I have a recruiter interview tomorrow. I guess I need to spend some time padding, er I mean honing, my resume. And what should I wear???? A dress, nice pants, what about my hair, down or up? Sheesh, this could make me nuts, but it won't.

Good day to all of you, I am not guessing on the riddle, and I can't catch up. Too much work to do! Gotta find a job.......:(

pants and hair up.....sophisticated chic

I'd probably go with hair up and pants, too. I'll be thinking of you.

I need some positive thoughts from anyone who feels so inclined.

My in-laws and I don't like each other very much, but we do care about/love each other. Does that make any sense? I don't like their ways, but they are good to us and I'm sure they mean well. We are just very different and I don't deal well with anyone telling me what I am going to do.

Having said all of that, things have been much better the last few years. Since my FIL had his stroke, I think it takes most of MIL's energy to take care of him. (Less time for her to pick at me! LOL!) I certainly wish them the best always.

Well, we just found out that MIL has been spotting. She went to her doctor and they couldn't figure out why from an exam. So they are going to schedule a D&C to check it out more closely.

My DH and I have been worried the last few years that all the stress of taking care of FIL would bring her down. She always looks tired and I feel very sorry for her. I don't know what we'd do if something happened to her too. To be honest, I don't know if I could handle having either of them live with me, but that's another story all together.

Please if you would keep Verna in your prayers. She just had her 70th birthday this summer. Do you know of any reason besides cancer that a woman of her age would be spotting? This has me really concerned.

Hey Melissa.....(((HUGS))) for you and your family....

I TOTALLY know how you feel......you just described the relationship I have with my in-laws!

Thanks Stephanie. I think I tend to carry around a lot of guilt that I am not able to make them like me. But the last few years I have seen that I don't "like" them a whole lot either. I finally saw that our relationship is what it is and I need to accept that. I can't forget the things that happened in the past, but that's okay. I just take it one visit at a time.

The same goes for me too an currently my in-laws are having a rough stretch too. Sending some {{hugs}} to everyone!

I'm heading into a busy few days. A very good friend is having surgery tomorrow and his 2 sons will be spending some time with us. It's supposed to be out-patient but with Arnie it doesn't always work out that way. :(

I have a neat story to share. I bought a pair of silver Tinkerbell earrings on our last trip to Disney 2 years ago. Sometime last winter I lost one of the Tinkerbells. Well yesterday she must have been sprinkling some pixie dust because I found her!!!

Hi all... I didn't realize how tired I was until I started to type this... so many people are in need of {{hugs}}

I agree Marsha, pants & hair up!

Gail, glad you found your Tink :)

I really need to lay donw... sorry this was so pathetic.

Elaine, glad you are going to take a nap. Wish I had time to do the same this afternoon. :D DH didn't sleep well last night, so I was restless, too.

Glad that Gail found her Tink earring! Doesn't it just make your day when something that was lost turns up?

Thanks for all the hugs. Hopefully this is nothing that the docs can't deal with.

Hello Everyone!

Melissa-I will keep your MIL in my prayers & in my thoughts. {{{hugs}}} for you

Gail-I hope that your friends surgery goes well & he recovers quickly.

Marsha-Hair up & pants is my vote too!

I spent the afternoon at the hospital again today. She had a CT scan last night looking for cysts on her pancreas but the results showed nothing. Tomorrow she is having a vascular test & a MRI. I don't really know how the vascular test works just that it will show the veins in the digestive system. She isn't getting any better but she isn't getting any worse either. I hope & pray that they can find something tomorrow. I'm going to go up there in the morning & stay til our other friend gets there in the afternoon.
If you can please keep her in your thoughts & prayers.

Good evening ladies.

Has anyone heard from Bernie at all? He has never read the last PM I sent on Wednesday. Was he around at all this morning? Hope he is OK.

...to you and Verna:D ! Hopefully it'll be nothing more'n stress...

 :earseek: OMG...been watching the Weather Channel, and it doesn't look too good for the whole Eastern seaboard....our 6th grade guidance counselor's daughter is getting married on Friday; they say rain on your wedding day is good luck, but this is ridiculous!:(

Have a safe trip Melissa...hope to hear from ya soon!

Laura ~
Mucho prayers to your friend....hopefully that test will finally show something so they can start some sort of treatment....:D

I haven't heard from Bernie. Hope all is well. Do all the angels need to gather their uniforms and form a search party?

Lars, I am thinking good thoughts for your friend. I'm glad to hear she isn't getting worse. Just wish they'd come up with a diagnosis. Maybe tomorrow. I'll keep praying.

All of you on the east coast take care. I've never experienced a hurricane and hope I never have to. Sounds pretty scary to me. Try to stay dry.

