Mouse clubhouse via the voice command in no time! I love that her grandpa is her Buddy. :)

I would have freaked out if the gear shift popped off in my hand, glad you were at home and not on an errand. Packing your tools is a good idea, just in case, but I hope you don't need them.

As for your ID, I know you will have it - just make sure you have all the other stuff too. :scared1: We went to Orlando a few years ago to visit Universal and I was bringing an old pair of tickets to WDW that had one day left on them. I had everything for the trip (hotel reservation info, driving directions, tickets) in a folder and the day we left I decided to transfer everything to a file envelope with a clasp so nothing would fall out. Well, go figure the Disney tickets were hiding down in the folder so they never made it on our trip. Luckily my parents were watching the kids and my dad was able to overnight the tickets to the hotel but I was so mad at myself :headache:

Yeah, can't believe you guys are leaving in a few hours for your trip. Looks like the weather will be perfect. I hope you have great time on the trip and safe travels. :woohoo: for getting Be Our Guest for dinner (I don't think you need to cancel the FP+ for lunch).

Hope you are enjoying the warm sunny weather in Florida. I was thinking of you yesterday when school got cancelled for today. I told DH, if we leave now we can be in Florida before the weather hits. I figure school will be cancelled for the rest of the week here (we already have Fri and Mon off for President's Day). Alas, I am home in the kitchen watching actual snow falling.

:wave2:

Quick drive by, as I am waiting for the kids and hubby to finish their drawing lesson. In all our trips to Disney something happened last night for the very first time. We got rained out!

We have had rain before but never a storm while we were in the park. We were very lucky and were able to get the manager to let us in two hours early for Tutto Italia. We got in seconds before the storm hit and managed to eat slow enough that the worst of it had passed us when we left.

We decided not to hang around for the fireworks after all.

Enjoying out last day here in spite of all the tour groups!

We still don't have firm plans for tomorrow. I know we can't get a room in property but since it has turned a bit cool we are not sure we want to stay in Orlando. We might head over to Port Canaveral or head up to Savannah. I guess it all depends on how the weather is and how much ice has melted by the morning

The ideal situation will be for it ALL to be gone by the time we get home!!!

Well, I just spent and hour with a wonderful heartfelt update and the computer decided it needed to do an update again, and I lost it all! I have it set to only do the important updates...evidently it decides what is an up date that is important and what is not. Evidently it also decides when to warn me and when to not warn me... Whatever the update was it took over 20 minutes to do...

So to briefly recap (because everyone is starting to wake up and I need to pack up to leave in a bit) This is our last morning at Disney and we will be going home later today. I have tons of notes from this trip and I will be doing a mini trip report here once I get home. I will also put a bit about it on my travel blog (bet you didn't know I had one did ya!) So I can get back to blogging. I used to blog every day but once I discovered FaceBook I pretty much stopped. If I remember to blog once a year it is amazing...not the blog, but the ability to remember to do it!

From what we were able to see, it looks like the ice should be gone by the time we hit GA....or at least from the main roads.

This trip has had some highs and some lows...I have seen some of the WORST CMs imaginable....and some of the BEST CMs possible. I have done tons of research as to the differences between the moderates (which I normally stay at and absolutely LOVE) and the Value (which I will not rule out for a short trip) We had a pretty good time with our Magic Bands and only a few issues with the DAS. I can see that the CMs are trying (for the most part) to find a way for the DAS to work, but it is not there yet. With every interaction I have concerning the DAS, I again tell them that if the info for the DAS was encoded into the Magic Band it would make things work smoother...

Over all it was a great trip and I am sorry to see it is over,,,

Glad to hear you had a nice trip and am looking forward to your TR. Saw some of your facebook posts and wanted to send a big HUG to you.

Hope you have a safe ride home and I think the roads will be pretty clear by the time you make it to GA. I wonder if the traffic will be crazy since everyone has been house bound for the past few days.

Safe travels.

