Disney Announces New Premier Passport

ooh and also when we went to Story tellers cafe our discount on my receipt said club 33 15% discount. so I have a feeling it did not scan so they used a manual override as well so I could get the discount.

Thank you very much for your help. I will do that. I will also be coming armed with my Thomas Smith, he is the Director if Social Media for The Walt Disney Company, question and answers from Disneyparks.com. As well as my mom and her pass, my unexpired DLR pass and my WDW pass.
I may see you there, especially if my kids don't get theirs in the mail by then. :)
well i bought our passes on Sunday night.... took us the whole wishes show to process as the cast member had trouble and only my 6 year old re-took a picture!! Monday tried to get in the park... had to wait for a supervisor to override the system to let us in....... we were issued 1 day passes to use for FP use....I hope they fix this soon. It was kind of embarrasing at first. the kid behind us in line said.. what did they do get counterfiet tickets. And I looked at him and said no we purchased the premier annual passes.. and then the cast member began to explain that because the passes were so new they were not working in the system yet. and that in a normal situation he could override but for this pass he could not.
I went to guest services to alert them to make note when we exited the park at 1:00 pm on Monday and the lady misunderstood and said Florida passes don't work here in Disneyland.. i said no this is the premier pass. She looked at it and had to make a call.. She had no idea what it was.......AT GUEST SERVICES.. I understand not all employees will know but guest services absolutely should.

Case and point. CM's are always the last to know! I had a feeling Disney jumped the gun on this. You'd think they'd have all systems up and running before distribution. :sad2:

I could not agree more with the two quotes above. First off, I have not recived one mailing from DLR in two years now except when my new pass comes in. No renewal notices, nothing. I know some stuff is one per household, but really, not even a renewal notice. When it comes to the new pass, I think they should have dud their anoucement, said pass would be on sale one month from the anoucement, that should give them time to train, and instal what is needed. Yes I too think they jumped the gun big time.

Just a quick update, when I checked the mail before I headed out their was no passes.

Well an interesting development. The passes that we cancelled on Friday, showed up at my mothers home. Weird. I have this feeling I am going to have to go Friday and fight with them more. Wish they would get their act together.

My kids didn't get theirs either. I will be there on Friday if they don't come before then, which I have a feeling they won't.

Did they charge you for the renewal? :confused3

"Just imagine the people out there (if there are any) who have the So. Cal. Select AP and the FL Resident Weekday Select Pass. They now have a Premier AP. Talk about winning the Disney lottery! ".....this was a quote from a previous poster, but I guess I did not do that right...sorry!

Do you think there are many people to actually have both? I was leaning on the not likely, but if there were, wouldn't that affect the crowds, since now there passes would not have black out dates.

Am I correct in my understanding that any AP can be upgraded, as long as it is done before it expires? (Ex. buy Disneyland AP in June...upgrade to Premier in October.)

This latest development has this ND girl scheming a way to get to both within 365 days. It would be so much easier if I could find a little more time off work and a lot more money.

Given this and the fact that the renewed (but cancelled...bet they won't work even though they were sent) APs were sent to your mom's house, I bet they just have a bad address on you. Especially since you haven't received renewal notices...

I would trust what the main company is saying vs the CMs at DLR...and I would be very careful about continuing to have them mess with the account, because it could easily, depending on their systems, halt something that was likely happening automatically.

According to DW, they have not charged the Credit Card yet. She checks everyday. My mom said hers came from a address in FL and that goes with what I thought, that FL us doing most of work on this. We are going to give FL a call tomorrow. Looks like I will have to go down on Friday, I really did not want to go, and fight with them.

