Disney...by Land and Sea...Morris Style!

Oh...I forgot...

A quick drive by...I hate my HOA! They have a rule about how from the front of your hose, only white can be seen from the windows...like white blinds or white linings on draperies. My office faces front. I do not have blinds in the window...I have a cute window topper that I dutifully lined in white. According to the words in the charter...it passes... they have decided I need to add a pair of white blinds...which I intend to do any way....BUT I am pretty sure I will get another nasty gram from them...I have a window decal from Disney...it is a Cruise decal...the kind that are sometimes seen on Travel Agent's windows...

Once I put the blinds in...I will be adding that to my window! It will STILL 'pass' the wording on the charter! But they are going to complain long and loud! (I'm a rebel like that!)

Not that I am a proud grand ma or anything like that!

I have so neglected your PTR... I am sorry Nini. I am finding it very hard to venture into everyone's PTRs and join in their excitement, when I don't have a trip on the horizon. I know, it's not a very good excuse...

Mia is adorable - no doubt about it. I can't believe how big she is getting.

How is the grand princess doing?

Glad you were able to get the desk you wanted and all of the furniture moved around. Bummer about the HOA complaining - but stick to your guns... The decal will be cute!

I can not believe I let the DIS do this to me AGAIN!

Thirty minutes of typing and when I pushed the button to post it went away! Argh! Time to get the kids up now!

(and it was a masterpiece...truly Pulitzer worthy!)

13 days left!

Nini

So, now I have absolutely no idea what my Pulitzer prize winning post was about! It must not have been important...

For anyone interested, I leave in 8 days, 21 hours, 50 minutes and 45 seconds.

Today I will finish re-packing everything and locking the luggage down! I have already discovered that Miss B has gone into the bags and gotten all her new underwear out... now to find them all and get them washed again and put back in the bags!

That child! I seriously doubt I will get through her teen age years! That mouth of hers is going to kill me! If I had ever talked back the way she does I would not be here today...and the same goes for my older three...but her? Threats don't scare her one little bit. Last night she told her dad he was being disrespectful to her! All because he told her to be quiet while he was watching the news... after I had told her three times to take the noise to her room... When she was then informed bedtime had come an hour early and he would see her in the morning...she thought he was joking... Sheesh...

Any way... tomorrow I get my hair cut and colored. I won't say how bad it is needed...but just picture this...75% gray and it has grown 6 inches since the last cut and color! I am looking forward to tomorrow almost as much as I am to the trip!

There is a board on FB that I frequent. Mainly because 99% of the people are nice...but there are a few on there.... wow! They have no scruples! I posted yesterday about how I was upset that Miss B's AP history teacher had told them he was assigning a group project over the Fall break. while it was not the end of the world, it was going to put a serious damper in the trip. More than one person suggested I take her to the hospital and have them run a strep test...then ask for a doctor's note from the hospital and she would be excused...SERIOUSLY!

I deleted the post... I can not believe that someone would think that was a good message to send to their teen age kids!

We had our flu shots on Sunday...now we are waiting for them to take effect...roughly 14 days. Of course, now the Grand Princess is sick...the flu... Miss Mia is sick as well as her mommy. So I am thinking I will not be seeing them before we leave...

I have a list a mile long of things to get done in the next 8 days...but I am stalling like I never have before. So if you see me on FB or the DIS...tell me to get my posterior off the computer and back to work!

Today is going to be a lazy day.

Sort of!

My house is a disaster, and we need a major shopping trip...and Miss Mia is bringing her momma and daddy to dinner tonight,

Exactly one week from this second we will have been on the road for an hour and will be just about to hit the interstate! (yes, I am in the Atlanta are where there are probably a million miles of paved interstate...and we avoid them until we are well out of Atlanta!)

I have a notebook with things I need to get done each day...the list of things that is getting carried over from the previous day is getting so long I might need to add pages to each day!

I have discovered that moving my office upstairs has only exacerbated the problem! when the computer/office was in the living room I could hop onto the computer while waiting that last 10 minutes for the laundry to get done...now I don't hear the laundry bell...so I find myself wasting time.

