Disney Announces New Premier Passport

I just wanted to say something about my pervious frustration about their being no DVC discount for this Pass. I should have said that this pass only really works if it you will use it. If you only go to DL a few days a year, and spend the majority of the time at WDW, or vice verca, then this pass is not for you. I am lucky. I live 30 miles from DL. I own DVC, and I work for an airline so I can pretty much go to WDW when I want. This pass is the perfect choice for me, and at 722.27 or what ever it is with the FL tax, I think a bargin.

Greatings from Pin Trading night. Well I am now the proud owner of this

The saga ends. Thank goodness. Now just need to come up with 700 on 1/27/11 6 days after my Panama canal cruise on the Disney Wonder and a pin and bar bill that is bound to he high.

Congrats Alan! I'm glad everything worked out, have a nice evening at DL.

I know the pass will be around. The question is how much are they going to raise the price. I think I may be in luck and the price may not go up by Jan, but DW expires in June of next year, I think gets will cost more.

I am thirilled it is over for both of us. You were not kidding about it taking some time, about 30 min to get it done. I think it woukd have been a little faster I complicated things with my expired AP. So what they had to do was issue me a new AP good for a day, then use that to exchange it in for the PP. Sandy helped us and remembered us. She was great. She did makevan error mine. She gave me an expriation of 3/27/10. I quickly pointed it out, but honestly when I started telling her, she knew and almost used a naughty word on stage, she almost said I "F" up insted I messed up. She put the right experation date. All is good.

Sorry if this has been asked......

We are cureent AP holders at WDW just a regular AP free parking an discounts no water parks or disney quest.

When it is time to renew our AP's next month can we get a discount on the PREMIER PASSPORT? If so how much is that discount?

OR

Do we need to renew our AP's that we have now at the renewal discount then upgrade to the Premier Passport at a later date?

We have WDW APs for our entire family. Did the math for our DL trip in August, and I think we'll get 3-day hoppers online for my husband and our kids. But it's only $27 more for me to upgrade, and then we can take advantage of the DL AP discounts while we're there.

Two questions:

1) Does anyone know where we would need to go to upgrade my WDW AP to a Premier Passport? We'll check in at GCH around noon on a Saturday. Would we need to go to the front entrance of DL or DCA to do this?

2) I can't find an official list of DL AP discounts. With the Premier Passport, is it 10% off merchandise and 15% off dining? Is that dining everywhere in DL, resort hotels and DCA? Is it both counter and table service?

Thanks so much for any help!!

Go to disneyland.com. There's an Annual Passport section that is open to all (there's also one that is just for AP holders) and it has the list of discounts.

The Premier will give DLR Premium benefits, so...15% off most food, 10% off most merchandise... Not all places take the AP discount (I've always been told NO at...mind has just blanked out...the walkup place that sells gumbo in New Orleans Square, and the ice cream place in the railroad car in DCA doesn't take the discount either...neither one are mentioned in the list of AP food discounts), but I ask *everywhere*.

Thanks for the additional information! Disneyland.com was my first stop when looking for this info, and I can usually find things pretty quickly, but I just can't locate that list of participating restaurants. I found the 15% off food/10% off merchandise on mousemisers, but all I can find on disneyland.com is the following in the "terms and conditions" link:

An Annual Passholder must present his/her valid Annual Passport prior to purchases to receive any applicable benefits and discounts. Benefits and discounts are nontransferable and may not be combined with any other offer or promotion. Discounts apply only to a minimum purchase of ten dollars ($10) (excluding taxes, fees and gratuities). Merchandise discounts, as applicable, are not valid on artist originals, limited editions, selected collectibles, DVDs, software media, cameras, sundries, periodicals, personalization, Disney Dollars, gift cards, gift certificates, admission media, arcades, shipping, or taxes, or on phone, online or mail order purchases. Dining discounts are not valid on alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, room service, holiday buffets, taxes or gratuities. Benefits and discounts are determined solely by Disney and may be valid at only select locations.

Is there a list of participating restaurants - I must be missing something on the site.

UPDATE: Now I feel completely silly - I didn't realize I could access anything on the current passholder side of the website - thanks Bumbershoot!

There is currently no discount on the Premier Passport.

Yes. Once you renew, you would only have to pay the difference to upgrade.

I would just enter DL and head to the AP processing center. They can do the upgrade there.

I just read through this thread with great interest. I had heard that Disney was automatically mailing out Premier Passports to those who had valid annual passes for both coasts as of March 1.
Cool! I was thrilled with this news as I have a Disneyland PAP that expires in June and a WDW annual pass that expires on March 10, 2011.
But then nothing ever showed up at my house, so I thought it was just another rumor that wasn't going to prove to be true.
Glad to read that while it may take me some time and a few phone calls, I will be able to get the Premier Pass.:banana::banana:

If you can I would go to DL and go to the AP center ASAP. Just make sure you bring both passes and then they can issue the pass right there.

Thanks for posting a Link Sherry in another thread i wasnted to ask a question but wa lazy to search about this pass..
Anyone else having trouble logging into the AP site? I have access to DL as I have always had an annual pass but I cannot add my new pass to the system nor can I get on the DW ap site..

You are not the only one. I have emailed WDW twice now on how to add my pass so I can log on to the WDW AP site. No answer. I am getting ready to ask again, this time my email will be addresed to a supervisor or manager as this, I feel, is very unprofesinal nit even to send a reply. If they don't know, just say it. I can still log on to the DL AP site with no problem.

I did FINALLY get my Premier passport a few weeks ago. The hardest part was getting a CM on the phone who knew anything about it! :confused3
Anyway, I finally got a great WDW CM who knew that there were some people who were not mailed the Premier pass that should have been. She sent it to me via FedEx. :thumbsup2

Now a question for you folks that have already activated it. Do you have to activate the Premier AP before going into the Park? Or does it activate at the turnstile? I'll be making my next trip on June 11th!

Ok, I am gonna ask this question here since I didn't get a very detailed reply on the WDW boards.

I have a current WDW AP expiring 5/10 (12 days from now). I ordered my renewal pass online and today I received an exchange voucher in the mail. I was planning on upgrading to the premier passport when we travel to DL on May 23rd. How are they going to upgrade my pass if I haven't activated it yet? :confused3 It's just a plastic card and doesn't say anything about 15 month renewal (although the paper receipt does say 15 months) Will they just apply the $$ spent to the Premier Passport? I would actually really love it if they could treat it like an active pass since I have a 15 month renewal on the WDW AP and then the upgrade to Premier would be for 15 months.

Any experience with this? I know the pass is not all the prevalent so I am worried they won't know what to do with it when I get there. Oh, and to complicate things I'm going to try and use my GAD voucher to offset the cost. :scared1: I am imagining a nightmare here.

Thanks for your help all!

You will need to use your current DLR AP to get into the park and then head straight for the AP processing center to activate the PP.
When you activate the PP, they will take your DL AP from you. Good luck!:goodvibes

Thanks for the info! The only problem is that my current DL AP expires on May 30th and I'm not going to DL until June 11th! :confused3

My WDW AP expires on Jan 28th so the Premier AP has an expiration of 1/28/11 printed on the back.