My daughter posted a video of Miss Mia in the snow...I guess it was yesterday (or maybe the day before) She was sitting in the yard and they were taking pictures when she started saying Dada...so as any new mom would do, she switched to video. All of a sudden Miss Mia decided she wanted to get to her Dada...and started crawling to him! Just like that. She is just as stubborn as her mom and it had to be on HER terms! Of course, she STILL will not roll over! She obviously CAN...just CHOOSES not to!

OK, well I'm glad my typo did not freak you out but it would be interesting to see how Miss Mia dressed you. :rotfl2:

That story sounds so much like something I would do! I am guessing since I start planning so early, I check something off and never go back to make sure it is STILL where it is supposed to be. I am going to start making a check list to go back over some of the things I packed early on...

Hope you are enjoying the warm sunny weather in Florida. I was thinking of you yesterday when school got cancelled for today. I told DH, if we leave now we can be in Florida before the weather hits. Since the kids were already out of school this week, they are feeling cheated! Dami wants to go to school....he said it is no fun going some place for vacation when NO ONE ELSE has to go to school....I think he doesn't have the whole school break idea down yet!

I do have a funny though... Ever since the kids have been back in public school, I have seen on the school's website...TWICE a year...the wording of their intersession as intercession. While it is true that the school system does indeed need some sort of divine intercession...the break is actually an inter SESSION! I send an email every single time ...they send me an apology and correct it...only to have it show up the same way a few months later!!

And these are the people teaching my children....

Left the house at 3 am right on schedule. On Sunday afternoon I managed to have a short nap of an hour or so, and got a few minutes worth of cat naps on the way in.

As normal, we stopped at Cracker Barrel for breakfast right on schedule at 9am. The first hiccup was the fact that in December we had three Cracker Barrel gift cards…two for $25 and one had a small amount on it. Less than $10. We spent a little over $30 for breakfast and they took it out of the gift cards and gave me one unused card back. Well…they actually gave me a card back that had $2.32 and kept the full $25 one…I usually check the amounts of all gift cards before we go… but since this one was still on the card I had no idea (or reason to suspect) it was anything less than the full amount…This was NOT a happy surprise.

We arrived at All Star Sports at 11:30, which is pretty much what we expected. Unfortunately, online check in would not work so I never was able to have the early arrival time noted on the reservation. Our rooms have always been ready early for us, and I did not expect it to be a problem this time. Wrong…our room was not ready…so after check in we left to go to Shades of Green to get our tickets and do a bit of sightseeing. As I was told …I kept calling back every 30 minutes to see if our room was ready. On one of those calls…as she was telling me it was not ready, I got the text telling me it was ready. But when we got back to the gate…the magic band would not work! Considering the problems we had last year we were very wary…

We go to the front desk and get our room assignment and had our Magic Bands reactivated. Evidently…the bands can easily become UNactivated when they change your room… Which makes me wonder what would have happened if we had went to the park first?

When we got to the room I was pleasantly surprised. The over all room was smaller, but not so much as I felt uncomfortable. I admit to being a resort snob. Moderates is the only way I visit Disney! Having claustrophia I need the extra space in a resort room. While the single vanity was a bummer, the extra space in the room with the tub and toilet more than made up for it!

It was easy to see the differences between the Values and Moderates in the small details. Like the linens. Especially the towels. They were definitely a lower quality than I was used to. In fact, I would go so far as to say the towels they used at the moderates for the towel animals was a higher quality than the towels hanging in the bathroom here. I always assumed that all linens at Disney were the same…I know differently now…In fact the trucks delivering the linens actually say All Star on the sides!

I really missed the Mickey Head shower head…and some of the hidden Mickeys we always look for. But the shower was hot and felt great…

I will say I felt the staff was a bit strange…even though our room was ready and we were trying to bring our stuff in…the cleaning staff would not move the large trash bag and linen cart from in front of our door so we could bring out luggage in without going over or around. She gave us a huff and dirty look as she was leaving. And at the front, while I was waiting for the wheelchair to be delivered, one of the valets came over and told me I could not wait there if I did not need help with my luggage.