Evening all :) Sorry about that lame post... I really had no clue how tired I was until I started typing. Not even sure what has me so whiped out today.

Merry, I hope you are right adn this isn't anything that the doctors can't take care of!

Lars, continued prayers for your friend. I do hope she will be okay!

Carol, I just sent Bernie an IM... no response yet, but he's showed up as online today. I noticed him earlier too... but today the DIS was so slow at work that I didn't get a chance to reply to nearly anything :(

Kimmar, I really hope the bad weather finds its way elsewhere... I hope that the wedding won't be flooded out or anything!

Off to get a couple things done... I'll be back later :)

Evening Angels!:D

{{{hugs}}} going out to MP, Lars, and Gail.

Gail - way to go about finding Tink (or maybe she finally found you;) ).

Carol & Gina - hope you guys are braving out the storm!

Hi E, Kimmar and CS!

Hi all !

Prayers and good thoughts for those that need them tonight ...

Gail, how cool you found that earring after all this time.....

So far here in CT they're expecting wind and rain but not a direct hit .... we'll see what happens as the week goes on ... but I have
worries about my sisters in Virginia ..... especially when they say it may be heading for Chesapeake Bay and one of my sisters
lives in Chesapeake ! (near Norfolk / Va Beach) .... here's hoping
that it will continue to weaken as it heads north - but even if it
does it will be a force to be reckoned with ....

Just found that John Edward from Crossing Over is coming to my area... I may see if I can get tickets tomorrow....the first time I saw his show I thought it must be a crock, but the more I watch him the more I've turned into a believer ...... I still don't know what to think sometimes but think it may be an interesting thing to experience ....

Good night all and have a good day Tuesday !

Weather update from my in-house expert!

The worst of the storm will be Thursday and Thursday night and will hit Virginia/Maryland/Southern New Jersey with a more direct impact. Expect heavy rains and strong winds, may up to 100 mph in certain areas. Central and Northern Jersey will experience squally rains and winds 50-70 mph with higher gusts possible.

This is based on the most recent info which takes the storm over the Outer Banks of NC and up the Chesapeake Bay. It's now projected to pass slightly farther West than first projected but the impact of that will be minimal to the affected areas.

Batten down the hatches Carol and hold onto your hats Gina and Kimmar. Sandy, Valerie & I should be getting wet (yes I know, I'm already all wet!!!) Steph should stay dryer.

That's all for our East Coast weather outlook. See you in the a.m.!

Maybe you angels on the east coast should plan a road trip. It's dry and sunny in Oklahoma. Well to be absolutely honest it's dark right now. ;)

Seriously, take precautions. I wouldn't want anything to happen to any of you. Any of you remember The Unsinkable Molly Brown? I just love that movie.

"She's my friend, and she'll stay my friend
Doesn't matter what the other people say
She's my friend to the bitter end
Even though the bitter end's a million years away."

Don't know what made me think of that. Just a random neuron firing, I guess. I'm tired. Think I'll head to bed and try to catch up. Last night Allen took turns not sleeping and then having bad dreams all night. He'd moan and kick until I thought something HAD to be wrong, and it was just another dream. Sigh. I'll sleep like a baby tonight and I bet he will too. LOL!

OK, you all win, pants and hair up.

Laura (Lars), you are a true friend, I hope the doctors gets some results.

East Coasters - My favorite sisters inlaws live in WIlmington, NC, and she along with 2 of my other sisters live in VA, one in Williamsburg, so we are watching the storm closely, too. My MIL is not concerned, except she has brought everything in off of her condo balcony, (she and SIL are also in Northern VA) so I am sure she will have some stories to tell, especially if nothing more than rain happens.

Merry - Good thoughts for your MIL also. Hard to say what those parts are thinking at her age. I didn't give mine the chance, they left 2 years ago.

On a happier note, Saturday was the 3rd anniversary of my semi extreme makeover, and I just love my face more now than ever. I think it was the best $11450.00 I have spent in a while. I watch that show if I catch it whilst channel surfing, those people look so good in the follow ups. It really does take 6 to 12 months for everything to settle in.

OFf to bed for me, gotta get up early to make sure which outfit I will wear and work on the hair do.....

TTFN

PS I am all for Angels in Uniform on the hunt for the Meister.

Hi CS

It's still dark here too Melissa, but not for too mucy longer! ;)

Morning anybody who's up and everybody else when they do get up. We've had tropical downpours for the past few hours, EB wandered into our room at about 5 saying the rain woke her up. Sounds like the yucky weather Carol & Gina had yesterday.

No changes to the progress of Isabel, hope everyone's extended families stay safe too.

Sending more good wishes for your friend Laura.
