Disney Announces New Premier Passport

huh??!?!! :confused3

That's exactly what I said to your post. Not sure why you think Ronnie's got nothing to do with it? Which I why I asked if you knew something we don't. Basically I'm asking you to explain why you think Ronnie's got nothing to do with it.

Because from reading everything posted here, aan1701's situation turned when:
...my friends mom look into it as she used to work at the AP center as a lead, and now works solely back stage. I got a message back from my friend that we are in the computer now for a PP....

That tells me Ronnie was not the "fix" in aan1701's situation, but the friend's mom did a favor and took care of it.

I can solve this. My friends Mom knows Ronnie. They used to work together when my friends mom did AP. I just asked my friends mom if she knew her and if she get things going, so Ronnie does have a lot to do with it.

Ah! The missing piece of information! Thanks, aan1701. Glad your friend's mom could give your situation a little nudge. Here's hoping Disneyland_Mama's gets resolved quickly as well.

sorry I left that part out, my bad. I hope it works out for all of us. I am doubtful until I am holding mine.

Ah, here I thought you had a secret in for us and were holding out. LOL! I hope my post didn't come off as snarky. This is frustrating as heck!

And it should not be.

I agree all of this should have been worked out before this announcement. I was told these issues were top priority and so far.... Disney is still taking a nose dive.... and this is just people trying to get the pass.. wait until you try and use them.. They don't work..had anyone used thier pass since Thursday the 18th? That is the day we left and the issue was still not fixed.

My mom activated hers yesterday. No problem with that. Then just to see what would happen, we went accros to DCA. The CM asked my mom for a paper ticket as well, the CM next to her said that is the new Premire Pass and just scan the bar code on the back. No problem.

well this is promissing. I wonder if the fact i purchased mine new onsite had any effect. Either way this is some good news to hear for us West Coasters!

Honestly, it reall is all Disneys fault. There was no training what so ever about this pass because they did not want the info leaked. You know when my moms pas was printed at WDW? 1/24/10. So they knew and made the choice not to train.

We used ours on Friday in the FP machines with no problems. I used mine on Saturday at the DL entrance with no problem, either. The CM did take a second look at it and said "Well that's cool!". :thumbsup2 Apparently all the ticketing/FP mechanisms are all programmed for them now.

Great! Now it's time to head back to DL! :cool1:

I was able to use my pass today. Got there early and got it activated with no problems. The CM did need the lead as he did not know how to process it, but that was not a problem. The lead told me that only 598 passes were mailed out and that over half were for SoCal residents. The CM did check my ID when I came through the gates, and said that they were required to do so. Funny thing, my picture from my DL AP came up, but they still wanted another form of ID. At the retail and dining locations, the leads had to come over to process the overrides for the discounts. All cast members seemed to be in awe of it and asked lots of questions about how often I go to WDW and things like that. At the bakery, I thought that they were going to walk it all over to show all the CMs as 3 CMs came to look at it. I hope it gets a little easier soon with no overrides being needed.:goodvibes

Apologies if this has already been covered but I couldn't see it from skimming the 11 pages or so of this thread so far.

I have a DVC discounted WDW AP. Upon renewal this should renew under the current offer to a 15 month AP.

If I then upgrade it to a Premier Passport, it should have the same expiry date - so I would have a 15 month Premier Passport. Is this correct?

Secondly, I read at the beginning of the thread that to upgrade you pay the difference in price between what you paid for your existing AP, and the cost of the new Premier Passport. Is it definitely the difference between the price you actually paid, or is it the difference in cost (i.e. the notional price)? I have read that there is no DVC discount on the Premier Passport, but it seems strange that they would effectively clawback the discount DVC members have already received on the purchase of a WDW AP. It would make more sense (not that that's ever meant anything :)) if there was no further discount on the $80 or so cost of upgrading from one to the other.

Apologies if this has been covered previously - the search engine isn't the best :confused3 - and thanks for your assistance.

coolio glad to know it's fixed now!! Although i still wonder if the issue was those who purchased brand new at the park verses those sent in the mail just needing activation. Especially if they knew since Jan...

I am sorry if this is going to sound harsh, but it is driving me nuts. As a fellow DVC member I love the price if this pass. I have a Premium to both WDW and DLR. Together I paid almost 900. So I ask at 722.27 what do I need a DVC discount for? I am already saving close to 200. If you look at this way, DVC gives me about 120 off of a WDW pass, but only 20 on a DLR pass, I dont know about anyone else, but I am now saving even more with this pass. Again, I may have been misreading you post. If I did I apologize. Just had to vent.

I have to agree. And I don't usually carry at Premium AP to DLR. But now that is is offered, I may have to reconsider, especially if we have multiple WDW trips planned.

aan1701 - Do you own at GCV? I noticed you purchased the same year we did. Our home resort is Kidani.

This pass only saves you money if you already purchase premium passes at both locations. Most DVC members don't live close enough to the parks to justify the cost without a discount as they don't make enough mulitple trips each year or fly in so they don't use the parking benefit. I wish they would have a deluxe version as we don't need the benefits of the premium version.