Next up is our first Park....

Nini

On the agenda for this afternoon is Animal Kingdom. Even though I know we basically only have a few hours here, it is the one park we don’t really need to spend a lot of time in.

Got to park by 3:30 and went to ticket counter to trade in our Military Salute ticket vouchers for the real thing. Quick and painless…except that when I asked about getting the tickets added to our Magic Bands she seemed to panic and quickly said I needed to ask at Guest Services and they would do it for me.. (Which seemed a bit strange, since I knew they could be added once I had the actual tickets in my hand)

Then we went to Guest Services to get Mr D his DAS. My first tip for the trip is to have a copy of your OLD DAS with you when you go to get a new one. They can simply renew the old one without you having ot go through the whole story. Again, quick and painless!

We headed towards the back of the park to get a DAS pass for Expedition Everest. We tried to get some Fast pass+ but there was none really available. I could only get Triceratops Spin and Primeval Whirl…both of which had a current wait time of 5 minutes! So after getting the DAS pass for EE we went over to Dinosaur so the three of them could ride (I cannot ride due to my neck issues), then Mr D had to ride Primeval Whirl twice before back to EE. They grabbed another DAS pass for EE and we headed over to the Safari.

The parade was still going on, so we had to go through all the back ways to get to the safari. We were actually moving faster than the parade at times…and some of the performers were joking with us about the good time we were making!

After we finally got through and into the ride…well…there was NO ONE there! To say it was a walk on would be putting it mildly! I mean the first thing I saw was a vehicle leaving completely EMPTY!! (that will play in very important in a minute)

After boarding, I felt the driver was less than enthusiastic…but I was determined to enjoy this as it was my only time I would be able to ride this trip. When he took a short cut through the first animals…I was starting to get a little upset. Until….we got to the giraffes.

Remember that empty vehicle I told you about? It seems that vehicle wasn’t exactly empty, it just had no people passengers…it was loaded with FOOD!! The giraffes came right up to the vehicle and stuck their heads in. We got some really up close and personal views. She stayed there about 5 or 10 minutes before she started leaving. When our vehicle came up to them, they did not stick their heads in, but gave ups great views on both sides of the vehicle. The baby was so cute! We very slowly crept along with the giraffes walking beside us…less than 3 feet away. We were cautioned to keep our hands inside since they had been known to nip a bit when expecting food.

We spent a good 20 minutes with the giraffes…then on to the zebras. Where we got a repeat performance of the giraffes! Truly spectacular! The absolute greatest Safari experience EVER! It lasted over an hour!

(I know I need to add a couple of pictures here…but I need to recharge my camera’s battery and download them)

We waited just outside of Tusker House while Mr D and Dad went back to EE for another ride on the DAS. When they came back we were told they got to ride twice! Mr D was happy beyond belief. Being able to do this is something that not having the GAC took away from him. The CMs there went above and beyond for him on that day!

We were an hour early for our ADR at Tusker House, but we were all exhausted. So I took a chance that they would let us in early and it paid off. This was our first trip to Tusker House and we were not disappointed. We LOVE Boma and found it to be just a scaled down version of our old favorite. My only complaint would be the noise level. It was really LOUD and hardly anyone there! I can only imagine how loud it would be if it were full!

Walking out of Tusker House after the park closed … with no one around, was surreal. I can not wait to do this again.
Over all low crowds and great weather made for a fantastic short visit. We did not get a lot done, but we did get everything we wanted to do!

We then went back to the room and zonked out. I seriously do not remember even going to bed. Of course at this point I had been up for 36 hours with just a few naps.

What is up tomorrow?

Yay! I've been so excited to hear about this!

The hiccup with your MBs is a bummer - but at least it's much better than last time!

I liked your review on the rooms... So, would you stay there again?

Your AK day sounds perfect! And how awesome about the safari... No wonder the animals are not afraid of the trucks! Cool! The baby giraffes are so cute!

