Hiya All.... :)

Well I'm in a great mood today! We've had two offers in on the house, one of which was quite a lot less than we are asking/need and one of which is the exact asking price!!! So yay! We haven't accepted the offer yet as we wanted to be fair to anyone who wanted to place a 'bid' but we shall be doing so either late on tomorrow or early Wednesday. Basically we are going to see the property we want to buy tomorrow evening and at least now we are in a position to say 'yes, we have a buyer for our property, they have a mortgage agreed and that is the end of the chain...' :)

I shall let you all know how things go i.e. if we get the house we are wanting, so please keep your fingers crossed for us!!

Hope everyone is well, I've been reading but not having the chance to post. Yesterday we went to a family wedding, it was really nice and all went well. Then we stayed in the hotel overnight and today has, as I've said, been a whirlwind of house offers! I also went for my injection to ensure I'm covered whilst in Romania so my left arm is really aching even only doing this bit of typing!!

LK - Hope the smallest LK's enjoyed what I sent :)

Take care everyone, speak to you tomorrow! (:( or should that be :) (;)) to the extra riddle-break time!!)

Cya,
Gaspode

Gail....just saw Shane and family....what an inspiration... here's hoping that his vision of no need for a "future telethon" is a forcast for a better tomorrow for Shane and all those managing these challenges day by day! Bless him, his family and friends!
We got to see them too and I certainly hope his vision becomes reality!!

Congrats on the offers on your house Melissa!!!:D

Hi gang! Just got done catching up on 10 pages. We had a nice weekend away. It rained a ton during the drive up on Friday evening. There was an accident on I-80 that caused us to be stuck in traffic for over 2 hours - what a mess! Saturday and Sunday were beautiful days, but today has been very rainy.

I need a few more days to get into the daily riddle mode.

20 years since Sawyer Brown were on Star Search??????? How can that be? Steph, too bad your concert wasn't as good as it should have been. :(

Diane, continued good thoughts for your recovery. Sounds like this doctor will be good for you.

M65, hope your mom is making progress, too!

Melissa, good luck with your house! I would love a postcard from Romania, too.

Gail, glad you had a good time at your first meet. I'm going to go and check out the pictures now.

Hiya,

Just about to go to bed but wanted to see what my fellow Angels (and TMWLT) think of this...

Spoke to my friend this evening and during the conversation she says 'Do you want another cat?'. Well as a matter of fact Jon and I have already decided that yes, we are going to get another cat when we have a bigger house so I say 'yes'. She proceeds to tell me about a little cat who lives with her sister....

Basically, apparently, and I'm not sure how much of this is fully true (her sister is crazy, truly, I can't get into it on a public board but she is so she could be lying about most of this!) Anyways, apparently her sister has a cat called 'Cain' who is a big, tough ginger tom who fights with dogs etc. She loves it. It went missing a few months ago and so they put up posters asking for anyone who has seen it... Some ppl showed up with a ginger cat they had found and said 'this must be your cat'. She took it in but soon realised it wasn't Cain, esp. when Cain showed up shortly thereafter!!

My friend says her sister hates this other cat who she has called 'Tilly'. Its a little ginger perhaps one or two year old female who loves to play and wants affection all the time but her sister thinks poor Tilly should 'toughen up' and so doesn't want to feed it proper cat food (just raw meat?!) and leaves it outside a lot...

So my friend says she is sure her sister would love to give us the cat and do we want it? I said I would talk to Jon.

If all this is true of course I want to help the poor Kitty out!! But my thoughts are this and here is where I would like opinions please...

If this cat was 'found' then perhaps it has an owner somewhere? I think rather than us taking it in, the best thing perhaps is to get the UK's animal charity (RSPCA) involved or a vet involved and they could check if poor old Tilly is microchipped and perhaps return her to her owners! I think I will suggest that my friend does this (her sister must really be mistreating Tilly because my friend really dislikes cats but feels bad for Tilly...) or perhaps we both go to the sisters house together, get Tilly and take her to the charity or vets and I say if they can't find the real owner *then* we will take her in?! I'm just not sure what to do for the best for poor little Tilly!!!

Thanks for any help, sorry for the long post, goodness my arm aches LOL

Take care everyone,
Gaspode

Good Evening Everyone!
Just back from the 'adoption' party. My niece has a beautiful DD named Chloe who is 3 y/o. Chloe's biological father was an abusive jerk who left my niece when she was about 8 months pregnant. He never had any involvement with the baby...only saw her twice very briefly. My niece met a wonderful man a few years ago that she is now married to, he has always taken care of Chloe & loves her like his own. They were finally able to get the biological father to sign away his rights & she has now been officially adopted by her Daddy:D We had reason to CELEBRATE!!!! My niece's DH said he considered the adoption to be correcting a typo on Chloe's birth certificate. I am so happy for all of them!!!

