Morning and Happy Long Weekend, Angels!

Sounds like lots of you folks are planning good travel and fun for the last big weekend of summer. I have a few errands to run for the house, and DH will be working out there all weekend. We are planning on going to the Twins/Angels game on Monday.

Went to the doctor again yesterday. This was the BIg wig neurologist I have been waiting a month to see. He was very encouraging and did a VERY thorough exam! Also took about another 9 tubes of blood! I keep telling them they need to leave me a LITTLE! He said the next test will be a muscle biopsy, since I do have some muscle response problems. He does still think it is possible that this is all a result from the virus I had 7 weeks ago. He thinks it might be an adult version of Fifths disease that kids get. He noted my sunburn type rash (that I have been trying to get doctors to pay attention to for 6 weeks! ) and said that is a major syptom of that, and that while children get over this virus in a couple days, it can take adults many months and even years to recover from it.

Diane, that is so wonderful and so encouraging to hear!!!! I hope this doctor will find out all that might have caused this trouble for you and find a way to help you out. That's a lot of blood though And if you have Fifths disease I hope it doesn't take years for you to recover!!!!!

Diane, that sounds hopeful. I mean, I hope it won't take YEARS for you to recover, but at least it sounds better than some of the alternatives. I'll keep my fingers crossed. It's always nice when a doctor listens to you.

Marsha, we missed you! Sorry you won't be able to be around for a while, but check in when you have a minute and say hi. I want to see pictures of the "love palace" when you finish.

The mudball fight was cancelled. Too much mud - no not really, too much lightening. LOL! It's been storming here all night.

David and Allen are working at the O.U. game. Amy and I are going to get to have our seats. Hopefully it won't be as soggy as it looks. I need to pull out some ponchos I guess.

Tomorrow night we either go to the baseball game or go to my mom's for dinner. My brother and his family will be there. We'd be doing the family dinner for sure, but we'd made plans for the game before we knew they were coming. I'm not sure what we'll do. I need to go buy a gift for my SIL. It's her birthday this weekend. Not sure what to get her this time.

My friend Cathy called. She has been married about 22 years to a guy who I feel is verbally abusive. He treats her terrible and is always negative with her. He is always tearing her down and telling her she's fat or she's lazy. They have 2 kids together. The oldest is in 6th grade and just told her good friend that she didn't feel like her daddy loves her. Anyway, he travels most of the time and Cathy has decided that since it is impacting the kids (duh, I've been telling her that for years) she is going to confront him when he comes home. If he won't try to do better, she's kicking him out. I think he'll be back mid to late September from this job. I'll let you know how it goes. Think of her if you feel so inclined. I'm a little worried about how he'll react.

I'll be checking back during the weekend. I'll be in and out a lot. Have a great break everyone. We angels deserve it.

Melissa-I will definately keep Cathy in my thoughts. She is lucky to have a friend like you for support.

Carol-You are gonna LOVE 'The Secret Life of Bees'!!! I would recommend it to all my Angel friends! Our book club read this last month and on a scale of 1-10 it got a combined/average score of 9.2 from all 8 of us!!! It's the highest rating we've given a book in the 3 years we've been doing book club!!

Just remember, I don't have an "official" uniform!!!

I could make you one!!

Wow, that does sound like encouraging news! Hope your recovery is a swift one! Boy, "bedside manner" can make all the difference in the world when you don't know what's wrong and it seems like no one will listen. You had mentioned that it could be possibly from a virus. Last year, as I was walking from my car to the school entrance, a 7th grader was sorta lying on the steps and crying. He claimed he couldn't walk and couldn't feel his legs. An ambulance arrived at the school and took him to the hospital. Needless to say, it was a very scary situation for the students. He was actually paralyzed from the waist down: no feeling, no movement! Turns out, he'd been sick with a virus the week before...doctors IMMEDIATELY began treating him. Long-story-short ~ he is almost fully recovered and CAN walk again (although, with a slight limp). I'm sure his positive outlook is what got him through the whole ordeal, along with his walking again (originally, his prognosis wasn't good ). Keep the faith, you have a LOT of people who love you and are "rootin' " for ya ! [ {{{HUGS}}} and prayers your way! ]

Thanks for the encouragement. I really feel that THIS doctor is willing to stick with this until he has the whole story. He has asked me to have the lung doctor copy him on the previous and future test results. He is not really sure the breathing is completely related to the other problems, but he is sure he can figure it out. He was encouraging, anyway! I had a great day yesterday, but his muscle tests have left me pretty fatiqued today. I am going to try and ignore that a little and go out to the new house this afternoon. Dick needs some help gathering things together, and I can at least locate things for him. It seems the workers moved all his stuff around, and he has been spending most of the day trying to locate things!

I will try and drag my body down the bank to take some photos of the back again. There is still so much equipment sitting around, I hate to have all that in the pictures, but they have done a lot of the basic landscape, so it looks a bit more finished. The inside is a MESS!!! Sheet rock tapers and log buffers and fireplace masons have seen to that!