Yay for the pixie dust for Mr. D at EE... After all the hassle on your last trips - you guys certainly deserve some great Pixie Dust!

I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed TH - as you know, it's a must do for us. I agree, it is a bit loud in there, but it doesn't really bother me at breakfast time (the only time we really go) - the way the sun shines through the windows and the noise level, it's just a really energetic atmosphere to start off an exciting day. :thumbsup2

I can't wait to hear about the rest of it!

Glad to hear you had a nice trip and am looking forward to your TR. Saw some of your facebook posts and wanted to send a big HUG to you.

Sorry...I missed this one yesterday...

The roads were completely clear! When we got into Walton County was the first time we saw any actual accumulation in yards on buildings etc...In Jasper County we saw lots of evidence of trees being down. But oh my goodness...I was NOT prepared for what I saw at home! My son had sent me a picture that showed my front stoop completely covered. But I expected it all to be gone when we got home...

I have two steps up to my porch and then it is a little alcove like area where the doorway is. I absolutely HATE this style of house...and wish they had just made the house straight across on the front instead of this dark zone...anyway..it had at least 18 inches of solid ice! Husband's first comment was how was Shawn getting in the house to take care of the dogs...until you got closer and saw the foot prints barely there on top.

I wanted to get a picture before husband and Mr D started shoveling it...but they were too fast. The most treacherous part of the trip was getting into the house. There was still enough ice around to let us know we are VERY glad we missed it!

I would definitely stay there again...as long as it was a quick trip. We like to go for 10 - 14 days. That requires way too much luggage for us to stay there...but for a short trip I would do it again. Husband did not share my opinion of the resort as a whole.

I will have to say...there was a cheer leading meet going on. With 3 or 4 girls to a room......well, I can not see even two teens being able to share that bathroom! The small vanity really made it hard. There was no room to put anything there...and the one thing I forgot to mention...NO COFFEE POT! Since we always bring our own it was not a major issIt suddenly would not recognize anything...ue... but there was really no room for it. We had to keep getting it out and putting it up after each cup. (It is a single serving Keurig)

I also forgot to put on Monday's report about the other little MB blip. While we were waiting for the boys to get off EE, I added our military tickets to our MBs. It went very smoothly...until I tried to make our FP+ for the next three days. It suddenly would not recognize anything. I finally was able to grab the ones we wanted (sort of, there wasn't a ton of availability this late in the game) but I could not change the times. If I tried to do anything other than the four choices it gave me it errored out.

So...I went to guest services to make sure they were all there...before we left Animal Kingdom....just in case!

We arrived just moments before Rope Drop. The opening ceremony concluded just as we got through baggage check with a bit of fireworks. The park was open tonight until 11, and we had a Be Our Guest dinner reservation at 8:35 so we knew it was going to be a long day.

A note about baggage check…please be considerate of the people behind you. Have your bag OFF your neck and open so the screeners can look in…If your bag is large, put your stuff in plastic bags. It makes it much easier to glance and go! Believe me …NO ONE wants to see how many pairs of sexy underwear you packed in you park bag and NO ONE wants to know why! Some things should remain private….

We went straight through the Castle towards Fantasyland. We normally have to go around the castle. I can not remember how long it has been since we got to go through the castle. That is the main difference between going during party season and during regular times.

Our first stop was Pooh! We love this ride and there was a zero wait time. By the time we got off the wait was up to 20 minutes! After Pooh we went to Peter Pan. The wait was 20 minutes here as well, but we knew it would be much longer in a few minutes. They sent us through the wheel chair entrance which made our wait about 15 minutes.

