Disney Announces New Premier Passport

:faint: For the potential savings is so awesomely wonderful and great! I almost cannot believe it. :)

So I am sure that with the Premier AP, you will still get the merchandise discount, food discount (15%, because it's equivalent to DLR Premium) and hotel discounts.

So, just for clarification (sorry, I just want to be sure I understand :upsidedow), but does the WDW annual pass allow for discounted room rates like DLR? Does anyone have experience with this? If so, are the discounts good?

This is awesome news! I might just be getting one because:

-Taking a 7+ day trip to WDW this summer
-Going to college in So. Cal in the fall = many trips to DLR! :)

+ all of the food and merchandise discounts

But our family would probably only buy it for me, as they would not visit DLR as much as I will. I told my mom about it and she's like "You better start working!!" :lmao:

It's from the information that was released to Cast about the Passport after it was announced at the Shareholders Meeting. Most of it is available or will be available through Disneyland.com, DisneyWorld.com, and DisneyParks.com shortly, I'm sure.

I have both a DLR PAP and a WDW annual pass (non-Florida resident). My WDW annual pass was good for 15 months from last November. How are those handled? I guess I don't get the auto-upgrade? can I still trade the two in for the Premiere Pass?

If both passes were valid as of March 1, 2010, you should be receiving a mailer from Disney Parks shortly. It will contain a Disney Premier Passport, which you can take (along with both Annual Passes/Passports) to any Disneyland Resort Ticket Booth/Guest Relations location or Walt Disney World Resort Guest Relations location in order to activate. The expiration date will be determined from the later of the two.

If you don't receive a mailing before your next trip to one of the Disney Parks, just bring both Passes/Passports with you, and they'll be happy to upgrade it anyway.

I just wish I could go to Florida in the next year!! I would do a DLR Christmas trip and a WDW Christmastime trip!

Abundance for Sherry, abundance for Sherry, a whole ton of paying clients for Sherry, right now! :goodvibes

Glendalais is a current WDW CM who used to be a DLR CM. He has access to things normal humans do not. Helpful sort, Glendalais (and all our other disboard CMs!!!!!!) is. Oh, just a minute late in my explanation!

Did I mention that this would make for a wonderful gift to me for my birthday? :)

OMG!!! I was just telling my DH that we should plan a trip to the world this year instead of DLR because of all the construction...with this pass we could do both and justify it. I really want this pass!:woohoo::yay::banana::dance3:

Just an FYI-- At times, Cirque du Soleil will give significant savings to their tickets for the show "La Nouba" at DownTown Disney. (This is a Cirque show created specifically for Disney-so that familes could attend - best show in Florida) I've seen discounts as low as $54 for this show.

Yes, there are discounts to rooms .

Annual Passholders also can purchase a "Tables in Wonderland" card which gives even greater discounts on meals for up to six persons in your party. This card pays for itself after the first few uses. It also includes invitations to several special food events at WDW.

I'm thrilled!!! We already have APs for both DL and WDW, and have had both for many years - this is something that we have wanted for a long time. I'm SO looking forward to receiving my Premier Pass in the mail!

This is so great to hear. :woohoo:

I'm heading WDW in two weeks and will be heading over to DL for a business trip next week and maybe I can upgrade my premium annual pass that expires in June to the premier pass next week. I will be at WDW for 7 days and many more trips to DL in the near future.

I wonder what is the difference when I bought my pap in june ($389) and have to pay the difference to buy a premier pass? If the premier is at $700 - $389 premium = $311 have to pay.

But I am wondering when my pass expires in June 10, do i have to pay another full price or do i pay the difference in the premier of $700 minus the $311 for the upgrade of the premier and the total that i have to pay will be $389?

This will be so great to use the pass at both parks in this month. :thumbsup2

That's correct. Finger scans. They used to do the photo thing, aeons ago! Now, it's a Tyvek paper card--virtually indestructable. It can't tear. Once they have you in the system, you can even wash the darn thing, and all the lettering will come off, and still get it replaced! And that's why CM's don't ask for proof of your Annual Pass when you check into a resort. They already know...

We are crunching the numbers on this as we have 5-night trip for DL in April and 7-night trip for WDW in June.

I'm thinking we end up short on actual cost savings....
DL 5-night = $249
WDW 7-night hopper w/ water parks = $359
Total - $608

But I like what other discounts are offered with annual passes so I'm thinking we will come ahead if just 1 of us purchases so we can get 10-15% meals at DL, Tables in Wonderland card to get 20% off meals in WDW, plus all the other little extras the annual passes offer.

Unless we could get another vacation in before April 2011 :rolleyes1

WOW! We are currently premium DL AP holders, so for the price difference we can go to WDW this summer!!!!! Soooooooo tempting! :yay:

I need some help here. Before yesterdays amouncement my DW mailed back our monthly payment option to renew our PAP at DL as my pass expires on 3/21 and DW on 3/28. We currently have PAP at WDW. Mine expires on 1/11/11 and hers sometime in May 2011. ( Yes we got the 15 month pass). So this morning DW calls DL and asked if when they revive our paperwork for DL renewals can it be disregarded. The CM told her that we still needed to renew, but that goes a complete 180 on what is posted on the Disney Parks site. We should not have to renew right? Any help I would love it. Thanks.

Oh, one more thing I forgot! This past year, Disney made the Dining Plan available to AP holders. So, you can get the room discount -when it's offered--and get the dining plan that others get when they book a package.

Just got it at Disneyland! Already had a Disneyland Deluxe Pass and I'm going to Disney World for the week in the summer.

I was the second person at Disneyland to get it!

It's gold, slightly glimmery.

No picture on it, but it has both a biometric swipe and a barcode.

Cost me 420 after I upgraded.

Pretty good deal considering now I'm a premium holder at Disneyland!

Can't wait!!!!

Apperntly this is not true, well at least according to Disneyland. My wife and I have active passes that expire this month but have not yet expired. The Cast member said because our passes at Dosneyland are within a "renewal window" that we are not going to get an automatic pass unless we renew our Disneyland passes. Also, the Cast Member said that no passes were being mailed till next week. I am going to go and try to fight this as it looks like we should not have to renew, but I need something to back me up. If anyone has Links from Disney they can send or post so I can have something I would love it. Thanks.