Melissa-First of all...CONGRATS on selling the house for asking price!!!!YAY!!!
I haven't heard of having pets micro chipped. I think that if you believe it's possible that a family could be missing this kitty it's worth checking into...otherwise you'd always wonder. If no family is found then you could keep her.

kimmar-I have a DS named Dylan too!:D We Angels seem to have a lot of same name kids!

LK-Good to have you back!!

Gail-I hope that Shane's dreams come true!!!

Evening All!

Val - the kids are listening to the CD w/ Disneyworld songs again! I wish I could go back soon (w/o the heat and storms).

Gaspode - hope your arm is feeling better. I would take the cat and take it to a doctor and make sure it is o.k., then I would see if anyone has reported a missing cat that fits the description - probably will be hard though. congrats on getting a good offer on your house!

Lars - what a happy time for your niece and family! glad everything worked out and that she has a "real" dad now.

Hi all... I had no idea I was going to be this busy this weekend. I am so tired right now too. I wish I had time to catch up but I have a ton of house work I am trying to get done. But I just wanted to say hi to you all :)

Evening Angels ATMWLT!

Lorraine - I'm so glad the little ones are still enjoying the WDW tunes....It always makes me feel good to listen to them....and I know how you feel....even though ANY trip to the world is always welcome, the weather challenges we encountered surely made it tough to follow through on any real plans....I may plan another short trip in May with my OTHER sister and my 4 year old nephew/Godson! ALWAYS up for a WDW adventure....I'm STILL sorry we didn't get to meet there....SOMEday...:D

LK - Welcome home! Glad that you enjoyed a couple days of good weather....at least the tornado of WDW didn't follow us home!

Gaspode - GREAT NEWS on the HOUSE! Congratulations!

Lars - What a great thing to be able to celebrate! Best to your niece, her DH and Chloe for their new "beginnings" and bright future together as a family!

Diane and M65 - keeping you both in my thoughts for CONTINUED good progress for you Diane and for your Mom, M65!

Carol - did you have a chance to get the new program material last week from WW? Let me know if it all made sense to you as it relates to your maintenance!

Looking forward to the return of the riddle next week! Hope everyone else had a great weekend and has a good (short) work/school week to come!

Valerie :D

Hi all. I've been going through DIS withdrawals again. I'm so sick of whatever is wrong with our internet provider. We're off more than we are on at this point.

We went to the Sooners game on Saturday. It was a great game - almost a shutout. The only problem was that it rained buckets. We got soaked, even with ponchos. The good news is that it cooled off due to the rain. Amy and I had a lot of fun.

After the game, we waited for a shuttle to take us back to the parking lot. We didn't want to walk 2 miles in the dark. Anyway, while we were waiting we went into my old dormitory to use the rest room. I told Amy, "This is where I met your dad", meaning in that dorm. She replied, "You met Daddy in the ladies bathroom?" Kids take things so literally!

Another cute Amy story: the first day of school she chose a sleeveless shirt that had a built in bra. As she dressed I noticed she was putting on another bra. I said, "You don't need another bra - don't you think that's redundant?" Yesterday, when I told her to get dressed she said she wanted to wear the new shirt with the redundant bra. I was puzzled until she reminded me. LOL!

Sunday, we skipped church and slept in. We went for a quick visit to MIL and FIL's in the afternoon. Then we went to my mom's for dinner and saw my brother and his family. It was fun. The kids spent the night with their cousins and we picked them up this morning.

My good friend's son Josh has shingles. He's in the 2nd or 3rd grade and can hardly eat or drink. He's just miserable. Please think positive thoughts for their family. He's been so very sick and they say it may continue to hurt like this for 6 months. Yikes!

Congrats to Melissa on the house. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get the house you want.

Bernie, we'll be glad to give you another week, but I'm sure looking forward to getting some pants again. And Amy is driving me crazy asking when it starts up again.

Merry, sorry you are having trouble with your connection.

Melissa, good luck with the house. And I hope you can make a good decision about the kitty.

Valerie, we did get the new info at Wednesday's WW meeting. I am one of those people that is resistant to change. I may try the new way in a week or so. Actually, I must admit, I stopped journaling when we went on vacation in July and have been doing ok weight wise.

Welcome back, LK.

Lars, how cool about the adoption party.

See you all in the morning.

Melissa: great news about the house and you'll make a good call about the kitty:)

I start film history and screenwriting on Wed:)

Good Morning!
:o I'm awake....really I am..............:o zzzzzzzzz

 Morning Lars....don't ask me WHY I'm awake....but I am....sorta....or maybe not....I think I may be sleep DISing....time to make the coffee...

Morning!
Hope you had a better night than I did with allergies Laura. :(

My allergies were bad last night too. I think I got up half a dozen times for water for my dry throat. Of course, then, I had to get up another half dozen times to go to the toilet!
