we'll be at the Park on my son's 8 bday (real bday) - As soon as we're in the Park (The goal is as soon as it opens), I was going to go to the City Hall and get a 1st time button for me, my husband and myself and a birthday one for him.

Do we need to stand in line? How long will it take? I don't want to waste too much time... We're not staying in a Disneyresort hotel otherwise I think we could have pick them up there...

Now this was two years ago, so it may be different, but we skipped city hall and got buttons down the road a ways where the wait times board was. No line there!

They used to have a large bin like wagon with a ton of different bottons in front of city hall with a couple CM's so that you don't have to wait in line just for buttons. I've also gotten lucky at guest services before getting into the park and some stores will have some, especially the birthday and 1st time buttons, you just have to ask

I was there 2 weeks ago and it was my DS 8 b-day. Went to city but it was later in the day. Nobody there easy peasy. I also saw some wearing carsland button but didn't notice if they were b-day ones.

They are certainly available at DCA. The place is right next to Oswald's. I don't remember the name as it's been 7 months. But they were quick and very helpful.

They have them in the gift shops too. The cars land ones you get from CM's in cars land for answering trivia (or, in my kids case, just looking cute)

If you are staying on Disney property the clerks at the stores can give you all the buttons you need, no lines and you are good to go.

The CM in the ticket line made DS a birthday button in Feb; just another spot you can go to to get your button!
Going into City Hall was always fun though as the kids would get a call from Goofy wishing them a Happy Birthday! Even very "cool" DS had a big grin when he listened to the call on his 8th bday
We haven't done the Goofy call in a few bday visits though as there is usually a line down the steps, so I'm not sure whether they still do it.

They have them at the ticket booths as well if you are buying tickets day

We found them all over the place. When we checked into the DLH, they gave us Anniversary buttons. When we got our photopass lanyard at the photo store, they gave us Honored Citizen buttons, and at the Tour Gardens (right next to cityhall), they gave us Happily Ever After Buttons!

We got our 1st time buttons on the Disnelyand Railroad.
