We just got back from the Cape and we did have a nice day. We met some nice folks at Alex's house and the kids had a great time with all the kids there, especially in the pool. We got to see the latest version of the Barry Hom DIS-meets video! It had the original DisCon in 2001 and even included RiddleCon so he's right up to date. Saw lots of familiar faces!

I was having trouble with reception on my cell phone however, probably from when I broke the antenna while on vacation. I did get a chance to chat briefly with both Elaine and Gina.

I woke up because my allergies were bothering me & rather than lay there sniffing and bothering DH I decided to get up.

Gail-I'm glad the meet! Now that the first ne is behind you it'll be much easier the second time Sorry that your cell phone was giving you problems though.

I hope that everyone enjoyed their movies last night. We watched 3 episodes of Trading Spaces, one I had seen before but 2 I hadn't.

Not much on the agenda during the day today but tonight we are going to BIL & SIL's house for a bonfire & then we're gonna pitch tents & have a camp out by the lake there. I should say the DHs & kiddies are sleeping outside...SIL & I are bringing the baby up to the house & sleeping there

Lars, I saw you had been on AIM since 5 AM. Hope you get to feeling better.

We had a great day at the beach yesterday. DD's BF was able to go. The weather was much better than predicted. We got to the beach about 11:30 and stayed on the beach until about 4:30. It was warm/hot with a nice breeze. The ocean was cool but not so cold we couldn't get in. Then we headed to Rehoboth, DE to the boardwalk. DD and BF got henna tattoos. All 3 kids played in the arcade. We had dinner in a pizza restaurant. Had a big rain and thunderstorm with some spectacular lightning. Broke for home about 8:30 and got in about 10:30.

I am not sure what we are doing after church today.

Hope you're doing better with your allergies Laura, I know how miserable that can be. Matt & I have been suffering lately too.

Sounds like you had a great day at the beach yesterday Carol!!! The mid-Atlantic had more unstable weather than we did so I'm glad the storm held off until later. When Kim called Gina yesterday she said they were under a tornado watch in NJ!

It sure is a great day for mini-golf Sandy....it's sunny, clear and actually cool here too. We're heading to a family cook-out and there's reason for celebrating too. My cousin, who's hosting the event with her DH, just announced she's pregnant!

More details about yesterday's meet to follow but for now the only people who got pushed into the pool were the kids....although there was a large cash reward on the table if anyone was brave enough to push Alex in!!!

Kimmar - I bought Chicago since I had already seen it and loved it! I liked the songs in Moulin Rouge, but the movie was a bit strange.

Gail - I was singing along w/ you! I have the CD too and play it all the time while I'm driving. When my DD and I were in Target the other day, there were previews of Chicago on the t.v. screens, and she yelled out, "Mommy, that's your favorite movie!"
Glad to hear your meet went well too!

Lars - are you taking a nap yet?

Steph - that is going to be a great concert. they aren't bad to look at!

DS is mowing the lawn for the first time ever right now! He's 14 & his father has finally decided that he's responsible enough. To tell you the truth I didn't think DH would ever let anyone else do it...he's too obsessive about the lawn, so I'm very glad he finally let Matthew do it! He offered to pay him too!! Big step for DH today!!! LOL!
We are running to Toys R Us in a little while to pick up our reserved copy of 'The Lion King' on DVD......it's Dylan's favorite Disney movie!! We have it on VHS but wanted the DVD too.

quiet night in the forest.......I'm at SIL & BIL's house on their computer. The campout is getting dampened by rain. My 2 SILs & I are up at the house with the baby & the rest of them are out for a late night pontoon ride. I needed top get dry!!!

Got rained out!!! Soggy isn't fun for camping out!!
We're going back for breakfast though....MIL is preparing a bunch of breakfast casseroles & bringing them over there. Luckily it's only a 10 minute drive.