We then headed over to Ariel and Dumbo, which had minimal waits as well. In fact they were both walk on. From Dumbo we were able to see over the walls to the Mine Train. It is getting so close to done! I can hardly wait for our October trip!
It was now 9:45 and our first FP+ was at Big Thunder at 10:30. So we decided to take a trip on the train. We realized we haven’t ridden it since they closed it down for the Fantasyland expansion…so it was time! Mr D fell asleep on the train, so he continued his nap while we sat for a while in Frontierland waiting for our FP+ time. Once he woke up refreshed and raring to go….off they went ot one of their favorite rides! While the rest of the family rode BTMRR I found a nice sunny spot to sit and enjoy my favorite sport of people watching.
On that note, perhaps this is a good time to interject my thoughts on how people dress for parks. Some people dress for fashion, no matter how uncomfortable. Some people dress for comfort, no matter how bad it looks. And others…well, let’s just say they dress without benefit of a mirror. Some body types should be more cognizant of how a particular outfit looks on them. More than one large chested woman will get home and cringe at the pictures! Designs from a shirt prominent displayed in an unattractive manner…cut in half by a cross body bag. And blinging Mickey’s ears is not a problem and looks cute…just be watchful as to where those bling pieces actually fall on the body…and please leave the spiked heels at home!
Once the family rejoined me we headed to Pirates of the Caribbean. Again it was a walk on ride. By this time we decided we should grab a bite to eat and headed to Cosmic Rays. Even though we keep saying we are going to try different places, we always keep coming back to here. It has a wide variety to please everyone and it has mostly inside seating. At first we thought it might be closed. There were construction walls all around. Nope, the side that is closest to the castle is undergoing a large refurb…actually they are enclosing more of the outside dining areas to become inside dining areas.

This has always been one of my favorite places to sit and watch the castle lighting.

From here Mr D and Dad rode Stitch. For some unknown reason Mr D claims this as his favorite ride! At least that is always the reasoning he gives for wanting to ride it! LOL! Afterwards it was time for our second FP+, Buzz Lightyear! Yes, we are a competitive family and we always try to outdo the other. Dad always wins and Mr D always comes in 4th…Miss B and I trade off the other two spots. I think we should handicap dad since he was a trained sharpshooter in the army…and he shoots guns in his everyday life as well… but he disagrees! (I need a smiley with their tongue sticking out here!)
After this ride we headed over to Carousel of Progress. While it is no one’s favorite ride, we all enjoy it and it was starting to get HOT. Unfortunately, they made us sit on the first row. Let me just say…vertigo and first row on this ride do NOT mix! LOL..

At this time it was time for our third and last FP+…Space Mountain. (1:55) This is truly one of Mr D’s favorite. From the time he was finally tall enough to ride he has begged to go on it all the time. It is one of those rides he would never get off if they gave him the chance. Since we had decided we had rode everything we had on our MUST HAVE list we felt it was a good time to head back to the room for a couple hours to swim. Dad grabbed a DAS pass for Space Mtn. The time marked on it was 2:45.

We then headed back to the room for the boys to swim. I needed a nap and Miss B was fighting a sinus cold (how on Earth does she allow herself to get sick as we leave for Disney!!!)

This seems like a good place to end this part of the report. The next report will have some of the GREATEST times of the trip as well as one of the WORST time of the trip…stay tuned!

Nini

The guys had a very successful swim and made some new friends. Miss B and I had a very good two hour long nap! The boys came back, I had a cup of coffee and we got ready to head back to Magic Kingdom. By the time we made it back to the park and got inside it was dark. We had a pass for Space Mtn that we decided to hold off using until after dinner. We still had a couple hours until dinner, and walking around the park at night is always a favorite of mine. We headed to Pooh and it only had a 15 minute wait, and with the wheelchair it was about 10. As we were walking away…we saw a mine car traveling on the mine train! We waited about 15 minutes but it never came back. We were on the side of Pooh…and you could just barely see the opening it went into …. So as it was getting close to time to find a spot for the 8 pm fireworks… we headed towards Be Our Guest… our ADR was at 8:35 and we knew we should check in a bit early. We decided this would be a great place to watch the fireworks and we would be close to where we needed to check in.

