Disney art options

Hi! Wasn't sure which board to post this on... When we were there last year, we went to an art store - I think at Disney Springs. They had a touch screen where you could search and pick through all sorts of art options (characters, movies, paintings, canvas, prints, etc), pick the size, frame, etc. And then I believe it would be created and shipped.

Is that still there? And do any of the other art stores have the same thing (the one at Boardwalk for example)?

Yes, it is still there. Not sure if it is available in other places though

The Art of Disney store at Epcot, next to American Adventure, may have an ordering kiosk as well.

I recall that store @ Epcot when we were there a few years ago. Much of the older Disney artwork was hand painted and can be quite pricey. Depends how much you want to spend and if you are looking for something to be a one-of-a-kind collectable vs. a commercially reproduced print on your wall at home. The older Disney animation movies were produced from individually drawn hand paintings. Likely there were thousands of them in the typical feature length movie. As I understand it, they were originally just tossed in trash once the movie was completed. Over a period of years, they became in demand as people wanted them as collectibles. Today, I would imagine that artwork for animation movies is largely created using computer software. Might also search around online to see what other sites sell that type of product.

In general, it is probably cheaper to pick out your own frame and have it mounted at home instead of paying Disney for that.

The Riviera Resort has an Art on Demand kiosk in the gift shop.

We have ordered from those touch screens both on main street and in Rivera. Our best purchases were made during festival of the arts.

There’s a wonder ground gallery in the coop marketplace at DS. Agreed with previous post that Festival of the Arts has the most options. I noticed in August that DS Art of Disney didn’t have any Thomas Kincaide stuff which it used to have.
