Disney Announces New Premier Passport

You might want to recheck those numbers...

DL Deluxe AP $299 ($279 for DVC members)
WDW 6 day parkhopper $280 (from Undercovertourist, includes tax & shipping)
Total $559

That's a $163 per person difference.

Parking isn't a benefit to us as we stay on-site so it's already included.
:headache: So sorry, you're totally right. I mistakenly used the number for the Deluxe DL AP (with the DVC discount) with parking which is $358. And I figured the regular WDW cost.

$163 is no small savings!

No worries :goodvibes...I was really looking forward to this pass until the pricing came out without any discounts. I've had three years with multiple trips to DL and one WDW trip. Maybe they'll come up with one without the golf, water parks and disney quest that will be more in our price range.

If both passes were valid as of March 1, 2010, you should be receiving a mailer from Disney Parks shortly. It will contain a Disney Premier Passport, which you can take (along with both Annual Passes/Passports) to any Disneyland Resort Ticket Booth/Guest Relations location or Walt Disney World Resort Guest Relations location in order to activate. The expiration date will be determined from the later of the two.[\QUOTE]
Apperntly this is not true, well at least according to Disneyland. My wife and I have active passes that expire this month but have not yet expired. The Cast member said because our passes at Dosneyland are within a "renewal window" that we are not going to get an automatic pass unless we renew our Disneyland passes. Also, the Cast Member said that no passes were being mailed till next week. I am going to go and try to fight this as it looks like we should not have to renew, but I need something to back me up. If anyone has Links from Disney they can send or post so I can have something I would love it. Thanks.

I just had a similar experience at DLR, but don't despair. Most of the DLR CM's don't know what they are talking about regarding the new PP and my experience is what they don't know, they make up. I actually had a CM tell me the PP was available on the payment plan.

If you have an active pass at both parks (effective March 1), you will receive in the mail THIS WEEK a new PP. Should you not receive your new pass by Friday, take both passes to the AP processing center in DLR and they will give you your pass.

My DLR pass expires March 29th and my WDW pass expires 7/31/10. I will receive in the mail a new PP with an expiration date of 7/31/10.

HTH :thumbsup2

That sounds exciting but heres a question for you. If I go to DLR like on average over a dozen times in one year but only go to WDW once that year. Would that make sense to purchase a premier pass?

Well two things, first when I was at DLR on Friday they did stop prossesing my renewal, so that is good. The second thing I do not understand. When I showed them my two passes why did they not just give me and my DW our passes when I asked if they could just give us our passes since we showed up with both passes? :confused3 Anyway, if they do not want to give me my pass, I have proof from the Walt Disney Company Social Media Director. He was asked about a simlar situation that I am in. His reply, which I say is the offical Walt Disney Comapany policy on this is, Anyone who has an active pass on 3/10/10 to both DLR and WDW will get a new PP with the experation being the later of your two passes. Well since my pass expires on 3/21/10 at DLR and 1/27/11 at WDW, they have to give me one.

It depends on how long you go to WDW. The WDW 10 day PH is $347 right now. So if you go to WDW for 10 days, plus get a DAP then its worth it for the additional discounts you'll get at WDW plus you'll now have PAP benefits at DLR.

I'm not sure why they didn't want to give you one, perhaps because they are mailing all the automatic upgrade people. I don't think the issue is that they will not give you one. They didn't want to give you one because it is being mailed to you today. If you don't have it by Friday, then you'll need to persue it further.

It sucks, but I guess we have to be patient. I am expecting mine tomorrow or Wednesday. Trust me, if I don't have it by Friday, I'll be at DLR demanding one. :teeth:

Good luck! I'll post if I get mine in the mail this week.

ETA: I got mine in the mail today!:woohoo:

Thanks for the reply. If you don't mind what is your main point for infromation? Not that I don't trust you, but I just feel that Disney is trying to get 838 bucks out of me, when by all accounts I should not have to pay a thing. Thanks.

Well my Mom got hers today. Nothing for DW or myself. If I don't have it by Friday, DLR is going to see me and I am not leaving till they give me one.

As long as you meet all the criteria to get the Premier AP mailed out to you as a replacement, I am sure you will get yours this week. I don't think it will be a problem.

My DH and I both got ours today, but our kids did not. :confused3

The information I gave you is based on what CM at the AP Processing Center and the CM at the ticket booth told me. Also the Disneyland blog states the same thing.

I do. I have a pass that expires Sunday. My DW a week from Sunday. Those are our DLR passes. My WDW pass expires 1/27/11 and hers is 6/3/11. The problem is is that DLR says we need to renew. Everything the Walt Disney Company has put out says otherwise.

Who is telling you this information? One CM?

You need to go to the AP processing center. Since it's all new, A LOT of CM's don't even know about it or how it works. The AP CM's know what's going on and will give you the most accurate information.

Trust me, on Sunday I went from the ticket booth, to Guest Relations, to the AP processing center until I got the information I was looking for.

Well if I don't have one in hand by Friday, I am going to get it. I will get it. Which AP center do you recomend to go to?

The one in DCA is closed due to the upcoming F&W Fest, so you'll have to go to the one in DL. And for some reason, if your CM doesn't know what you are talking about, have her get a Lead CM. :thumbsup2

Thank you very much for your help. I will do that. I will also be coming armed with my Thomas Smith, he is the Director if Social Media for The Walt Disney Company, question and answers from Disneyparks.com. As well as my mom and her pass, my unexpired DLR pass and my WDW pass.

well i bought our passes on Sunday night.... took us the whole wishes show to process as the cast member had trouble and only my 6 year old re-took a picture!! Monday tried to get in the park... had to wait for a supervisor to override the system to let us in....... we were issued 1 day passes to use for FP use....I hope they fix this soon. It was kind of embarrasing at first. the kid behind us in line said.. what did they do get counterfiet tickets. And I looked at him and said no we purchased the premier annual passes.. and then the cast member began to explain that because the passes were so new they were not working in the system yet. and that in a normal situation he could override but for this pass he could not.
I went to guest services to alert them to make note when we exited the park at 1:00 pm on Monday and the lady misunderstood and said Florida passes don't work here in Disneyland.. i said no this is the premier pass. She looked at it and had to make a call.. She had no idea what it was.......AT GUEST SERVICES.. I understand not all employees will know but guest services absolutely should.