The walls were removed from around the mine train in this area. Surprise! The mine car was moving again…this time it had passengers! There was NO WAY you were getting me to move from this spot! The problem, I soon discovered, was that train is QUIET! It is really hard to get a picture with it moving, because it also moves a bit fast. So I stayed right there trying to get a picture of the mine car moving. Then the fireworks started. I never really realized how far behind the castle most of the fireworks truly were. I had a great view of the Beast’s Castle with fireworks! Probably the best place to watch them! Soon it was time to go in for dinner…and still no picture of the mine trains!

Dinner was as always perfect! We sat right next to the windows and got to see the snow falling behind them. All too soon it was over.

Back out front to attempt another picture…this time I had success! They were a bit blurry, but I did manage to get them. By this time we decided to go over and try for Space Mountain with our DAS pass. I found a spot to sit and the family went in. A few minutes later I got a text from Miss B. They would not let them use the DAS pass??!!!??? Seems the CM said it expired at 3:45…being a tad bit over protective of my kids I headed to the FP return line and confronted the CM. She decided to show me she was boss and argued with me about it. She said the DAS is only good for one hour from time that is written on it. Not true! She was actually yelling at me…telling me that I had a feeling of entitlement that I did not have and to get over it! I asked for a manager.

Even after the other CM standing there said I was right, the original CM refused to back down. She then said it didn’t really matter because they were already on the ride by now…um..YES it did matter! The second CM had to MAKE her get her manager. After waiting a while, and no manager, I sent a text to my family and said I was dealing with a problem and to go to the bench where they left me and I would return soon.

A good 15 minutes later, when no manager showed up…a different manager walked up. He was over the Tomorrowland area not just a ride. The second CM told him what was going on and he spoke briefly with the first CM (who then disappeared into the building) and then came over to talk with me. I never did see that first CM again…

After a good thirty minute discussion on the pros and cons of the DAS vs the GAC he called HIS manager to come over and join the conversation. We had another 20 minute or so conversation. My stand is that after 5 months you would think there was enough training on the use of the DAS for the CMs. Their excuse was she was new…I’m sorry I don’t buy that. New or not, if the training had been adequate, this would not have happened. Had I known that during the interaction with my family that she had accused them of trying to get over the system I would not have let the whole thing die as easily as I did!

After I met back up with my family, we decided it was time to head out. While Mr D did not have a melt down waiting on SM…it did have the exact effect I expected…he was no longer cooperative and refused to do anything else. He and Dad were going to ride Stitch again while they were waiting on me, but Mr D had gotten a bit wild and uncontrollable so they couldn’t ride.

Now the worst thing this evening has yet to happen… I will make that part 3

I promise...last one...

Coming back to the room from Magic Kingdom, I made my husband turn around and head to the fire station. I thought I was having a heart attack. By the time we got there I was feeling a ton better, but still in pain. I have experienced chest pain before, but it has never been bad enough to go to the hospital and I go to the doctor and they say everything is normal, and give some reason why it is happening....and I forget about it.

That night the pain was worse than having a baby. Started in the center of my chest with extreme pain and pressure. In quick succession I had pain and pressure starting from my shoulder and neck all the way down to my stomach. I broke out in a sweat, and although I was able to talk, felt like I could not get the air to go in my lungs when I breathed in (but it was obviously going there since I could talk.) It lasted a good 10 minutes before it almost suddenly stopped, but I had extreme tiredness and felt like my chest muscles were on fire (kind of like I expect it would feel if I had tried to lift heavy weights for the first time.) The pain was primarily right sided.

I came home, drank something and changed into my jammies to go to bed.

During the night I got up three times with similar symptoms, but all much less painful. I didn't want to ruin the vacation...but I was tired and sore enough to know this is not normal, and want to get an idea as to what is going on.

As we were heading back into Magic Kingdom that night I passed by several people waiting on the ferry that were smoking. Not in a smoking zone and it brought on an asthma attack. My asthma attacks resemble coughing fits…that go on and on and on. This one lasted a good 20 minutes. It is possible that the asthma attack brought on the chest pains later in the evening. But whatever, I have a doctor’s appointment on Wednesday. Maybe we can figure out what is going on.

