Val, your mom sounds like a winner! I'm betting she'll beat the odds and get back to normal. I'll continue to keep her in my prayers.
Lars, that is so sad. They'll always remember today as the day the bus didn't come and they got soaked. The photo is great and I hope the rest of their day is fantastic!
Carol, glad your kids survived. Mine too. I think they both like their classes pretty well so far, but they haven't had much homework yet either. LOL!
Good luck tonight with PT, Elaine. Hope it helps you.
I took Amy to the orthodontist this morning. Tonight we have Court of Honor for Boy Scouts. It's turning into a busy day.
I forgot to post more about the mudball fight. We have permission to have it every year at the Ketner farm. They have a pond that the boys can use to get water, since it's a necessary ingredient for mud. Each patrol (we have 5 patrols of about 12 to 30 boys each) has a staked out area. They put together a catapult which usually involves lashing and practicing knot skills. They haul the water and mix up the mud. At a designated time, they start lobbing mud. If a "mudball" lands in another patrol's area, your patrol gets a point. Mudballs must be pure mud without stones or any other additive.
This degrades eventually into mud-slinging and even mud bucket dumping. After the winners have been established, they play British Bulldog and tug-of-war and I think another game. Finally, when they are winding down, they all jump into the shallow pond and try to wash off most of the mud.
If any of you are familiar with Oklahoma, we are famous for our red dirt. The farm pond's water looks red, too. The dirt is very high in iron content, and they tell me that is why it looks red. Anyway, it doesn't wash off easily, so they usually look almost as bad after the rinsing as before. Personally, I have David wear clothes that he can simply throw away, if it takes a trip to the thrift store to buy something for that purpose. It's just not worth trying to clean them up.
I may attend this year just to take pictures. I have no desire to try my hand at mud wrestling!

Bernie, I think this should be considered for a political merit badge. LOL! I'll have to tell that one to our Scoutmaster.
Have a great day, all. I'm off to launder the sheets and towels. I'll check back tonight if I have internet service. Sigh. Seems like I'm off as much as I'm on lately.