Eventually, having my office away from the family will make me more efficient, I KNOW this, but right now it is hindering me something fierce!

Add to that trying to get all the websites set up and changed with new log on info is the pits! My computer and the Tech support people don't like each other! (If I get told one more time that I should not have bought a new computer I will scream!) MY IT guy can only work for me on the weekends...so he can't talk directly to the tech support people... well you get the idea!

Last night we watched Sound of Music. Loved it again. It was actually the kids first time watching the whole movie. Mr D was a bit bored through parts of it, but Miss Bri was singing the songs at the top of her lungs. She knew the songs but did not realize they came from this movie! With each song she would remark that it was her absolute FAVORITE song from the movie...and then the next song would get the same response.

Of course, my two favorite songs she did not like at all....Climb every mountain...and Aidelviess. (which I understand is spelled wrong!) They are my favorite for sentimental reasons. We did the play in high school. While I was too shy to actually be in the play, I was on the stage crew...and in the chorus. So we had to teach the songs to the cast members. The girl who played Mother Superior was my best friend...and the Captain was her boyfriend. So those were the two songs I was in charge of making sure they knew. During that 3 month period I heard those songs at least a half million times a day! (only slight exaggeration!)

This weekend the packing gets to be serious! There will now be new consequences for even WALKING into the dining room (otherwise known as packing central!) I am still stressing over how to arrange the packing into some workable solution. Every time I think I have it figured out, someone decides they need something and go in to the luggage and mess up my system! There WILL be stiff penalties to pay!

Last night my son and daughter in law took the Grand Princess to see Disney on Ice. It was supposed to be her consolation prize for not getting to go to Disney with us (she STILL doesn't know about her upcoming trip in 3 weeks!)

My daughter in law goes into Atlanta for plays and shows all the time, but this is the first time the Princess has ever gone. They went to dinner in a fancy restaurant, did some sight seeing, saw the show and then
drove through the lights of Atlanta with the top down!

Well, the sun is up, meaning I have been up for over an hour and nothing done to show for it!Each day has seemed o get shorter by HOURS and HOURS!

Had a great family weekend, and today is back to packing and last minute details!

Miss Mia was full of herself on Saturday night, as usual! I have GOT to get some toys for her to play with at my house. For some reason her momma doesn't seem to be able to remember to bring anything with them! She was playing t=with the characters from the Disney Infiniti set...trying to get the characters from Cars...well, trying to get them to roll!

On Sunday she was in rare form for church services! She had her baby doll, Sweet Baby, and was talking to her...she was showing her all around saying "see, Sweet Baby...God!" It was hard not to smile at her. (yes, her momma gave me tons of dirty looks!) Then she decided her baby was thirsty and was very ...VERY upset that her momma did not pack an extra milk cup for Sweet Baby! She was saying so pitifully...Sweet Baby NEEDS milk! Finally her momma gave her the container of extra milk and Miss Mia was satisfied!

OK...today I have been attempting to pack. Three separate sets...one for the pre-cruise (2 overnight bags) one for the cruise (two bags) and one for the park portion of the trip (two more bags).

Unfortunately...the packing lists have ALL disappeared. (suspect Miss B might have done it on purpose to mess with me) That was my list of which shirt and shorts went to the park, which ones went to the cruise...well you get the idea. Seems the kids 'might' have gone into the bags for school clothes at some point...the only one with enough outfits in the bags would be husband! (I guess he is the only one scared by me!!)

After spending all morning on it I finally gave up! So much stress! At least having the kids home from school today did accomplish one thing on my list. They cleaned out the car. On Wednesday, husband will take it to get it detailed and an oil change, but they got all their stuff and junk out and it actually looks much better!

I will start packing the car on Thursday... then we will leave bright and early Saturday morning!

I can't believe I have managed to NOT make any last minute changes yet...but I guess there is still time! LOL!

Hello Sunshine! I know you've stopped posting on The Dis lately, but I know you're still alive (and well) thanks to FB... But I do miss seeing you here. Sorry I don't get over to your PTR to read as often as I would like. I hope to be better about that once I get back to writing my own.

I just stopped by to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
