Disney Angels & The Last Man Standing

Thanks for the hugs and good wishes my friends. Lew talked to his dad this afternoon and he was in better spirits...and no serious injuries...phew! They have a realtor coming on Thursday and I'm hoping that they do list it now. Once we have an idea of how long it may take to sell we can start planning for a place for them here.

They're concerned with getting the place in shape and getting rid of the clutter that seems to accumulate. I also think they just need some familiar faces around them, although they have a wonderful neighbor who is really an angel.

We haven't yet spoken with Lew's sister but we've thrown arounds some ideas ourselves. We're thinking of taking a very quick trip down...the weekend leading up to Veteran's Day....and doing as much as we can for them. We'll also bring back as much as we can fit in the van to save in moving expenses.

Thanks again for listening my friends! :grouphug:

Hey Gail....sounds like things are moving in a positive direction for you and Lew...hope it all works out quickly.

 for you!

Hope all the little angels (and bigger angels...Diane, Marsha, Carol, et al) are on the mend.

Answers for Diane - IVP has gone the way of old technology. Which in a way is good, because it was 2 large IV bags dumped in, and then wait wait wait for the xray and then hope you get to the potty before you burst! I don't mind the C/T scan. Here's some interesting (or not) medical history on me - whenm I was 22, I suffered a stroke. I was totally numb on my right side, could not talk, could not remember the alphbet, the phone number where I worked for 5 years, or Pete's (my DH) phone number. While I was in the hospital, I had to have an xray (or 2 or more) and when they took me to the xray lab, I could see people, but not their faces. That is very normal, I have been told. Anyway, back to the point. The neurologist ordered a C/T Scan, and back then there were only 2 machines on the east coast, one in Boston and one at George Washington University Medical Center. I had the stroke the Saturday befor THanksgiving, I got my C/T appointment for New Years Eve, that was the soonet they could do it. They put a rubber cap on my head, and then a metal frame thing. Then they said hold still, and for 90 minutes, I couldn't move, they filled the contraption with water, so it was pressing against my head, it was like being underwater scuba diving. Anyway, 600 slice pictures of my brain later, they turned me loose. I will tell you that that entire experience was very interesting, but I don't ever want to repeat any part of it!

No, I don't mind the C/T scan, the technician gets me in there, and then the machine moves, and a recorded voice says when to breath, I just do what it tells me.

Steph, remember, 6:30 for me is 9:30 for you, I doubt LPP will be waiting then! I'll have to be out of here at 6am. As for Juan, I sure do miss that lettle jumping bean.

News on the job front, I got another call from the temp recruiter that I have spoken with before, 2 times. Once again, she presents this opportunity that she already told me about, the one she said if the guy wanted more candidates, she would send my info! And once again, she asked if I did any of the testing, so this is the 3rd time I have told her yes. The last 3 people she sent did not want the jon for various reasons. I wouldn't mind the job, in an exclusive area of Snotsdale, and the pay starts at $15.00, which is about 1/2 what I was making, I can live with that easy. I hope to at least interview with the guy, but I am not holding my breath.

Gail, I like your plan, would you take the kids, or leave them so that you have extra room in the van? It will be good to get them nearer the family. Less excuse to go to FL tho, but it's so important to have famikly around. Especially for your kiddos. (except for me, out here with no family to speak of! and loving it)

See you all later. It did sprinkle BTW, about 10 drops.

Marsha, I don't want to make fun of you when you don't feel well, but is this a new area of Arizona? (I think you meant Scotsdale but this really made me laugh.)

Gail, good luck with Lew's parents. Keep us posted.

Carol!!! You caught it! No, not a new area, those of us who are amazed at the snootiness there call it that. But you are correct, I was referring to Scottsdale.

The Dis was down earlier, but Iwanted to tell everyone to have a good evening. And don't forget, if you want to be in on the Autumn Exchange, please PM me you info by the 15th. So far we have Carol, SB, LK, Lars, Gaspode, Me, Gina, and Gail who have followed instructions.

I will check in after I get back from the xray place, I won't have time before I leave.

Neato.....I'm going to print this and hang it on the fridge!!!! :goodvibes

Hope things go well for you today Marsha. To answer your question, just Lew & I would go to Florida. We can travel faster, get more done in a short time, and there will be more room in the van.

Have a good day everyone! :wave2:

I am glad Lew's parents agree they should be closer. It is always much harder when aging parents don't want to believe they are aging.

I'll be saying a prayer for you this morning, Marsha. I know the CTs are easy (I had 3 lately), but I just hate the sounds of that machine.

My arm is feeling good, but I wish the rest of my problems were gone. They can't seem to get me anything to help the asthma. I react badly to all the meds. It is starting to look like I am into an immune storm that is making me very chemically sensetive. I'll be seeing the CFS doctor a week from tomorrow.

Morning Angels!:D

Marsha - good luck today - will be thinking about you.

Gail - good thing you got a new van to make the trip w/.

Going to my DS's school this morning to help out w/ a project. I haven't told him - I want to see the look on his face. I've only met the teacher at open house, so this will be the first time I see her in action.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning all :) Busy day again here today. Tomorrow we take off for a half a day and goof off so I need to get more in today than probably normal.

This will be a lame catch up because of all I need to do.

But more  to you Gail. Sounds like everything is falling into place with your FIL.

Marsha, I really hope you are feeling better soon and good luck with the job prospects!

Diane, glad to hear the arm is bette, but sorry about the asthma problems. I hope they figure that out soon!

Hi to everyone else and I should be around later today.

Good Morning Angels * & Alan*

Busy day here.....gotta get all the things done that I won't be able to do with the kids home for the rest of the week.

Good morning everyone.

I can follow directions too. But, only 2 weeks to shop and mail and we are going out of town for a college tour during that time. I will try hard though. If it is all Angels, and no men, I can start shopping now. It is a $20 limit, correct?

OK, I am back from the C/T scan, and I have all the pictures. I have no idea how to read them, but they are interesting, to say the least.

Carol, yes $20.00 limit. I think I may start my shopping early, at Saturday's DIS meet here. Nativetxn is coming to town, tomorrow! Someone set up a meet at the huge "Mills" mall, so I will probably go early and pick up some fall inspired goodies.

If anyone else wants in, you must PM me your mailing address, I do not have them from before, somewhere I missplaced my address book!

Now on to the riddle!

LOL Alan :rotfl:

Marsha, when do you get to talk to your doctor about the results?

Gotta share, I have an interview, a real interview!!!! It's at ASU School of Music, next week. No sooner did I get off the phone with them, my temp to hire recruiter called to set up one for tomorrow with the financial advisment firm. That one pays better, but is about 30 miles away. Of course, I need a job offer before I can decide.................. DH says I am hot property. I am so excited, especially because the ASU job I did all on my own.

Woo Hoo!!!!

Oh, I need to add, unless I get bad pains, the x rays get read on the 18th of November, 1st available appointment!

I am too happy................

Congratulations! I hope the best job wins, and that DH always knows you are "hot property"

I can't believe how long you are waiting on the X-Rays :(