I think, just keep a positive attitude and don't view it as a "fight" or confrontation with anyone, and explain the situation calmly, and they will be as accommodating as possible. And if there is a problem, then you'll cross that bridge when you get to it while you are there, but don't expect there to be a problem.:goodvibes Know what I mean? I think they are trying to iron out the bugs because it is so new. It will all work out - don't worry!:goodvibes

Well two things, and I really do thank you for the advice. First, for my Disney stuff I use my Moms address, I never changed it cause she lives 3 miles from us and she can get the DVC discount on the tickets. My wife has our appartment as her address, so why she would get a pass mailed there is way beyond me. I have also verified with DLR, and they do have the correct address. As for the new passes, the reason we had it stoped is because we did not want to be charged, cause we should not have renewed. Just looks like I will have to fight a little, but I know I have the facts on my side, as I will once again come armed with both passes.

I am using the word fight as more of a generic term. I know you get more with sugar than vinager.

I'm going to guess no.

That is correct, but your expiration date would be the June date, not the October date. The only way you'll get the extended date is if you currently have an AP for both coasts.

I had similar problems with my PP at DLR. I had to wait at the front gate each day while they called a supervisor. I was given a replacement one-day hopper each time and was told to use it to get my fast passes and for re-entry into the parks. Many of the employees hadn't seen what PP looks like so I too had to explain it was a new pass; most hadn't even heard of it on the first day. I eventually went to the Annual Pass Center and waited while they checked the card and had to call a manager at home. After waiting for a very long time I was told the card is valid; they said it is their system. I had to instuct everyone to key in the numbers at the stores and restaurants because the bar code wouldn't work. Needless to say I was a little disappointed because I had to spend my very limited vacation time dealing with these issues. But on the other hand, I'm happy to have a PP! And I'm sure they will work out the bugs before I go back.

Do you think there are many people to actually have both?

According to a WDW ticketing CM on another thread, there are approximately 700 people who have both. That might explain why Disney decided to combine all the separate passes into the premier--because there just weren't that many.

Which might also explain why so few of the CM's have heard of these. Because of that "winning the Disney lottery" factor, I bet the execs were pretty tight lipped about this until it was released. If word had leaked out too early, can you imagine how many people would have rushed out and purchased an AP in order to win that lottery? My family of 4 has WDW AP's that expire next week, and I would have personally hopped a plane or driven the 1,000 miles to DL to buy the cheapest AP in order to get a premier pass with an expiration date of next March!

today we finally complained... I mean every place we went to we had to explain etc... and it was just embarrasing one kid in line who had to also wait while they figure out what to do with us one day said" are they trying to use counterfiet tickets... Normally I wouldn't have cared but seriously I piad 722.00 for this dog on pass. I hated to complain but the more I thought about it the more angry I became.. we missed 35 mins of a magic morning hour... we missed a day of fast pass use, and having to explain to every cast member we enountered was unacceptable.. and today at the world of Disney I was doing my last night shopping I always do.. and the cast member told me we don't have a code yet so there is no discount! I said oooh yes there is type in the bar code and it works.. he said ooh I learned something new! He told us there was another person who also tried to use the pass today that he had to turn away for the discount as he tried to do with us! it's 20% right now and that makes a difference. We were told only Disneyland is having this issue so far. We were given a free meal voucher when we complained... okay vent is over.... sorry guys lol..For those that know me i'm a disneyland poster child and taped a DVC travel channel show for them for goodness sakes..I do still love Disney!!

Well--the good news is that my voucher came on March 15--the bad news is that it was mailed to my Mom's house! She brought it to me when she came for dinner last night (corned beef!). Now, why it was sent to my Mom's address is an absolute mystery. I have never used that address with Disney. Both of my annual passes were set up for MY address and I get all other types of AP mail there--magazine, renewal notices, etc. The only way they could have gotten my Mom's address is that she is on one of my DVC memberships as a member. But what the heck would that have to do with MY AP? Plus MY address is on that account too (and I get mailings).

I just don't know how Disney could have screwed up this badly--and wonder how many other people have had their mail re-directed to a wrong address?

Would you mind sharing that number? My kids still have not received theirs yet. :confused3