Next up...what ever could be next?

OK - gonna comment in segments...

Bag check is always a huge deal for us - since we all MUST carry bags... The girls know the routine, and we are always quick to split up (if necessary) to make it through the lines as quickly as possible. I agree with you - there are people out there who have no clue what they are doing... but seriously... Undies in MK? Maybe they have IBS or something?

You know that I am beyond elated that you were able to see the mine train moving with passengers on it - those lucky ducks!!! I am soooo anxious to ride this ride - ever since the first mention of it, and it was still a rumor - I wanted to ride it so badly! Cannot wait!

I love using the train for transportation, we do that a lot and it's pretty awesome! I think it's often overlooked as transportation and a lot of people just think of it as a "ride"... I save my feet as much as possible while I am there. :thumbsup2

Yah - and about the cross-body bags... Well, as you know - this is a huge issue for me... I am always carrying one, and I am not small up top either. Personally - I prefer tops that are solids... On our first girls trip, I had many tops that had characers on the front, and I agree - once I got home, I didn't like how I looked in pictures (for more reasons than one) - so on our last girls trip, I stuck with solid tank tops with appliques on the bottom hems, and it really worked out perfectly! Hopefully your burned retinas have recovered by now? LOL

I am glad that you were able to get so much done that morning and ride so many rides! Uh-oh, I hope Miss B isn't getting sick...

Yup - to me there is NOTHING more magical than the parks at night... I just LOVE them!

Ack!!! Back to the Mine Train... I bet your location was perfect, I know exactly where you were sitting... How awesome!

And fireworks with Beast's Castle - I bet that is cool... We always like to watch fireworks from the bridge in Frontierland.... Yah - it's not perfect, but it's not crowded either... Then we can hop right on Splash.

Grrr... That is just so maddening about the SM CM... I agree completely - by now the DAS system should be free flowing and there should not be problems like this (same with MBs)... I am so sad that it wrecked Mr. D's night - it should not have been that way - there was no reason.

Oh no!!! I sure hope it's nothing serious... Do you think it could have been an anxiety attack? I know I've read somewhere that it's been known to happen. Whatever the case - how very scary for you, and I am praying that everything comes back OK. (((Hugs)))

Not only did Miss B get sick, she was vry thoughtful to share it with everyone. Mr D got it on Thursday and I got it on Friday...and Dad has it now. Bri's is still hanging on...Dami's is just about gone and mine is killing me! Dad is the suffer in silence type so I probably won't knowe when his leaves the building.

I was worried about giving it to Miss Mia...but since we all got it from her Mommy and Daddy, her momma was not concerned about us giving it to her so I got to see her last night!

As far as how some people dress...husband thinks some are dressing to impress...meaning they know exactly what part of the anatomy a particular shirt is bringing attention to and do it on purpose...I seriously think while that might be true for some, the majority of them have no clue...

And there was one woman in DHS who was wearing spiked heels that had to be 6 inches tall...and the shoes were a good three or four sizes too big! Her feet were sliding around in there like they were on ice. It made her walk funny and looked scarey.

At least we manage to have discussions on proper dress as a result of what we see in the parks! LOL

D~

My husband's first thought was an anxiety attack. I do have them but nothing like this. But since I woke up three times in the night with the same symptoms I kinda doubt it...I rarely wake up in the night when I take my Lunesta...but three times is a record!

Did I mention that the people riding the mine train were some of the workers? I asked some of the CMs standing around taking notes...suits...how the people that rode got chosen. They said right now they are using a lottery system of all the workers...they only get to ride at night, and it will be a while before they start letting guests be the guinea pigs. I guess by riding at night if something bad happens no one will know...because it is so quiet that people walking by rarely noticed!

Running late today...no new update until maybe this afternoon.

Despite a couple of glitches, it sounds like the trip is going well. I'm enjoying reading what you did.
